Freight Takes Flight in Western Sydney
Submit your Community Notice on/by 10th of the month, to be included in the following edition. Notices may be edited or omitted due to space limitations. E: info@districtgazette.com.au
A Qantas plane laden with AusPost parcels was the first freight plane to take off from Western Sydney International Airport recently. The new cargo precinct is a big boost to Sydney’s aviation cargo capacity, with extensive warehousing space which will ultimately cater for up to 1.8 million tonnes of air cargo annually. Stage one of the precinct will be able to cater for up to eight wide-body freighters like 747s or 16 narrow-body domestic freighters like 737s or A321s at the same time. WSI’s cargo precinct will be utilised by Qantas Freight, Menzies Aviation, dnata Cargo, dnata Catering & Retail and Texel Air. This modern cargo hub will support businesses and strengthen supply chains as Western Sydney is connected to the world. Western Sydney International Airport’s freight operations will be joined by regular passenger services from 11:00am 25 October 2026, when Jetstar’s sold-out inaugural flight JQ362 takes off from Western Sydney bound for the Gold Coast. Western Sydney’s new 24-hour airport is the centrepiece of the Albanese Labor Government’s near $18 billion investment in Western Sydney, including the future Sydney Metro Airport rail connection and significant road upgrades to nearby Elizabeth Drive, Fifteenth Avenue and Mamre Road. This investment builds upon benefits already delivered through the recent opening of the M12 Motorway. The entire WSI project has created over 12,800 jobs, half of which have come from the local area. More than $500 million has also been invested in more than 360 Western Sydney based businesses during major construction works at WSI, including local tradies and construction companies, caterers, and security guards. “Testing at the freight precinct is now complete, and now Western Sydney International Airport is operational and welcoming freight flights. “Our first flights have arrived and are being packed and readied for departure as we speak. “It’s exciting progress as we gear up to seeing passenger flights commence on October 25” said Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government Catherine King. “The growth and demand for parcel delivery from Australia Post is continuing to grow and it’s important the infrastructure is there to support that. “Australia Post is a trusted national service that keeps our economy moving and the country connected” said Minister for Communications Anika Wells MP. “Western Sydney Airport gives freight and logistics operators the round-the-clock capacity they need in one of Australia’s fastest growing regions. “Combined with the Aerotropolis, it will mean manufacturers and exporters can move goods from factory floors to aircrafts in hours, not days - creating faster, more resilient supply chains and helping Australian businesses to compete in global markets. “This is how we build industrial capability, attract investment and cement Western Sydney as a major hub for industry, logistics and advanced manufacturing” said Minister for Industry Senator Tim Ayres. r Image/Article: Catherine King MP

$131 Million Incident Response Facility Boost for Western Sydney The Minns Labor Government is investing $131 million over the next decade to build and operate a new Incident Response Facility at Luddenham, putting trained crews on the ground to respond rapidly to crashes, breakdowns and traffic incidents. The facility will be based in Luddenham with 68 staff, including 48 permanently based on-site and additional personnel managing control room operations. It will be operational from the moment Western Sydney International Airport opens its doors to passengers later this year. One of the key roads serviced by the facility will be the new M12 Motorway, with crews also supporting motorists on The Northern Road, Mulgoa Road, Elizabeth Drive, Fifteenth Avenue and Badgerys Creek Road, as well as other roads throughout the airport precinct. The precinct covered by the facility spans more than 11,200 hectares and is expected to become a major economic hub for New South Wales in the decades ahead. The new facility will also create local jobs, with 68 positions supported through the operation, including 48 staff based at Luddenham and additional personnel supporting control room activities. The investment comes as Western Sydney continues to experience significant growth. By 2041, the airport precinct is expected to support around 11,400 new homes, create 100,000 jobs and facilitate the movement of 41 million tonnes of freight. The Minns Labor Government is delivering the infrastructure needed to support this growth, ensuring communities in Western Sydney benefit from safer roads, better transport connections and the jobs and opportunities created by the new airport. The project is being delivered in stages. Stage 1, which included establishing the site and enabling works, has now been completed. Stage 2 will deliver the new Incident Response Facility, including construction of the depot, a 38-space car park, fencing and landscaping. “Western Sydney International Airport is creating new opportunities for our region, and the Minns Labor Government is making sure local residents benefit from secure jobs along with the infrastructure our rapidly growing communities need. “Through this facility, we’re creating local jobs that will help keep traffic moving safely and support the new airport precinct to operate smoothly. “The Minns Labor Government is making sure Western Sydney’s growth is matched with the infrastructure, services and employment opportunities our communities deserve” said Deputy Premier and Minister for Western Sydney, Prue Car. r Image/Article: Prue Car MP/Jenny Aitchinson MP

Western Sydney’s Newest National Park Revealed
A new national park more than three times the size of Centennial Parklands is being created in Western Sydney in a major boost for affordable recreation and threatened wildlife. The Minns Labor Government is establishing Gulguer National Park, west of Bringelly, offering a new backyard for walkers, mountain bikers, nature lovers and our native animals to explore. As Western Sydney continues to grow, the 1,100-hectare park will give families, friends and communities a new and affordable place to enjoy the local natural beauty. The park will add around 700 hectares of new land to the existing environmentally protected areas at Bents Basin State Conservation Area and Gulguer Nature Reserve, creating a destination where recreation, conservation and Aboriginal heritage come together. Named after the swirling waters of the Nepean River, the new park will preserve significant Aboriginal cultural heritage, including rock art, Aboriginal artefacts and shelters. Gulguer National Park will protect some of Western Sydney’s most important habitat for at least 28 threatened species, including the southern greater glider, powerful owl, giant burrowing frog, eastern coastal free-tailed bat and Cumberland and Dural land snails. It will also provide stronger protection for the critically
endangered Shale Sandstone Transition Forest and Sydney Turpentine-Ironbark Forest. Land acquired through the Cumberland Plain Conservation Plan is helping create Gulguer National Park, which protects important habitat while supporting the delivery of around 73,000 new homes in Western Sydney. This is the second national park in Western Sydney to be delivered by the Minns Government. The first is Warranmadhaa National Park along the Georges River between Long Point and Appin. NSW’s network of around 900 parks and reserves hosted a record 65.6 million visits last year, showing just how much families, communities and visitors value time outdoors. “For too long, families in Western Sydney have missed out on access to outdoor spaces that other parts of the city take for granted. “That’s why the Minns Labor Government is delivering the quality recreational areas Western Sydney communities deserve while protecting our local wildlife and natural heritage. “At a time when families are under pressure, this new National Park will give locals a world-class destination right in their own backyard” said Deputy Premier of New South Wales and Minister for Western Sydney, Prue Car.

Art Keeps Our Community Grounded
support.
The arrival of our new international airport marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for our region. Growth will bring new opportunities, but it also reminds us of the importance of protecting the places and people that give our community its identity. This year’s Art Trail, taking place over the weekend of 19-20 September, is a perfect example. Featuring eight local artists working in photography, painting, sculpture, and wood burning, the event celebrates creativity in the remaining green belt, a landscape that continues to inspire artists and provide a place for the community to gather. The Art Trail is more than exhibiting art. It supports local artists, encourages visitors to explore our region, and reminds us that culture grows from the places we value. As our community changes, events like this help ensure that progress is matched by a continued appreciation for our natural environment and creative spirit. The airport may connect us to the world, but it is our artists, our green spaces, and our shared stories that tell visitors who we are. With the Art Trail only a couple of weeks away, now is the time to put the dates in your diary, pick up the trail map and spend a leisurely day exploring studios, chatting with makers, discovering original works and enjoying some of the most picturesque scenery in Western Sydney. For more information, follow Mulgoa Valley Art Trail on Facebook and Instagram. A New Chapter for Retirement Living in the Heart of Oran Park As Oran Park continues to grow, a new generation of residents is helping shape what the area will look like in the coming years. Among them will be older Australians looking to stay close to the places, people and lifestyle they love. The Saxon, a new community being developed near Oran Park Town Centre, is bringing an innovative approach to retirement living. It combines independence with connection and sophisticated community living with the convenience of having everything close by. “The Saxon is an important development for Oran Park because it recognises that retirement living needs to evolve alongside the communities it serves,” says Tim Grover, National Sales Director. “It’s not simply about providing somewhere to live; it’s about creating a place where people can remain connected to their community while enjoying an active lifestyle.” At the heart of The Saxon is a collection of shared spaces designed to encourage residents to come together. A dedicated concierge provides a warm welcome in the grand entrance hall, while the club lounge offers a relaxed setting for catching up with neighbours over a coffee, a game of billiards or a drink at the stylish bar. There’s also an elegant wine room, boutique cinema and a rooftop garden. The choice extends to the residences themselves, with thoughtfully designed apartments and luxurious Signature Collection residences. Residents can choose a home that reflects their lifestyle and what matters most to them. “The Saxon is where retirement living is heading,” Tim says. “It’s contemporary, connected and designed around how people want to live today.” On Thursday 24 September, from 2pm, The Saxon is holding a launch event with a celebrity guest speaker, at the Oran Park Hotel, 81 Central Avenue. You can RSVP on 0460 862 012 or live@thesaxon.com.au. To find out more, visit thesaxon.com.au r Image/Article Supplied

Community Spirit Helps Restore Wallacia’s Entrance
If you’ve driven into Wallacia from Mulgoa Road recently, you may have noticed the village entrance looking a little cleaner and more welcoming. Behind the transformation is one dedicated local resident with a vision to make Wallacia a place the whole community can be proud of. The Wallacia Golf Club and the Catholic Church donated a skip bin, which enabled years of accumulated rubbish, old tyres and general waste to be removed from the entrance. The historic 1958 fence has also been restored using recycled materials, giving the area a fresh new look while preserving a piece of the village’s heritage. The next goal is simple: keep the grass mowed beneath the Wallacia sign and maintain the entrances so it continues to reflect the pride residents have in their village. There is still plenty of work to be done, however, and the project isn’t intended to be a one-person effort. Some locals have already offered support, donating nails, screws and even a farm gate. What is needed most now is more helping hands. Whether you can spare an hour, lend some practical skills or contribute materials, every contribution will help. Together, the community can continue improving Wallacia and ensure the village entrance is something everyone can take pride in. After all, a beautiful village begins with a community willing to work together. Call Graham: 0418 292651 r Image/Article: Kathleen Dan

School Readiness Starts Long Before Kindergarten When parents think about preparing their child for Kindergarten, it is easy to focus on the basics: recognising letters, counting to ten or writing their name. While these early academic skills are important, true school readiness is about so much more. Children thrive when they begin school feeling confident, curious and secure. The ability to make friends, follow routines, communicate their ideas, solve problems and approach new experiences with confidence lays the foundation for a positive and successful start to their learning journey. The year before Kindergarten is an important time of growth. It is when children develop the social and emotional skills that support learning for years to come. Through purposeful play, guided discovery and meaningful interactions, they learn to collaborate with others, build resilience, develop independence and foster a
genuine love of learning. At Mamre Anglican School, our Pre-Kindergarten program has been thoughtfully designed to nurture every aspect of a child’s development. Learning experiences are carefully planned to spark curiosity while building confidence and essential school readiness skills. Children participate in literacy and numeracy activities, creative exploration, outdoor learning and opportunities to ask questions, investigate ideas and discover the world around them. Being part of a Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12 school community also offers children a unique advantage. Long before their first day of Kindergarten, our Pre-Kindergarten students become familiar with the people and places that make up school life. Whether they’re visiting the library, participating in music lessons, attending Chapel or joining whole-school events, they develop a strong sense of belonging that helps make the transition to Kindergarten both exciting and reassuring. We also recognise that every child develops at their own pace. Our experienced educators work closely with families to understand each child’s individual strengths and interests, creating a nurturing environment where every learner feels known, valued and encouraged to grow. School readiness is not about rushing childhood or expecting children to know everything before they start school. It’s about giving them the confidence, resilience and enthusiasm to embrace learning with joy. If you are beginning to think about your child’s educational journey, we invite you to experience Mamre Anglican School at our upcoming Open Night on Tuesday 8 September 2026. Explore our campus, meet our dedicated educators and discover how our Contemporary, Creative and Christian approach helps children build confidence, curiosity and a lifelong love of learning. Stay tuned to our social media channels for further details about the evening. Families are also welcome to book a personalised school tour to explore our purpose-built Pre-Kindergarten learning spaces and learn how our program can give their child the best possible start. r Image/Article Supplied by Mamre Anglican School

Four Years of Community Trust for Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital is celebrating an incredible milestone, after being named Outstanding Pet Care at the 2026 Penrith Local Business Awards for the fourth consecutive year. For owner and veterinarian Dr. Camille Brandt, the recognition is particularly meaningful because it begins with the support of clients who nominate the practice before finalists are assessed against a rigorous set of judging criteria by the awards committee. “To know that our community continues to support and believe in what we do is incredibly humbling,” Dr. Camille said. “This award belongs to every member of our team, whose compassion, dedication and commitment make a difference to the lives of pets and their families every single day.” As a proudly family-owned and independent veterinary hospital, Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital has earned a reputation for personalised care, honest advice and treating every patient as though they were one of the family. Since relocating to its purpose-built hospital in 2019, the practice has continued to grow while maintaining the welcoming, countrystyle atmosphere that clients value. The award recognises the dedication of the entire team, whose commitment extends beyond consultations and surgery to include puppy preschool, community education and outreach programs that promote responsible pet ownership and improve animal welfare. Winning the Outstanding Pet Care Award for a fourth consecutive year is a remarkable achievement and a reflection of the trust the Penrith community has placed in Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital. Dance enthusiasts and complete beginners alike are invited to step onto the dance floor for a unique community fundraiser on Saturday, 17 October 2026 at Workers Hubertus Country Club, Luddenham. The Dance Gala will showcase a variety of dance styles including Modern Jive, Line Dancing, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Salsa, Bachata, Cha Cha and Square Dancing, with introductory lessons throughout the afternoon followed by an evening of social dancing. Hosted in support of the Lions Club of Wollondilly, the event aims to raise funds for a new initiative for participants with additional needs and their carers to experience events and activities involving movement and music. The Dance Gala will be a platform to bring together dancers from all different clubs and styles, while introducing newcomers to the fun, friendship and health benefits of social and partner dancing. Organisers Lynda and Vin hope the Gala will become an annual celebration of community spirit, encouraging people of all ages and experience levels to connect through dance. Entry to the event will be paid at the door on the evening and the cost is $15 for visitors or $10 for members of Workers (includes Workers Blacktown, Workers Hubertus and Workers Sports). With raffle prizes, lucky door prizes, plus a popularity-vote dance competition and 100% of all proceeds supporting the Lions Club of Wollondilly, it’s an opportunity to enjoy a fantastic afternoon and evening while making a difference. Everyone is welcome. Come alone, bring a partner or gather a group of friends. For more than information, contact Lynda 0412 414190 or Vin 0407 040004. Donations warmly welcomed. r Image/Article: Vin Pirrello

Enrich Your Senior Life As we age it’s important to stay active, connect with others and feel a sense of purpose. With this in mind, have you considered joining your local Silverdale Probus Club? Silverdale Probus Club has now been running for 3 years, has 50 members who are enjoying fun activities and new or renewed friendships in our community. They welcome retired and semi-retired people of Silverdale, Warragamba, Wallacia, Mulgoa, Luddenham and surrounding areas. If you are in a rut at home, feeling lonely and need social opportunities to engage in meaningful, productive activities, get involved with their group of enjoyment seeking seniors who appreciate life. Their monthly meetings occur every 3rd Tuesday of the month, at Warragamba Workers Club, where they discuss Club business, followed by morning tea, lucky door prizes and a guest speaker to entertain and inform them about their experiences. Meetings begin at 10:00am sharp and end at approximately 11:30am. After the meeting, some members stay back and have lunch together. Their Club members regularly enjoy their walking group, craft group and morning tea and lunch outings. Day trips and three-day bus trips are very popular, and with a group of fun-loving members is a big plus. They have recently enjoyed a cooking class, bonsai class, Christmas wreath making class, and a Paint and Sip class. They have travelled to Manly, Hyde Park Barracks, and the Zig Zag Railway. Adding to this, lunch at Taste of India, Brownlow Hill Café, Oran Park Hotel, Thai Restaurant at Mulgoa, St Patricks Day at Camden Valley Inn and Gledswood Winery for Christmas in July. Morning Melodies at The Joan in Penrith is very popular as well as their barefoot bowling days at Penrith Bowling Club. They still have many places to visit, and the suggestions come from their members. In September, they will travel to the beautiful Blue Mountains for their spring flower gardens. Lots to do, don’t be bashful, come and join their wonderful, friendly club, you won’t be disappointed. HEALTH MATTERS Article Written + Submitted by: Andreas Klein Nutritionist + Remedial Therapist from Beautiful Health + Wellness P: 0418 166 269
Is Core Strengthening Good for Lower Back Pain? From previous articles, you’ve probably gleaned that tight/ inflamed lower back muscles and connective tissue are the cause of most chronic back pain, either directly or indirectly. If you’ve suffered from chronic back pain, then you may have come across the conventional wisdom which: 1. attributes ‘poor core strength’ as a cause of back pain … and 2. promotes ‘core strengthening as the solution’. I regularly see clients who have come in with long-standing ‘chronic’ back pain, many of whom have been doing prescribed core-strengthening exercises religiously. In some cases, these exercises helped for a while; in others, they did not. Either way, their back pain has remained. This is because the core-strength theory is fundamentally flawed. Here’s why: Although an inflamed back can be due to many causes, let’s look at an acute injury such as a ruptured disc. When a person has such an injury to the spine, the back muscles and connective tissue swell, become inflamed, and lock up around the injury. It’s a standard protective mechanism that’s described in any standard medical text. Once the muscles become inflamed and tighten, in most cases (unless work is done to de-inflame and lengthen the muscles), they’ll remain tight and inflamed. If disc
18 September 2026 www.mulgoagazette.com.au
protrusion exists, it will likely remain protruded. Doing strength work will build muscle but will also lead to muscles shortening and reduced range of motion unless regular stretching of the same muscles occurs. Doing religious corestrengthening exercises will tighten the core muscles. In the case of a back injury involving a slipped disc, where the back is already tight and maintaining a disc in the protruded position, this is exactly the last thing one should normally do. Key to remediating this type of back injury is to do the following: 1. Stop doing core-strengthening exercises for now. 2. Get remedial deep-tissue therapy to de-inflame/lengthen the muscles. 3. Perform daily core stretching. 4. Start core strengthening only once the injured disc tissue has healed. 5. Carry out core strengthening only with concurrent core stretching to guard against re-injury. If you have a problem with a back injury, why not come and talk to us at BHW – see our ad for contact details. r ** Refer to submitter for references

Our pets are cherished members of the family, providing companionship, comfort and unconditional love. While sharing our lives with animals brings countless benefits, it’s also important to understand that some diseases can be passed between animals and people. These are known as zoonotic diseases. The good news is that the risk of catching a zoonotic disease from a well-cared-for pet is generally very low. With regular veterinary care, good hygiene and a few simple precautions, you can help keep both your family and your pets healthy. One of the most common zoonotic concerns is intestinal worms, including roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms. These parasites can be transmitted through contaminated soil, water or contact with infected animals. While infections in people are uncommon, they can cause stomach upset, skin irritation and other health problems. Keeping your pet on a regular worming program is one of the simplest and most effective ways to reduce this risk. Another condition people often hear about is ringworm. Despite its name, ringworm isn’t caused by a worm at all. It’s a fungal infection that affects the skin, producing red, itchy, circular patches in both animals and people. It spreads through direct contact with infected animals or contaminated environments. If your pet develops areas of hair loss or skin lesions, it’s important to have them examined by your veterinarian promptly.
Leptospirosis is a bacterial disease spread through the urine of infected animals, including rodents and wildlife. People and pets can become infected through contaminated water or soil, particularly if bacteria enter the body through cuts or the eyes, nose or mouth. Vaccination is available for dogs and plays an important role in reducing the risk of this potentially serious disease. Some skin conditions can also be passed between pets and people. Sarcoptic mange, often called scabies, is caused by microscopic mites that burrow into the skin, leading to intense itching. Prompt veterinary treatment not only helps your pet recover but also reduces the chance of the mites spreading to other animals or family members. Cat owners should also be aware of Cat Scratch Disease, a bacterial infection that can occasionally develop after a scratch or bite from an infected cat. Most cases are mild, but washing any scratches or bites thoroughly with soap and water and avoiding rough play can help minimise the risk. Another well-known zoonotic disease is toxoplasmosis; a parasite commonly associated with cats that hunt prey. Although many people have heard of it, the risk of infection from household cats is often lower than people think. Good litter tray hygiene, wearing gloves when gardening and thoroughly cooking meat all help reduce exposure. Pregnant women and people with weakened immune systems should take extra precautions and discuss any concerns with their healthcare provider. Fortunately, preventing zoonotic diseases is straightforward. Wash your hands after handling pets or cleaning up after them, dispose of pet waste appropriately, keep vaccinations and parasite prevention up to date, and schedule regular veterinary health checks. These simple measures go a long way towards protecting everyone in the household. If you have questions about parasite prevention, vaccinations or protecting your family from zoonotic diseases, speak with the team at Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital. We’re always happy to help. FAITH – GRACE WEST ANGLICAN CHURCH Article Written + Submitted by: Senior Minister Christopher Braga P: 47331635 A: 2265 Silverdale Rd, Silverdale NSW 2752 W: www.gracewest.church Service Times: Sundays @ 9.30am
The Justice We Crave There’s something very satisfying about the end of Die Hard 1. After all the explosions and gunfire, the evil Hans Gruber finally gets what’s coming to him. He reaches for Holly’s watch, loses his grip, and falls from the roof of Nakatomi Plaza. Justice. It’s a universal thing, justice. We all seem to have a strong sense of it. We want the bad guy caught. We want people held accountable. We want victims to be vindicated. When justice doesn’t happen, we instinctively know that something is wrong. The Bible says that this instinct isn’t accidental. God is a God of justice, and he made us to know right from wrong. He’s even given governments the responsibility of punishing wrongdoing and protecting what is good. That’s part of why we have police, courts and laws. Governments don’t always get it right, but the responsibility to pursue justice
comes from God. And the Bible says that one day God himself will bring perfect justice. Nothing will be missed. Every wrong will be dealt with. Every person will stand before him. That sounds like good news, until you realise that we’re not spectators in the courtroom. We are the perpetrators! We have all failed to live by God’s good standards. We have all done things we shouldn’t have done and neglected things we should have done. So what we really need is mercy. And that is why Jesus matters. Through Jesus, God graciously offers forgiveness to people like us who need it so badly. v Image: www.pixabay.com
LATEST @ LUDDENHAM Article Written + Submitted by: Wayne Willmington E: c/- info@districtgazette.com.au | Subject ‘Latest @ Luddenham’
Western Sydney International (Nancy Bird Walton) Airport reached another historic milestone on 27 July with the official opening of its 24-hour Cargo Precinct by Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development Catherine King. The first commercial freight operations commenced immediately, marking a significant boost for Australia’s supply chains, domestic producers and manufacturers, and Western Sydney’s rapidly expanding economy. WSI CEO Simon Hickey said the airport’s state of the art cargo hub will unlock new opportunities for Greater Sydney’s businesses, workers and broader logistics networks as it connects Western Sydney to global markets. The launch underscored the national importance of the precinct and cemented Luddenham’s role at the centre of Australia’s newest aviation gateway. Some locals have raised urgent concerns about aircraft noise now impacting residents since the airport began operating
20 September 2026 www.mulgoagazette.com.au
night flights. Although the WSI Noise Insulation Program has been planned for years, the rollout has only just begun and is progressing far too slowly for households already experiencing severe disruption. The Luddenham Progress Association is calling for the immediate acceleration of insulation works and a fair process allowing affected homes outside the current contour map to also apply for assistance. The Association has written to Federal Minister Catherine King. The Luddenham Progress Association is seeking support from our State MPs to establish a small Memorial Park in Luddenham to honour our local servicemen and women. Before The Northern Road was widened in the 1980s, memorial trees planted prior to 1950 stood near Adams Road in recognition of our war heroes. These trees were removed during roadworks and, despite assurances from the RTA, were never replanted. With a suitable parcel of State-owned land now available between Eaton Road and the new Northern Road alignment, the Association believes this is the perfect opportunity to restore a meaningful place of remembrance for those who served and those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Work is progressing well on installing the trunk sewer mains to our village. However, despite this visible progress, Sydney Water has advised that there are currently no plans to connect existing Luddenham Village homes as part of the Aerotropolis infrastructure program. Residents have been told they must fund their own minor service extensions until future rezoning and servicing pathways are resolved, a disappointing outcome after more than 40 years of advocacy. The Luddenham Progress Association is now calling on both Penrith and Liverpool Councils to support a coordinated, funded connection plan so that long standing households are not left behind while surrounding precincts receive full servicing. v Federal Minister for Infrastructure, Transport & Regional Development, Catherine King, opens the 24 hr cargo precinct at WSI Airport | Image Supplied

As spring draws closer, there is a renewed sense of optimism throughout our community. Longer days, warmer weather and busy community calendars remind us that every season brings fresh opportunities. Each month we have the privilege of sharing stories about local businesses, volunteers, sporting clubs and community groups who continue making a positive difference. Their commitment and perseverance help create stronger, more connected neighbourhoods and inspire others to do the same. These stories remind us that progress is not always immediate, but every positive action contributes to something greater. It is this shared community spirit that makes our region such a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. Thank you for continuing to support District Gazette and for allowing us to celebrate the people and achievements that make our local communities so special. “Nothing can dim the light that shines from within.” Maya Angelou
