TOASTMASTER CHATTER • Majcher Citation Mark Majcher, CTM/CL from Club 9269, received a 2002 Presidential Citation from International President Alfred Herzing for his “TOPICAL TIPS” column for the Toastmaster magazine. Majcher is a member of ToastSTARS Toastmasters, a Northrop Gruman Club in Melbourne, Fla. Only four other District 47 members have earned the honor: 2001 Karl Righter, DTM; 1989 David Meeks, DTM, 1988 Ann Tillman, DTM; and 1986 Frank Tillman, DTM. Majcher was honored at the Hall of Fame ceremonies at the 2002 Toastmasters International Convention in San Antonio, Tex.
• Advanced Club If you are a CTM within three speeches of obtaining your ATM-B and interested in joining an the Advanced Toastmasters Club of Central Florida, now’s your chance. The Club, which meets at Panera Bread in Lake Mary, Fla., is a great opportunity to receive in-depth evaluations and present some of

Conference registration for Toastmasters is $90 per person, $110 after May 2. For non-Toastmasters, the fee is $80 per person, $100 after May 2. See registration form on page 6. Conference highlights you won’t want to miss include the Communication and Leadership luncheon, Communication and Leadership awards presentation, enlightening educational workshops, the District Council meeting and election of District Officers to serve from July 1, 2003, to June 30, 2004. But the favorite events are the Friday night Table Topics Contest and Saturday evening International Speech Contest. Winners of Club events compete at the Area level then Division. Both winners go on to compete at the District 47 Spring Conference, with the winner of the International Speech Contest moving on to the Region VIII Contest. Come cheer on your favorite! The winner of that event competes for the title “World Champion of Public Speaking” at the International Convention in Atlanta Aug. 23.
