“Ag Days Gives Backs”

2026 Recipient

Manitoba Ag Days enters its second decade of investing in rural communities and agriculture education through the Ag Days Gives Back program.

This year they introduced a new way to give back, with a cost sharing program to get AEDs into fifteen more community spaces.

The Richer Community Club was one of the organizations who applied for the grant and were excited to receive the subsidized AED. The intention is to set it up in an accessible area in the Dawson Trail Park, the community greenspace. The park sees in excess of 50,000 visitors per year, including over 12,000 at the annual Richer Rodeo.

Richer Rec Hockey continued...

Since early December, players in three age groups have enjoyed one-hour ice times that combine skill development with scrimmages. Each session focuses on skating, puck control, passing, and shooting, followed

by game-style play that keeps things fun and competitive.

There have been a couple of bitterly cold Manitoba mornings, but spirits remain high and families continue to fill the ringside at the Premier Tech Multiplex. The focus is on teamwork, confidence, and enjoying the game while building strong fundamentals.

With March now here, the league is hoping for a few more ice times to close out a successful inaugural season. In its first year, the Richer Bears have already created something special — a program built on skill development, team spirit, and a shared love of hockey.

Congratulations to Brett Stasiuk who picked the Ace of Spades and won the Jackpot of $1,000! That’s how easy it is… new deck, first card drawn!

The Richer Community Club Chase the Ace game will continue each Saturday at the Richer Inn with a starting take home Jackpot of $1,000.
