Big Interview
President
It’s all change in Altrincham! The Chamber has now moved into our new permanent premises on Regent Road, Altrincham. Its good to be back in the Town Centre after a few months in temporary accommodation after our premise fell victim to a leak. The transformation of Altrincham has started, and like many of you I feel its about time too!! We live and work in what was once a thriving town centre and a destination for many shoppers who wanted to visit the bustling shops, many of which were unique to Altrincham and they were family run independents. We see our town centre with less shoppers, partly due to the out of town shopping venues and the demise of the independent through either competition or retirement. Our town centre has fallen victim to the recession and to the changes in our nations shopping habits as a whole. As individuals we can support the remaining businesses in the area and as a Chamber we can work with the businesses to represent them to Trafford developers and planners to ensure our views and wishes are heard. We held a very successful presentation at Altrincham Town Hall with Trafford Council and Altrincham Forward last month to ensure the residents and traders in Altrincham were heard and fully aware of the plans for Altrincham. This is a format we intend to repeat to promote your views and work towards transforming our town. We cannot afford to make mistakes when the different parts of the jigsaw which will be the ‘new’ Altrincham, are being put together. Altrincham has been chosen as one of only seven towns across the country to receive a slice of the Government’s £1m High Street Renewal Award, which recognises the innovative ways high streets are being revitalized

New machinery keeps business ahead of the game Since taking over the business in 2008, Brian Thornhill has applied his strategic directorship style to grow the Altrincham branch of Prontaprint under his own independent management. His recent investment in new machinery will allow clients to have extremely high quality large format printing for indoor and outdoor use. The new machinery, which uses twelve different inks to get the exact colour output, has already been used to produce some outstanding graphics for several clients of Prontaprint Altrincham, including roll up banners, pop up banners, external banners, canvas printing, posters, and window graphics.

Boost for Mediation centre Family Mediation Manchester Limited has received another boost from Government policy which now expects separated or divorcing couples to meet with a mediator prior to going to Court. Information meetings are an opportunity for each party to find out about the suitability of mediation, which helps couples to work together, to resolve the whole range of issues which arise on separation. All our accredited mediators come from legal, court welfare and other therapeutic backgrounds. If both parties choose to mediate, we set up a series of round table meetings. The mediator, who remains impartial, assists both parties to negotiate fair financial settlements, and workable arrangements for children, which prioritise their welfare. Mediation offers an opportunity to talk frankly, and negotiate safely, working together to reduce conflict and tension; and craft fair and constructive solutions for all family members.
Report findings are welcomed Hale-based doctor Sarah Norman has welcomed the findings of a recent report into the lack of regulation in the cosmetic procedures industry. Sir Bruce Keogh, Medical Director of the NHS, conducted an independent review and concluded that regulation has failed to keep pace with the growth in procedures, leaving patients vulnerable. The offer of treatments at beauty or hairdressing salons, and at beauty ‘parties’, came in for particular criticism.
separated parenting, and maintaining channels of communication whilst minimising conflict is always important for parents. We help parents to define workable arrangements for moving forward and draw up summaries recording joint decisions.
Dr Norman runs a specialist clinic in Altrincham, called BrightNewMe, where she undertakes non-surgical cosmetic procedures, and prescription skincare treatments, and fully supports the review’s findings.
We also mediate about all the financial issues which arise on separation -dealing with joint liabilities, ongoing arrangements for maintenance and occupation of the family home, as well as long term arrangements for dividing family assets; the value in the family home, business assets, savings and pensions
She said: “In the right hands, the use of Botox and dermal fillers can be wonderfully effective in eliminating unwanted lines and wrinkles but it should not be forgotten that these are medical procedures, and complications can occur. As such, for the safety of the general public, treatments of this kind should only be administered by an appropriately trained medical practitioner, in a suitably safe clinical environment”.

“What do 15M people a year buy in Altrincham ? The answer comes from one of our guest speakers at the latest Chamber “Breakfast Matters”, held in the Cresta Court on 6 June. It.But more in a moment. Over 30 local businesses attended. We ate breakfast, listened to twostimulating presentations, applauded the winner of the prize draw and, as always with the Chamber, networked. First on was James Lomax, the Business Manager for the NatWest bank in Altrincham. He told us about their business banking services, crafted with our type of business in mind. The one we all liked was NatWest’s return to face-to-face banking. It’s a better way to discuss finance – it always was… Next was Nick Payne of Nikal Ltd, who described the Altair development. At last, they now have the land get started on the £60M plan and build. Of course, we all know what it is going to look like - so Nick put us right.
10
CheshireVoice
CV 04.indd 10
There will be a brand new Leisure Centre; the Ice Rink will not be demolished but re-covered; and Altair will flow in to the new Interchange. New shops, restaurants and cafes will encourage people to linger and relax rather than dash on through. It was impressive and it can’t come too soon. Lastly, we enviously clapped Graeme Armitage of Graphic Design who won the meal for two at Dettori’s Restaurant, Cresta Court. Thank you Angela Grace of the Cresta for the prize and for breakfast. Angela gave us breaking news of their major refurbishment. We’ll see its progress at our next Breakfast Matters on 4 July. And what’s bought by 15M people each year in Altrincham? It’s crisps and chocolate by those dashing through Altrincham to and from work. An amazing figure from Nick Payne, who wants as many of these to linger at Altair and spend more in Altrincham.

The Way Forward for Altrincham The Chamber and Altrincham Forward teamed up to host a session for businesses about the actions which are underway to revitalise the town centre in the short, medium and long term. The event at Altrincham Town Hall was very well attended and chaired by Chamber President, Sue Aldridge. Businesses had the opportunity to hear about the progress which is being made on major transformational projects in the town. These included the new hospital and the enhanced transport interchange as well as the appointment in the summer of a new operator for the Market – which is seen as essential if Altrincham is to be a destination of choice for visitors, businesses and local people.
L-R: Dr Jackie Campbell; Cllr Matt Colledge; Theresa Grant, and Sue Aldridge,
Substantial work is also underway to improve the environment of the town and Theresa Grant, Chief Executive of Trafford Council, confirmed that proposals to improve the appearance and movement within the town had been carried out. Jackie Campbell, Board Member, highlighted the proposals for events in Altrincham and the positive impact which the Alty Xmas campaign had on footfall and business. She encouraged businesses to be actively involved in the future of the town and to contact the Chamber for information at 17 Regent Road, Altrincham WA14 1RY or contact Paul Mirage on 07708 987518. Cllr Matt Colledge, Chair of Altrincham Forward, confirmed Trafford Council’s commitment to Altrincham and to supporting businesses by continuing the cheapest car parking in Greater Manchester. The new loan fund to help businesses start up in vacant town centre units was highlighted as an innovative way of bringing new life into the town as well as providing business with support when they need it. Details of the loan scheme and public realm work can be found on the Altrincham Forward website www.altrinchamforward.com and on the Chamber website www.altrinchamchamber.co.uk

Using this recently completed project to create a high quality kitchen and living space, Jeff Atkins talks about the concepts of flexibility and adaptability. What is meant by ‘flexible’ and ‘adaptable’? These words are frequently used by architects and property professionals and are often used imprecisely, and sometimes interchangeably. Increasingly the words are used to help businesses gain better use of the office space and improve business performance. In domestic situations homeowners are seeking enhanced living conditions. When we carry out internal alterations and additions to dwellings that express and accommodate different patterns of life, the ability to easily accept these changes is what we call flexibility. When we carry out wholesale changes of use which could reflect an evolving urban or commercial context, the ability to respond to these influences is what we call adaptability. Thus we might convert a Victorian mill or warehouse into apartments.
14 Lloyd Street, Altrincham, WA14 2DE
In the example shown, the original configuration included a small kitchen, small conservatory and an internal morning room. With the walls removed, the living, dining and kitchen facilities are provided in one space with views of the south facing garden. The layout enables the dining and seating arrangements to be changed very quickly to accommodate different requirements for family gatherings. The larger open plan space is now inherently flexible.
At the Zip Yard we offer: • Clothing alterations • Dress re-styling • Garment repairs • A tailoring service • And we offer a 1 hour express service for zips, hems and minor repairs We also have on-site fitting rooms, no appointments required.
Jeff Atkins was the Architect for the homeowner and brought his knowledge, skills and experience to successfully achieve the project objectives.

Art event is a success Art with a Heart relaunched in their new location on Normans Place in Altrincham on Friday 17 May with a special Art Exhibition, a tribute to late Basil Morrison. Basil Morrison (1915-2012), local historian and artist was involved in many of the local organisations and societies, including the Altrincham and Sale Chamber of Commerce. He was a well-respected member of the Altrincham area. Artwork on display includes originals from private collections and limited edition prints. The prints are for sale. Graham Brady opened Art with a Heart, who also delivered a personal tribute to Basil Morrison. In his tribute he announced that one of Basil’s works proudly sits in his chambers at the House of Commons and he felt it was appropriate that Basil was remembered with the exhibition organised by Art with a Heart. Guests were entertained during the evening by talented Soprano, Scarlet Quigley. Representatives from various organisations and societies including Sue Aldridge, president of the Chamber, a number of local Councillors, including Council Leader Matthew College and supporters of Art with a Heart also attended the viewing. Both Jon and Max Morrison were on hand to discuss the works, revealing one of Basil’s intriguing secrets about his work. The evening was enjoyed by all and Karen Wroe, Project Director of Art with a Heart, commented: ‘We could not have found a better exhibition to relaunch Art with a Heart, and we were proud to be able to organise and host this event in memory of Basil. Everyone looked like they were enjoying themselves on the evening and we look forward to welcoming visitors to the Arts Centre for the Community’ The exhibition is free and is open to the general public from Thursday through to Sunday 10am - 5pm, until 2 June. Art with a Heart is also home to the Heritage of the Altrincham Area, courtesy of the Altrincham and Bowdon Civic Society

In five words or less, what do you do?
A
Sameday Couriers and Overnight Deliveries
Q
How long have you been a Chamber member?
A
Fifteen years
Q
Why did you join?
A
We used to be based in Trafford Park and be a member of Manchester Chamber so when we relocated to Altrincham we looked at the Chamber and found the staff very helpful and it was a natural choice to join and to join-in.
Q
What services do you use?
A
The Chamber magazine is a great source of information and especially the new members section to find companies who may have just moved into the area. The mixers are always great. If you telephone the Chamber, the staff have a wealth of knowledge and are always so helpful.
Q
What’s the best business/benefit you have won through the Chamber?
A
Years ago you would go around and visit customers to say hello and check how everything was going but people no longer seem to have the time or the inclination for such visits so attending the mixers, business breakfasts, showcases or the luncheons allows us to meet our customers and potential customers face to face in a friendly and functional environment.
Q
Are there any additional services or information you’d be particularly interested in?
A
We are currently interested in expanding our social media networking aspects via twitter, linkedin, facebook and youtube. It would be helpful to have some guidance on how to fully utilise such media formats and to point out the potential pitfalls.
Q
If you were telling another business person about the Chamber, what’s the first thing you would say?
A
It is a friendly and helpful environment and the networking is not a pressure, it’s a pleasure.
Q
Where do you read your copy of this magazine?

I probably read most of it in the office and then very occasionally I’ll finish it off at the Old Market Tavern with a good pint of Northern Lights and then leave my copy there for other people to read.

AUDITOR OF THE YEAR: SMES 2012 & 2013
Haines Watts wins excellence award for second year Local accountancy firm Haines Watts is celebrating success, having won Auditor of the Year in the SME category for a second time at the annual FD’s Excellence Awards. The awards recognise the service providers that support Britain’s finance community using the results of an annual survey, in which 1,380 FDs and financial decision-makers recorded their opinion. The ceremony was held in Grosvenor Square, London and hosted by Real Business in association with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and supported by the Confederation of British Industry (CBI). The award was collect by Andy Minifie, National Managing Partner at Haines Watts who won the award last year beating competition from other UK firms such as Baker Tilly, Crowe Clark Whitehill, Deloitte, RSM Tenon and Saffery Champness. John Whittick, Senior Partner at Haines Watts in Altrincham, commented: “It’s great to see Haines Watts win such a prestigious award for the second year in succession. This type of award really matters to us because it’s voted for by business people and not by an academic panel of experts. “Our core client base is owner managed businesses, so to get this endorsement from SME businesses means a great deal to us. We are proud of all of our staff who do an outstanding job for our clients day to day and who have contributed towards us winning this award.”

ASKTHEEXPERT
Ask the expert... Paul Naylor Trafford Surveys
Q I am buying a house, the bank is carrying out a free valuation – is this a survey? Answer: No. A bank valuation is a valuation by the bank purely to ascertain whether the property will provide suitable security over the next 25 years for their loan. The valuation cannot be classed as a survey and until recently the valuation was not released to the home buying public who used to commission separate, stand-alone surveys from independent local Chartered Surveyors. These are regulated by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and have to undergo a three-year full time degree, two years’ professional work within an independent practice and then a vigorous examination and professional interview in front of a board of three other peers before they become Chartered.
The different types of survey generally recommended comprise the Homebuyer’s Report and the Building Survey. A Homebuyer’s Survey is recommended for properties less than 50 years old in generally acceptable condition, for example a typical semi-detached house or modern property, flat or apartment with no known defects. The Homebuyer’s Report will look at the condition of the roof, walls, the local area and amenities, it also checks inside the roof space, fixtures and fittings and tests for dampness and any structural defects. The Homebuyer’s Report will go on to include a reinstatement insurance figure and will comment on the market valuation to ascertain if in the opinion of the Chartered Surveyor a fair price has been agreed. This will also include an open market valuation, taking into account other comparable properties and recent sales in the area.
A Building Survey is a more in-depth report, often stretching to over 40 pages, which again looks at the main structural features, however this provides a description and comments on the condition of each element of the building and then includes a statement as to the likely cost of any repairs required to these items. The amounts are then totalled to provide a summary on the estimated cost of repairs. With our reports this is further broken down into Serious Defects, Essential Repairs, Other Repairs and areas requiring Further Investigation. Some areas cannot be seen by the Surveyor during a normal inspection as we are not allowed to move fitted furniture, lift carpets or move other items of furniture, however, we use our experience to “follow the trail” and generally will not recommend further investigation unless there is good reason. Homebuyer’s Reports usually start at around £300 plus VAT and Building Surveys are from around £380 plus VAT. One final note: if the purchaser does require a valuation similar to the Homebuyer’s Report, a Building Survey can incorporate a valuation which generally involves an additional cost.

BIGINTERVIEW
Your security in their hands Martyn Bowles reflects on a career spent in the security industry.
Martyn Bowles Business Development, John Holden Security
Upon leaving school in 1977 I became an apprentice locksmith/safe engineer at Adamant Lock and Safe, based in Bradford. This was a small family company which had a very good name throughout the industry and worked for local and national clients. I learnt the trade cutting keys and making keys to locks and as time progressed moved into making keys for safe locks and refurbishing safes. I then learnt the art of safe installation and removal, opening and repairs. I evolved into working out on commercial and private premises and continued learning all the time. In 1985, I became a full member of the Master Locksmiths Association and have continued that to this day, I also started to specialise in safes at this point, and moved into sales and business development using the knowledge I had gained whilst working in the workshop. In 1994, I became a works foreman and then in 1999 I became a senior manager at Adamant and began overseeing the business and business development, working with local and national businesses including banks, building, societies, bingo halls and casinos. At this point I also started working closely with insurance companies advising them on the quality of safes needed by their end users. In 2007, I went into a managerial and technical role within the industry specialising in health and safety. I became a member of IOSH and took Nebosh exams and I continued to gain knowledge through that role. In 2012 John Holden of John Holden security retired and the company was taken over by Associated Security, I was brought in to help develop the business on a local and national basis and to introduce into John Holden’s the knowledge which I hold but also to build on the customer base and knowledge already held within the business. We will be developing and introducing new products and moving the business forward into new areas and overseeing the refurbishment of the current premises. Short term goals are to boost over the counter trade through our trade counter and to bring new custom into the shop for general key cutting and purchasing general physical security products,

we will be specialising in master locking systems. John Holden Security also offer bespoke Access Control, CCTV and Automated Gate Systems from the design stage through to completion, all projects are managed in house. We offer free on site surveys and can supply, deliver and install any make, model and size of safe and strongroom. We also specialise in bespoke door sets. John Holden Security is now part of a family business that has historically offered good value and a personal service. We have a 24/7 hotline which is genuinely manned by people who pass the job on directly to an engineer. This quality of service puts us at the top of the sector and has allowed us to grow from strength to strength. We are part of a company that started as one shop in Manchester and have grown - through impeccable reputation and the personal service that we provide - to a nationally recognised company. Challenges for the future are to move John Holden Security forward by finding new markets, new avenues and having the genuine people in place in the company that can carry out what the company promotes itself on. Our staffs’ specific skill sets mean we can offer a specialist service for automated gates, access control, CCTV, locks, keys and safes. We are working with the local community, the Altrincham and Sale chamber of commerce and local businesses to ensure the service we can provide is known throughout. Our client base ranges from private houses, to insurance companies, to property management companies and businesses. In the future we would also like to be a shop that you can pop into for all your security needs. Although our shop has always existed I don’t think it is widely known in the area so through promotion we hope to become a destination for shoppers in Altrincham. In spite of the current economic climate unfortunately today’s crime culture society has depicted that security is of a high priority for people for their safety and the security of their belongings. This is why our reliable, personal, and professional service is so important. We provide a dedicated project manager for each customer so they have one point of contact, we have unmarked vehicles for a completely confidential service and all of our engineers are CRB checked and hold CSCS cards. We ensure our engineers attend the latest training courses so that they can provide the best possible solutions to all our customers’ needs. Our motto is Your Security in Our Hands and we are proud to say that customers can literally put their security in our hands and we will deliver. We have in house specialists available to discuss any requirements that customers may have. The coming year is a year of consolidation for John Holden security, the future holds well for us as we move forward as part of the associated security group of companies.

My Boston experience... Tony Collier, Managing Director of Altrincham-based Milner Boardman Ltd and Chairman of the Chamber Board, gives a personal account of the terrible tragedy that befell people attending the Boston Marathon, when it was hit by two deadly bomb blasts in April. There are two sides to my Boston experience; firstly about the tragedy and then about the race. April 16, Boston is a little eerie today, main tourist spots very quiet, armed guards and police on most street corners, armed US Coast Guards on the ferries. Now confirmed three dead including an 8-year-old, 17 critically injured and 170+ injured. My main lasting memories of the tragedy will be the same as yours, gleaned from the TV shots, but the most amazing for me was the sight of the yellow jacketed race volunteers running straight into the bomb blast area to rescue people and runners going straight from the race to donate blood. Both truly amazing feats, one of absolute bravery and courage and one of a runners personal desire to help others. The really sad thing is how many youngsters have been affected by this, most of the runners were at the younger end of the spectrum with their friends and families supporting them. It could have been so much worse, though. If the bombs had been put in the family reunion area it would have killed hundreds. Boston is a city that is currently suffering but its amazing marathon will recover from this and come out even stronger on the other side. All I can currently feel is huge sorrow and sympathy for my fellow runners so badly affected by this and pray we never see anything like it ever again. We can’t let the terrorists win this and we all need to carry on doing exactly what we did before. This photo was taken approx. 400 yards from the bomb blast in the family reunion area. It was for me the culmination of what was, before the bomb news reached us, an amazing day. I knew that Boston marathon held iconic status and I now know why. It was incredibly well organised and superbly supported, the volunteers were absolutely incredible as were the huge crowds in all the towns along the course. The day started with a 1 hour bus journey to Hopkinton and the athletes village. I was in wave 2 of the starters and off at 10.20. The course drops 1600 feet but rises 1000, it was never flat at any time! The first 10k was quite downhill so I pushed quite hard for a 47 minute 10k and hit half way in 1.40. Just before half way I experienced the loudest noise ever on a race, the Wellesley girls college scream tunnel and their wonderful signs like “kiss me I love beards”. Mile 16 saw the first of the famous Newton hill climbs culminating in Heartbreak Hill at 20.5 miles and it is aptly named! All downhill from there but by this time the quads were screaming from all the downs and the calfs and hamstrings screaming from the ups. I
Tony Collier, Boston Marathon 2013
managed to push on to the finish which is famously described as right onto Hereford, left onto Boylston and you can see the finish arch as you turn onto Boylston but it never seemed to get closer! I realised that I needed to sprint to beat 3.25 and managed it by 1 second to record my 2nd fastest ever marathon on a course that can only be described as tough. My starting number, based on qualifying times was 12767 and I finished 7103 so picked off 5000 faster runners. 190th in age group out of way over 1000 and 4th Brit in age group. Amazed by the number of really quick female runners, over 1900 ahead of me and some very pretty bottoms to follow! All in all a fabulous day until the tragedy which will never be forgotten! Like many of the runners I ran the marathon not only as a challenge to myself but also to raise funds for an amazing charity. The Childrens Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) is our chosen charity and I thank everyone who kindly donated and helped spur me on, your kind donations have helped raise over £2,500. ‘Pinteresting’ time for the Best Western Cresta Court hotel The Best Western Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham, south Manchester, revealed the first phases of its six month refurbishment programme at a local event for PAs, business travel and conference buyers. It has now taken to the social networks with the media site ‘Pinterest’ to help spread the word to it’s guests and conference delegates from further afield. General manager Paul Hindley said: “Posting the plans on ‘Pinterest’ is a great opportunity for people to take a look at our developments as a visual ‘scrap book’ which shows the furnishing, fabric and colour concepts we
are working with. We will update the site as the refurbishment progresses, so this is something geusts can visit a few times to check on developments.” Guests can see initial details of the planned refurbishment at http://pinterest.com/crestacourt/ contemporary-hotel-bedroomdesign/ The project, which will be completed in the Autumn, will include a refurbishment of all of the 140 bedrooms which will be finished to a high standard using a strong blend of classical and contemporary design, with rich walnut furnishings and contemporary crème finishes. It also includes improvements to its soundproofing on bedroom floors, investment in general maintenance improvements and exterior signage, a re-design of the reception area and lounge bar to create a more open plan concept, and making more of a feature of the entrance to the Hotel.
New challenge for Claire Sale-based full service law firm Slater Heelis LLP has appointed Claire Palmer as its new Marketing Manager to support the company’s ongoing expansion and growth. Claire, formerly of full service marketing agency Avenue Graphic Design Ltd and the Manchester United Foundation, will be responsible for a wide range of marketing communications including advertising, website development, social media and events. She said:, “Slater Heelis is a hugely well respected name in the region and I’m really looking forward to working with every member of the team to ensure we create real stand out for our services and people. We’re working on some really exciting and innovative projects and marketing will play a key role in amplifying them.”
The décor in the 11 conference and three banqueting suites will be refreshed to give a more contemporary feel and make the most of the natural daylight, and the Dettoris restaurant will benefit from an updated décor, new furniture and carpeting to provide guests with a more modern and relaxing environment. Dave Rooney, of the design company, Luxe Interior International, said: “The hotel sits in a commercial triangle between Manchester Airport, Manchester city centre and the Cheshire countryside, so in the design we were conscious to appeal to business travellers, conference delegates and family travellers alike. So we adopted natural
hues and colour tones throughout the scheme, with a view to softening the existing lobby and bar, and with feature lighting an integral element of the new reception design. “The refurbishment of the public spaces will upgrade the Hotel to a higher standard with a combination of classic and contemporary furniture which is both robust enough for this busy leisure Hotel, but also elegant and stylish to appeal to conference and business guests. “We have carried simple lines throughout the scheme of the BEST WESTERN Cresta Court Hotel, from the vertical timber screens in the main lobby just as you enter the bar, which accentuate the height of the space, right through to the sumptuous luxurious fabrics adorning the elegant furniture in the lounge bar, bedrooms and reception areas. Crisp, clean lines have been echoed throughout this scheme.”

Businesses are feeling the squeeze on costs ●
The Jackson Report, recent changes to the Legal Aid and proposed changes to VHCC rates are having an impact on solicitors and their working practices.
●
Architects, surveyors, engineers are experiencing reduction in funding on development schemes.
●
Financial services are seeing a change in charging structures imposed by regulation, calling for a major overhaul in the way they work.
●
SMEs and startups are being squeezed from all directions.
To survive, businesses are looking to be leaner, trimmer and more efficient to compensate for a tougher market place. Is there a solution? Economic growth, more bank lending are major factors that would make a difference but are out of your control – if you could make a significant reduction in your costs would that help balance the books? Is it possible to achieve that reduction in expenditure? How can you reduce administrative costs without reducing quality of output to your clients? How can you meet the fluctuating demand of peaks and troughs in workflow in a cost effective manner - an end to over worked or under utilized staff? How, in a transition period of expansion, where workflow is increasing, can you predict or define the additional resourcing required and manage that requirement? How can a one man band reaching critical mass of workload be able to begin to delegate without suffering the expense or responsibility of taking on board an employee?
Yes, there is a solution outsourcing is an efficient, cost effective way to reduce your administration costs. Chamber member since 2004, PA Services Direct Limited (PASD) offers a range of remote outsource services such as secretarial and accounts to firms who have turned to them for a solution to help reduce their secretarial and administration expenditure and thereby reduce the impact of current market demands on their practices. When you consider the additional costs associated with an employee and the amount of times during the day when they are not productive, by using PASD where you only pay for the actual work done, you can see how cost savings can easily be made. PASD offer an outsourced secretarial/admin service whereby they only charge for the actual time taken to complete a task, as and when you require, with none of the additional costs normally associated with an employee. By using PASD you are able to match the peaks
and troughs of your workload and so adopt an efficient cost effective business model. Why pay for a secretary to be idle whilst fee earners are out of the office, or struggle when workload increases. Think of PASD as an extension of your existing office team, but without all the associated costs. Testimonials from their clients support their claim that by using an outsource company like PASD you can achieve efficiencies whilst maintaining quality. PASD offer a free trial of their services and can be found at www.pa-services-direct.com, 0161 928 1433 and info@pa-services-direct. com PASD – cost effective, flexible, professional – a solution to reduce your admin costs.
