Richer’s Annual Christmas in the Park Coming Soon The Richer Recreation Committee in partnership with many local sponsors are putting the final touches on this year’s Community Christmas in the Park. The event will be held on Friday, December 22 starting at around 5 pm at the Dawson Trail Park. Wagon rides, a giant bonfire, free hotdogs and hot drinks along with a visit from Santa. There will be small gifts kids as supplies last. In addition, there will also be Christmas music. Bring your ice skates as the ice making crew will be giving it there all once the weather permits to surface the Premier Tech Multiplex, the skating trails and the rodeo arena. This event is sponsored by the Richer Esso, Burnell’s Food plus, the Richer Inn, the Richer Husky, Paradise Lndscaping, AJ Fiola Insurance, Brio Insurance, One Insurance, Foot by Foot Construction, Pattyn Plumbing, Richer Fellowship Church, Rolly’s Septic, the Richer Métis Local, Raymond Vauclair Projects, famille Eugene et Louise Sabot, famille Mark et Gisele Lanouette and the Dawson Trail Dispatch. With this great group coming together with all out volunteers, the Richer Recreation Committee is able to create this annual event for our community and neighbours.

Rec Committee Presenting Series of Events The Richer Rec Committee (RRC) has been working on developing a series of events and workshops thanks to a grant from the RM of Ste. Anne. The first event was a Hunter’s Safety course which filled up within 18 hours of posting it. The second was a family paint day, and again the registration was to capacity. Unfortunately, due to the instructor not being able to attend the event, Baby Sitting Course was cancelled. The RRC plans to re-schedule this event prioritizing those who had registered initially. tively scheduled include Cookie Decorating, First Aid, Finger Weaving, PAL, and Build a Fairy Garden. They are also in negotiation to bring a blacksmith workshop to the park for those who would like to learn the art form.

Dawson Trail Museum Celebrating Our Past.
In 2021 a building structural study was made by Crosier Kilgour & Partners Ltd from Winnipeg. After a visit from a structural engineer in 2022, his drawings recommended the following upgrades. The 11 stone piers to be reinforced with concrete forms all around up to the floor beam, closure of a door passage for added support, five more steel posts to be added, and all the window openings to be properly sealed. Right on Renovations and Constructions completed the project on November 25, 2023. The cost of the project was $53,068.85 which included the study, engineer drawing, permits and the contractor. We thank Building Sustainable Communities Programs for matching us $ for $, also individual donations and everyone who help support us at our fund raisers during the year. Without you, this project would not be possible. Thank you to all the volunteers who gave of their time to make it a success. Train Up A Child By Pastor Ben Funk
I do not know about you, but I have often marveled at young Mary’s faith and loyalty to God. Mary lived at the end of the 400 years of silence from Yahweh God to Israel. I want to reminisce a little in this article. To begin, Christmas is a family celebration of both faith and fun. More than our family celebration, it is remembering the experience of the original family of Mary and Joseph. The Christmas event is a good opportunity to reflect on how they lived a Yahweh centered life as a family in mutual love and
trust in Him. This is a possibility in every family that lives a Yahweh centered life mutually. Let’s think about Jesus’ grandparents. Scripture does not tell us anything about the parents of Mary or Joseph. By looking at Mary, their child, we can figure out that they must have set the example that Mary followed to become the loving, gentle, faithfilled, courageous woman she was. We should believe that the guidance she had in her early life helped her to make courageous decisions in times of real confusion. Her depth of faith, and spiritual solitude could not have happened in a vacuum. The young learn more from ex-
ample than from academic principle. A family should provide their child with an atmosphere of faith, relationship, friendship, love, care, concern and other virtues which make a person a good human being in our World. By the life Mary led, her parents must have been just that type of role model. This is the family’s mission, to create the favourable conditions for the harmonious and full growth of their children in faith and godliness that is worthy of Yahweh God. Children should see the virtues of their parents while they are growing. If they do not learn it as a child, by example, it is hard for them to develop those godly virtues in their future. We live in a pressure-packed world where there are millions of opportunities, which comes with respective challenges. The secular society focuses more on individual success and accomplishments. While the parents are busy striving to grab all of these opportunities, those who suffer are the children. We appear to be reluctant to take time to invest in the children. We are too busy providing “things” for our children. Meeting their needs is one thing, the thing they need is Jesus Yeshua. Jesus’ grandparents seemed to have had a clear understanding of that reality. We still today benefit from their loyalty. Our children need someone
to trust and rely on in their life. Someone to show them the right way. When you cram their time with events and games, remember you are losing the valuable family time, which you are never going to earn back. Take the time to teach them Faith, morals and values, which they are never going to learn from this “Free Society.” Be brave and courageous, give life. Let me wish each one a very “Merry Christmas” as we celebrate Jesus coming among us and become akin with us in our world.
New Rink Board Installation Complete!
The Richer Community Club is welcoming the community to take in the new rink boards inside the Premier Tech Multiplex. The rink board project was the second stage of the Rink Revitalization Project. This winter, or spring, the Richer Community Club will add some players’ benches on the north side of the rink. This project was funded in by the Province of Manitoba, TC Energy, One Insurance, Richer Rodeo Committee, Famille Alain et Danelle Lanouette and the dedicated Chase the Ace Committee.
Richer Métis Local Kick Off Christmas Spirit
The Richer Métis Local hosted a Breakfast with Santa on December 3 filling the Richer Young at Hearts Hall with the tantalizing smells of a pancake breakfast, live entertainment, treats and activities for children and a visit from Santa.
