ELECTRICITY & ENERGY CONSERVATION Most 110V and 120V appliances from the US will function on our electrical system. However, the electricity on Bonaire is of a higher voltage than it is in the US, so anything you plug in should be monitored. The current is 127V, 50 cycles. We suggest you do not leave heavy equipment plugged into the wall socket for longer than needed, and never leave it unattended. We are not responsible for any damages that may occur to your electronics. We are conscious of protecting our natural resources and have an energy conservation plan that includes the use of low-watt light bulbs. Please help us conserve electricity by turning off the lights when you leave your room or when they are not in use. We also ask that you keep the sliding door closed, which will help avoid condensation in your unit. Please assist us with our conservation efforts by: • Observing the pool and beach towel exchange notice and reusing bath towels by hanging them on the rack in your room. • Conserving water in-room and in public areas and reporting any water leaks. • Decreasing your waste by using recycle bins for glass, cans, and plastic. • Keeping the beach clean of litter. • Protecting the iguanas from harm and not feeding them. • Refraining from using single-use plastic bottles and straws. In addition to our own environmental efforts, we support the local community and love to give back through our Divi Cares programs. Ask us how you can contribute to this cause today.

Additional safety guidelines and best practices: • Secure your room before you leave and at night by locking all windows and doors using the locking devices provided. • Lock your entrance door from the inside and the connecting door, if applicable. • Always lock up your valuables (money, passports, jewelry, etc.) in the safe deposit box provided in your room. Resort policy requires that a guest must always be present in their room when requesting resort assistance with safe deposit boxes. • When returning to the hotel in the evening, use main access roads and walkways. • Do not display your room keys in public or leave them in your vehicle, on restaurant tables, at swimming pools, or other places where they can be easily stolen. For your safety, keys do not display room numbers. • Do not draw attention to yourself by displaying large amounts of cash or valuables. Fire Safety: When you check into your room, please locate the nearest fire exit and fire extinguisher. Make sure to review the fire safety exit plan on the back of your main door. There is also a fire hose and extinguisher on each floor in the exterior stairwell. Count the number of doors between your room and the exits. This will assist you should the need for an emergency evacuation arise. Choose a specific spot to keep your keys so you can locate them in an emergency. In case of a fire, please remain calm. If the fire is in your room, get out quickly. Close the door, sound the alarm, and notify the resort staff. If the fire is not in your room, leave if it is safe to do so. Be sure to take your room key with you in case the fire blocks your exit and you need to re-enter your room. To check the hallway for fire, touch the door with the back of your hand to test the temperature. If the door is cool, get low to the floor, brace your shoulder against the door and open it slowly. Be ready to close it quickly if there are flames on the other side. Crawl low in the smoke to the nearest exit or staircase; the freshest air is near the floor. Return to your room if the exit or staircase is aflame. If your room door is hot, do not open it. Instead, seal the door with wet towels or sheets. Turn off fans and air conditioning. Immediately call the Front Desk for help. Signal from your window. Jumping down from higher-level floors is dangerous and could result in injury or death. Follow the instructions given by the resort staff and/or local authorities such as the fire department, police, and ambulance staff. Do not reenter your room unless authorities or resort staff have instructed you to do so. Car Security: Although our parking lot is well lit and regularly patrolled, we recommend that you lock all car doors and windows, and do not leave valuables or your room keys in your vehicle. We assume no liability for theft/or damage to your vehicle.

SUN EXPOSURE The sun in Bonaire can be very intense. Even during a cloudy day, harmful UV rays may still be present. Please exercise caution and use proper reef-safe sunscreen.

TRANSPORTATION Vehicles drive on the right side of the road and international traffic signs are used. Foreign and international driver’s licenses are valid. To rent a car, please see CAR RENTAL for more details. Taxis: Taxis are widely available on the island. They have no meters, but all carry governmentissued rate sheets with the prices for destinations throughout the island. These prices are based on 1-4 passengers per trip. Rates rise after midnight. Taxi stations are at the airport. For a taxi, call 717-8100, or the Front Desk can call for you. A taxi from the airport to Divi Flamingo is about US $10-$20.

TRASH Please help us keep our resort and island clean and do not litter. Bonaire is a windy island, so cups, bottles, and other items can blow away easily. Please preserve the environment by throwing your items away in the bins provided throughout the resort and by retrieving any items that blow away.

WAKE-UP SERVICE To request a wake-up call, please dial the Front Desk at ext. 0
