Our second office in São Brás de Alportel also turned out to be a great success, so we decided to expand our work area even further in 2017. We have always had a great love for this special village because of its authentic character and the beautiful location near the coast. This region also appeared to be gaining popularity among buyers. We were increasingly in demand for housing in this part of the Algarve, which is why we decided to settle in Moncarapacho, just above the famous fishing village of Olhão, in 2017. Our office is centrally located opposite the market in Moncarapacho, close to the village square and the church.

Moncarapacho is a beautiful, authentic village near the coast where you can discover the real Portugal.

The special thing about Moncarapacho and the surrounding area is that the natural landscape here feels very different from what most people know of the Algarve. Instead of relatively small beaches with beautiful cliffs, you’ll find long stretches of sandy beaches on beautiful peninsulas. This side of the Algarve has several traditional villages and boasts some truly exquisite nature, with a particularly highlight being the Parque Natural da Ria Formosa.

Olhão is the largest fishing port in the Algarve and the old town centre has many Moorish influences. Olhão’s biggest attraction is its market halls, with the town boasting one of the most vibrant and picturesque markets in the Algarve. The market offers a huge selection of fish and many local farmers come here to sell fruit, honey and even live chickens.

Moncarapacho is a few miles inland, and this beautiful village is surrounded by orchards, carob bushes and almond trees. One of the main attractions is the church of

Santo Cristo with its beautiful passageway and painted arches. Fuseta is a fishing village full of whitewashed, square houses with flat roofs and tall chimneys. The elongated beach is popular with water sports enthusiasts.

The Parque Natural da Ria Formosa is considered to be the most important nature reserve in the Algarve. The lagoons, swamps, channels and islets are brimming with life and home to many types of shellfish. Various bird species can also be found here. The nature reserve covers over 65 square miles and the rich ecosystem is ideal for a variety of fauna and flora to thrive.
