The Tag Ladies Estate and Liquidation Sales, LLC was established in 2006 as a mother-daughter team with over 70 years combined experience in estate sales. Peggy helped establish and build The Pickens Auction Company. Shelley worked in the family auction business for many years. Peggy retired in 2012 from The Tag Ladies. The tradition of family continues as Shelley’s husband Sammie and daughter, Samantha has been helping with sales since The Tag Ladies began. Shelley explains “My mom and I got to work side by side for the first five years and I would not trade those years for anything. My daughter, husband, and I get to work together now. I have amazing employees.” The Tag Ladies’ staff is made up of family and close family friends. Having a second team, TEAM 2 helps The Tag Ladies run two sales on the same weekend, same great service to help your family liquidate your estate.

The Tag Ladies provide complete estate liquidations. If you do not have enough for a sale, they have a 40x60 metal building that they use to combine smaller estates for one big sale. The Tag Ladies sales can be Living Estate, Moving, Estate, Liquidation, downsizing sales, offering fair market value appraisals. Shelley explains “I have met so many wonderful people either as clients or customers so that is a big plus. I love learning the history of the families and their belongings.”

We asked Shelley what advice she would have for other women starting out. Shelley says to find something you love doing. Find your passion and run with it. Check with your local Technology Centers for guidance, training, and other resources in your area. Shelley explained My mom always said that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so always be nice. Find a woman you admire to mentor you. Women in Business have to be honest and willing to go the extra mile, try not to take themselves too seriously.
