The City of Pawnee is accepting applications Animal Control Officer. This is a part time position with all the duties and responsibilities as such. The City of Pawnee will provide the employee uniforms, equipment, vehicle, training and any other items needed to successfully perform the requirements of Animal Control Officer. Applicants should be able to perform the following tasks: •Regularly lift animals/Items weighing up to 50Lbs. • Maintain regularly scheduled maintenance on supplied vehicle and equipment • Oversee and maintain the function and cleanliness of the Animal Control Facility (Scooping Poop, Mowing, Weed Eating, Cleaning, Repairs, Etc) • Able to attend and successfully pass the Oklahoma Animal Control School We expect the right candidate to be proactive, respectful of the community and to have a positive attitude. Preferred skills and traits: Computer proficiency, familiarity with MS Office, communication and public speaking skills, willingness to learn and the ability to work in a team. Duties include, but not limited to, operation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of the water and wastewater treatment plants, collection and distribution systems, wells and booster pump stations. Must be able to lift 50 lbs., work from ladders, and in confined spaces as well as extreme heights, and in ditches. Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and in emergencies, as well as, extreme weather conditions. Must be able to work as an “on call” operator after training period is complete. Must be able to wear a respirator and or an S.C.B.A.
