distraction. Practice sitting still, with eyes closed, and focus only on your breathing. Using deep, controlled breaths, try to steer your thoughts away from negative and stress‑inducing thoughts.

Stretch. While the most health‑conscious person may opt for a morning sweat‑a‑thon, working in some stretches can also be beneficial. When you awake, think about oft‑used muscles and extend each one for 15‑30 seconds.

Activate. Give your brain some fuel in the morning while also doing something nice for your mind. For example, journaling is a gentle way to ease into your morning and get your brain firing. If you can’t think of a topic, simply write down a few affirmations for the day, revisit a pleasant memory from your past or scribble down a goal for the week. Journaling can be an uplifting way to engage the mind and express gratitude for the day ahead.

(Feature Impact) Keeping your home clean doesn’t have to mean filling your cabinets with harsh chemicals or single‑use cleaning products. In fact, some of the most effective solutions may already be in your pantry. By swapping a few everyday products for simple, eco‑friendly solutions, you can clean effectively, save money and make your home a little greener. If you’re looking to reduce waste, cut back on toxins and simplify your cleaning routine, natural ingredients like vinegar, baking soda and lemon can deliver results while also being safer for your home ‑ and the environment.

Make Your Own All‑Purpose Cleaner

Instead of buying multiple cleaners for different surfaces, try a DIY solution that works in many areas of the home. In a spray bottle, combine 1 cup white vinegar, 1 cup water and 10 drops of the essential oil of your choice ‑ such as lemon, lavender or tea tree ‑ then use it on countertops, sinks, glass and other surfaces to curb grease and grime. Avoid using vinegar‑based cleaners on natural stone like granite or marble, however, as its acidity can cause damage.

Let Baking Soda Do the Scrubbing

One of the most versatile eco‑friendly cleaners around, baking soda acts as a gentle

abrasive that helps lift stains without scratching surfaces. Simply sprinkle baking soda onto sinks, bathtubs, cookware, stovetops or tile grout then scrub with a damp sponge or cloth for a sparkling clean finish.

Freshen Carpets Naturally

Carpets and rugs can trap odors, but a DIY deodorizer made of 1 cup baking soda and 10‑15 drops of the essential oil of your choice can replace chemical sprays and keep floor surfaces smelling fresh. Just sprinkle across the carpet, let sit for 15‑20 minutes then vacuum.

Use Lemon to Cut Grease and Stains

Lemon juice is a powerful natural cleaner due to its acidity and antibacterial properties. It can leave behind a fresh scent when used to clean cutting boards, remove soap scum and water spots or deodorize garbage disposals. For stubborn grime, mix lemon juice with baking soda to create a paste that can tackle tough surface stains.

Naturally Deodorize Drains

If your kitchen sink smells unpleasant, skip the harsh chemical drain cleaners. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda down the drain then add 1/2 cup white vinegar. Let the mixture fizz a few minutes then flush with hot water to help loosen buildup while neutralizing odors.

Polish Stainless Steel with Pantry Staples

Remove grimy fingerprints and give stainless steel appliances a streak‑free shine with a simple mixture of 1 tablespoon white vinegar and 1 tablespoon olive oil.

(Feature Impact) As the days get longer and the weather improves, many people often find the motivation to refresh their homes ‑ and their habits.

Spring cleaning is a perfect opportunity to reset, reorganize and make small changes that can help the planet. What’s more, these changes are simple to implement and can even earn you some extra cash.

Consider these five easy waste‑reduction tips from the experts at CalRecycle to help you jump into the season feeling organized and eco‑friendly.

1. Recycle Kitchen Waste

As you clear out expired or forgotten food, sort items for maximum impact:

* Remove plastic and non‑compostable packaging and put spoiled or freezer‑burned food into your green bin. These scraps can be turned into compost and clean energy, helping cut methane emissions from landfills.

* Toss empty, dry recyclables, including condiment bottles, glass jars, metal cans and plastic food containers, into your blue bin.

2. Cash in Empty Beverage Containers

* Cleaning out your home may uncover some empty or forgotten beverage containers. Empty out leftover liquids and take eligible beverage containers for soda, water, juice, wine and distilled spirits to your nearest recycling site for cash back. Every California Redemption Value (CRV) beverage container you recycle saves resources and puts money back in your pocket.

* If you’re short on time, donate your empty CRV beverage containers to your favorite nonprofit organization. Set up a separate bin just for eligible beverage containers and drop them off for donation when it’s full.

3. Give Clothes and Household Items a Second Life

* Dig into your closets and shelves to see what you can repair, repurpose or donate. Fix a missing button, turn old fabric into cleaning rags or give gently used items to a local free‑exchange group or thrift store to reduce textile waste. Simple steps like these can keep usable items out of the landfill and help someone else put them to good use.

4. Declutter Paper and Electronics

* Recycle junk mail, magazines and newspapers in your blue bin. Remove any plastic windows, wrap or stickers first. If you shred documents, place the shredded paper inside a paper bag before recycling. Bonus tip: Switching to digital statements and bills can help prevent paper clutter in the first place.

* Old electronics and used batteries don’t belong in the trash. Gather them from drawers and cabinets then take them to an e‑waste drop‑off site or local household hazardous waste collection center for safe handling.

5. Refresh the Bathroom

* When restocking soaps or cleaners, look for products that offer refillable containers (especially reusable glass and aluminum ones). It’s a simple way to cut down on plastic waste.

* When you finish bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap or cleaning sprays, make sure they land in your recycling bin after you empty them out.

* Swap out single‑use paper towels for washable cloths or rags. They’re reusable, durable and kinder to the environment.

5 STEPS TO BABYPROOF YOUR HOME

(Family Features) Your little one’s on‑the‑go adventures mark a huge milestone for his or her development and your family. Before you allow your baby to trek freely from room to room, get your home ready for a child on the move with these safety steps and precautions:

Prepare before the birth

First‑time parents are likely to embark upon a new life filled with late nights, sleep deprivation and a world of stresses they’ve never experienced or considered. Prepare your home before the baby is born to avoid the panic of waiting until the last minute.

Tour like your tot

The first step toward ensuring your home is ready for a mobile child is to see the world from the same level. Take a crawling tour around your home to see things that may be in the way or discover hazardous items that are within easy reach. Use all of your senses to assess any potential dangers.

Latch it up

Protect your little one from sharp objects and

heavy items by installing child protection latches on all cabinets and drawers. For an added layer of protection, keep any sharp objects and harmful chemicals in high places only adults can reach.

Evaluate leaning objects

Bookshelves, bedside tables and the items placed on them, such as television sets and other large appliances, can be a threat to the safety of a small child trying to pull him or herself up and balance on two feet. Ensure these items are properly secured or keep them put away unless in use to avoid them being pulled on top of your child.

Other safety measures

To properly prepare your home for a mobile child, don’t forget to take steps such as:

Covering electrical outlets with safety plugs

Placing safety gates at the top and bottom of staircases

Installing fireplace screens

Adding foam padding to sharp furniture corners and edges* Placing a soft cover over the bathtub waterspout

Removing blinds with looped cords or installing safety tassels and cord stops

Stocking your first aid kit

Putting non‑slip pads under rugs

(BPT) ‑ As the weather begins to warm up, it’s time to breathe life into your backyard sanctuary and embrace the vibrant spirit of spring. Professional landscaper, author, and TV host of “I Hate My Yard” Sara Bendrick shares her In/Out list for spring, taking a look at today’s gardening trends, as well as her best tips for revitalizing your outdoor space this year.

What’s out?You can say goodbye to these common substances and practices that aren’t great for your yard, your family, or the environment.

Harmful chemicals People are more aware than ever of how harmful chemicals like pesticides and herbicides negatively impact the soil, your food, and your health. Reduce or exclude these toxic chemicals from your garden experience by planting insect‑deterring herbs or by incorporating organic compost and mulch to add essential nutrients to your soil.

“If you’re starting a new garden and want to till in organic matter, the STIHL KombiSystem with the mini‑cultivator attachment is a great multi‑task tool,” said Bendrick.

Colored or rubber mulch Because it’s sold everywhere and is often on sale, most people use bagged, dyed mulch to freshen up their flower beds. But the truth is, these dyed wood chips contain chemicals that can leach into your soil.

You may also fall for the convenience of rubber mulch, but that’s made of recycled car tires, which are toxic and can transfer chemicals by touch and into the soil as they wear down.

“Instead of colored or rubber mulch, opt for natural wood chips,” recommended Bendrick. “You can use wood bark, pine needles, or other natural materials that break down and add organic material back into the soil.”

Artificial turf As water restrictions have become increasingly widespread, so has artificial turf, but that kind of turf can’t be recycled when it’s old. Eventually, you will see weeds popping up again if your artificial turf is not maintained.

“Most importantly, it’s hot and inorganic, increasing the ‘heat island effect’ that warms up the surrounding environment,” said Bendrick. “Homeowners should consider other lawn alternatives like tall native grasses or drought‑tolerant ground covers.” Using local, native, and climate‑appropriate plant selections can transform a high‑maintenance yard into a beautiful oasis ‑ while saving on water and scaling maintenance to quarterly rather than weekly or monthly.

What’s in?Ready to hear about practical, easy‑to‑follow tips that can improve the look as well as the health of your yard? Bendrick recommends embracing the following trends.

Bugs Insects are essential for pollinating food sources, and they are also great at cleaning up undesirables in your garden, like feces, dead animals and plants, recycling their nutrients back into the soil.

“Our relationship with creepy crawlies has not always been friendly,” noted Bendrick. “However, there is a resurgence of respect for the insect world and their integral work in balancing the ecosystem in our gardens.”

Collecting or harvesting rainwater Rain barrels are great, but they’re limited by their smaller size, leaving lots of water uncollected for use. Passive infiltration and collection pits are great additional catchment methods or alternatives to rain barrels.

“These systems are becoming increasingly popular as they can help recharge groundwater and hold moisture onsite longer, benefiting your lawn and garden in many ways!” Bendrick added.

Battery‑powered outdoor power equipmentWhen it comes to maintaining your yard, there are many options to choose from, but battery‑powered tools are in high demand because they provide a low‑noise, zero‑exhaust emissions, lightweight option that offers power and performance comparable to gas.

For example, Bendrick recommends the STIHL lineup of battery‑powered homeowner tools that offer an interchangeable battery compatible with 15 different tools to tackle all your lawn care jobs.

Color is back!

Technically, color never went away, but grey tones have, until recently, dominated rooms and spaces indoors and out.

“Now we’re seeing a warming trend moving in, with a focus on earth tones like soft tans and natural greens, with pops of accent colors, like Peach Fuzz, Pantone’s color of the year, to create a warm yet vibrant and personalized space,” said Bendrick.

Smart landscapesTech has moved to the garden! Thanks to the latest technology, you can even go beyond irrigation systems that turn off when it’s raining or lighting apps that allow you to customize your backyard mood from your phone.

“Today, you can even use autonomous lawnmowers like the STIHL iMOW for smart landscapes that reduce your maintenance tasks,” said Bendrick, “and offer quite the conversation piece as well.”

Knowing the latest trends in yard and garden design, care and maintenance can help you create a more eco‑friendly, livable outdoor space for you and your family to enjoy. Visit STIHLUSA.com for more tips from Sara to help your lawn and garden thrive.

SAY “YES PLEASE” TO THE GRILLED CHEESE OF THE YEAR: GOOEY GOODNESS WITH A PROTEIN PUNCH

(Feature Impact) A grilled cheese sandwich isn’t just a lunchtime staple; it’s a beloved cultural icon. There is a universal magic in the combination of ooey‑gooey cheese, golden bread and a little butter ‑ but in 2026, this comfort food classic is getting a functional upgrade.

It’s also safe to say nostalgia is delicious and addicting, which is why Borden Cheese is sharing not one, but two, prize‑worthy recipes, one of which packs a protein punch and another that’s a pure classic, perfect for spreading smiles and happy bellies.

Protein, Please: The Protein Powerhouse is the Grilled Cheese of the Year, and it’s easy to see why. It’s a protein‑packed masterpiece designed for the modern appetite. Featuring a creamy, dual‑cheese combo of mild cheddar and Borden Mozzarella Cheese Melts, the sandwich is melted over 5 ounces of tender sliced chicken breast and delivers more than 40 grams of protein and about 8 grams of fiber when paired with the right bread. Served with a tangy Greek yogurt and Dijon mustard “powerhouse sauce” and pressed between golden, crispy bread, this grilled cheese isn’t your ordinary melt. It has been transformed into a massive protein boost.

Tried n’ True: While modern flavors and trends are delicious, nostalgia is too. In fact, a whopping 20,000 fans cast their votes for America’s Favorite Grilled Cheese, asserting a fervor that’s unmatched when it comes to their perfect melt, and awarded The Classic the title of “America’s Favorite.” This comforting recipe pairs extra sharp melts with American singles on sliced white bread for a perfect, ooey‑gooey bite that

reminds you the cheese truly “makes” the sandwich.

Visit BordenCheese.com/grilled‑cheese‑day for other ooey‑gooey grilled cheese recipes created for 2026.

The Protein Powerhouse

1 tablespoon butter, softened

2 slices bread fortified with protein and fiber

2 Borden Mild Cheddar Slices

1 slice Borden Mozzarella Melts

5 ounces sliced chicken breast (deli‑shaved or thinly carved)

“Powerhouse” Sauce:

2 tablespoons non‑fat Greek yogurt

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

Heat griddle to medium heat. Butter bread. Layer cheeses and chicken on top of bread.

Place bread on griddle and cook until lightly toasted. Flip and cook other side.

Remove sandwich from skillet or griddle.

To make powerhouse sauce: Mix Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, garlic powder and smoked paprika until well blended. Slice sandwich in half and drizzle with Powerhouse sauce.

The Classic

1 tablespoon butter, softened

2 slices white bread

2 slices Borden Extra Sharp Melts

2 slices Borden American Singles

Heat skillet or griddle over medium heat.

Spread butter on one side of each slice bread.

Place cheese slices on unbuttered side of bread. Top with other slice of bread with butter facing upward.

Place sandwich on skillet or griddle and cook

3‑4 minutes on each side. Using spatula, lightly press sandwich down gently while cooking to melt cheese better.

Remove from skillet or griddle and slice in half.

(BPT) ‑ Language barriers can make it difficult to connect with family, friends and neighbors who speak a language you don’t. When you’re traveling, lacking fluency in the local language can make trip planning challenging and take away from the trip experience. For those running small businesses, not being able to communicate with clients in their own language can lead to missed opportunities.

But what if your conversations could be translated in real time with the push of a button?

This isn’t a far‑off future technology. It’s here and now. Say goodbye to language barriers and hello to Live Translation from T‑Mobile.

Turning conversations into community Translation services have been around for a while. However, they can be expensive, require specific devices, apps, downloads and subscriptions, and route data in ways that aren’t always private and secure.

To bridge the language gap and make live multilingual conversations a reality for everyone, T‑Mobile is launching a beta trial of Live Translation this spring, the world’s first real‑time agentic AI platform built directly into a wireless network.

“Some of the biggest barriers wireless customers face are the simplest ones ‑ like being able to understand each other,” said Srini Gopalan, CEO of T‑Mobile. “When language gets in the way, the network gets reduced to just a signal ‑ and that’s not who we are. By bringing real‑time AI directly into our network, we’re delivering more than connectivity ‑ turning conversations into community, starting with

Live Translation.”

Because it’s built right into the network, this real‑time voice translation service provides near‑instant, two‑way translation on any phone ‑ from smartphones to the most basic flip phones ‑ in over 50 languages. No special phones, apps or fees required.

A real‑time interpreter at your fingertips

So, how does Live Translation work? It’s very simple. If you’re on the T‑Mobile network, all you need to do is call and dial *87*. Live Translation will automatically detect two different languages and translate them in real time, allowing for a smooth, natural conversation. Plus, only one person needs to be on T‑Mobile’s network to initiate translation.

“Live Translation shows what’s possible when you rethink the role of a wireless provider,” said John Saw, President of Technology & CTO, T‑Mobile. “We started this journey years ago by betting big on 5G, and creating a network that wasn’t just about speed, but also one that could adapt and evolve. With nationwide 5G Advanced as the foundation, we can now run real‑time AI services directly in the network with Live Translation being the first in a new era of AI‑driven experiences for customers.”

Whether you’re calling your abuela to let her know about your job promotion, making hotel reservations for your trip to France or simply talking with your neighbor or local customer, you’ll be able to confidently communicate. If you’re ready to connect with people across the world and those next door, you can get early access to T‑Mobile’s Live Translation by visiting T‑Mobile.com/Live‑Translation.

Eligible T‑Mobile service required for trial. Limited spots available; registration does not guarantee access. Near real‑time translation available for 50+ languages; translations are AI generated and accuracy is not guaranteed. For voice calling only. Available on the T‑Mobile network; service also available when roaming internationally in select countries on partner networks with 5G or VoLTE enabled. Translation service not available for 911 or 988 emergency calls.

(BPT) ‑ Imagine this: It’s a chilly evening, and you’ve been counting down the minutes until you can step into a long, relaxing hot shower. The water feels perfect, steam rising, when suddenly the warmth disappears and you’re hit with an icy blast that sends you scrambling for the faucet.

Nothing snaps you out of your comfort zone faster than running out of hot water.

Hot water isn’t just a household must‑have, it’s one of the foundations of whole‑home comfort. That’s why choosing the right water heater matters. The model you bring home isn’t just another appliance purchase; it’s an investment in everyday peace of mind. The right water heater helps ensure your family always has the hot water they need for showers, baths, dishes, laundry and all the moments in between.

Because when comfort starts with reliable hot water, everything at home just feels better. Lennox in hot water

Lennox has introduced a new line of water heaters designed to give homeowners reliable comfort, long‑lasting performance and peace of mind. Built with the same focus on quality

that homeowners expect from Lennox, these water heaters offer a dependable new option for everyday living.

Each model features durable steel construction and is glass‑lined with PermaClad® to defend against corrosion, one of the most common issues that can lead to early water‑heater failure or costly repairs.

Select models also include smart protective features like a SediMotion System to prolong tank life by reducing sediment buildup, FillSafe Protection that helps keep internal components safe if the tank isn’t filled correctly and LennoxLock flammability protection. All of these elements work quietly in the background to support long‑term performance and make home comfort feel effortless.

There’s also a major advantage when it comes to energy use. Lennox heat pump water heaters are designed to help reduce the amount of energy needed to heat water, which can help lower monthly utility bills. And on select models, app‑enabled controls let you monitor and manage your water heater, and even your thermostat, right from the Lennox Home app, bringing more convenience and control to your everyday routine.

Get ready for years of comfortable, worry‑free living

A reliable water heater does more than just deliver hot water. It can be part of a connected home comfort ecosystem that you can count on for years to come.

Picnic Party Sandwiches

Recipe adapted from “Crunch Time Kitchen”

Total time: 20 minutes

Servings: 4

1/4 cup salted butter

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, minced

1 large fresh baguette

1/4 cup fig preserves

6‑8 ounces cured meats, such as prosciutto, salami and capocollo

6 ounces brie cheese, sliced

2 cups arugula

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 pinch kosher salt

Mash together room temperature butter with fresh parsley. Set aside.

Cut fresh baguette length‑wise and smear bottom half of the baguette with herbed butter. Top with fig preserves.

Layer on cured meats followed by slices of brie cheese. For brie, cut off any large pieces of rind.

In small bowl, toss arugula with lemon juice and salt. Add arugula to sandwich followed by top half of baguette.

Cut baguette into four even sandwiches and eat immediately or wrap each one tightly in paper or plastic wrap.

DISCOVER THE BEST SOLAR GENERATOR FOR YOUR OUTDOOR ADVENTURES

(BPT) ‑ Solar generators are more than just an insurance policy for emergency situations. In addition to keeping your refrigerator humming and the lights on during a power outage, a portable solar generator offers clean, renewable energy on the go, providing a gateway to outdoor freedom.

With a solar generator, you can enjoy a latte at sunrise, host a spontaneous backyard movie night or blend a refreshing cocktail or mocktail while you dance on the beach, without ever worrying about running out of power. It’s the simplest way to enjoy the great outdoors and incorporate the indoor creature comforts you’re used to.

Jackery solar generators bring modern convenience to every outdoor adventure, with a solution for every expedition you can dream of.

The backyard or RV adventure

Imagine a movie night in your backyard or air conditioning in the RV. For those who want to power a backyard party or an extended RV trip, the Jackery Solar Generator 5000 Plus makes it possible.

This solar generator is a true replacement for its gas counterpart, offering the same amount of power without fume emissions, noise or fuel replacements. Plus, the built‑in wheels and handle provide easy portability, and the smart app lets you monitor and control power from your phone without having to leave the firepit.

Using this solar‑powered generator, you can turn your backyard into a resort. Confidently run an electric grill, string lights, a projector, speakers and a mini‑fridge all from a single unit without a single extension cord running to your home.

Or, if you’re planning a road trip, this RV companion allows you to avoid extra gas station stops to fill up on generator fuel. Simply plug into an RV hookup, keep the AC running on a hot night, and charge at a trailhead on the way home.

The memorable tailgate or campsite adventure

If you’re a regular tailgate host or want to turn your campsite into a festive basecamp, the

Jackery HomePower 3600 Plus can bring the party to a parking lot or campground.

Find the best tailgate parking and easily set up a TV, sound system, electric grill and small refrigerator. Now, you can watch the game in style while enjoying a cold drink and making burgers and hot dogs for friends and family as you cheer your team on.

If you want to be the talk of the park, bring this solar‑powered generator while camping, and invite your neighbors for a movie night under the stars, a dance party around the fire or a cookout where the only thing anyone will smell is the aroma of perfectly grilled food without a whiff of gas. It also comes with a dedicated 30A RV port, so you can plug directly into your camper or trailer and power lights, appliances and electronics without a single adapter.

Best of all, you won’t have to worry about charging or performing maintenance on your generator before your tailgate or camping trip. Thanks to Jackery’s ZeroDrain technology, the HomePower 3600 Plus can sit quietly in your garage all year and still retain 95% charge, so you’ll have one less task to check off your party to‑do list.

The last‑minute, spontaneous adventure

The sun is shining and the beach is calling, so there’s no time to waste. Luckily, the lightweight Jackery Explorer 2000 v2 is the perfect grab‑and‑go portable energy solution that you can toss in the trunk.

As the lightest 2‑kilowatt‑per‑hour power station on the market (weighing in at just 39.5 pounds), you’ll be able to rethink where you can go and what you can do when you get there. Whether you’re loading up the car for a last‑minute beach trip, camping weekend or picnic in the park, you’ll have enough power to play tunes on the beach, create a workspace at a campsite or use a real coffee maker on a road trip.

If you forget to charge your power station, don’t worry. The Explorer 2000 v2 goes from empty to ready in under two hours, so you can answer the call of the wild, even during a late Friday afternoon. Plus, the whisper‑quiet operation means that you won’t disturb your local campers or beach‑goers.

Prepared for emergencies and adventures, whenever, wherever

You may have bought it for a blackout, but a solar generator is your key to unlocking everyday fun and freedom outdoors at home, on the road and in nature. No matter where you roam, you’ll have clean, sustainable energy to power your adventures. Visit Jackery.com to explore the full lineup and find the generator that fits your outdoor journey.
