INTERPRETATION MINISTRY
Members of our Latino Affinity Group, led by Susana Marin and Carly Pappanastos, have been praying for ways to reach Spanish speakers in DC. From those prayers and collaboration, a new Interpretation Ministry was birthed!
"I had been asking God to provide opportunities for me to use my gifts and skills to foster the Kingdom of God where I live, so when I heard Susana mention in the Latino small group that there was a desire to open the church up to the Latinos of DC, I started praying about it and eventually told her I was interested in participating," said Carly. We have seen great fruit since we started the ministry on Easter Sunday. A family visiting for the first time came forward for prayer, and one rededicated their life to Christ.

We hear a message in their
“I'm reminded of 2 Corinthians 4:15, "For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people, it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God,"
"The good gifts that God has given The District Church are now being shared more widely with the Latinos in our community at The District Church, and soon to be shared with the wider community of Latinos in DC. These shared gifts result in thanksgiving and praise, and God is glorified.” said Carly. Bilingual volunteers sit in the sound booth on Sunday with a transmitter and headset and interpret the service in Spanish live. Spanish speakers can pick up headphones at the sound booth to listen. Today they have 12 volunteers to interpret. Both Carly and Susana say tht this Is Important because there are few to no Spanish speaking churches in DC, yet there are many Latinos not only in the city but In North West DC, where we worship every week. We hope that God will make this ministry a beacon of hope and joy that brings healing and life to the immigrants in our church and our city.
