U17 AAA Eastman Selects Capture Gold at Winnipeg Jets Elite Classic The U17 AAA Eastman Selects delivered a championship performance at the 2025 Winnipeg Jets U17 AAA Elite Classic, capturing gold after an exciting four-day tournament held November 27 to 30 at the Hockey for All Centre. The Selects opened the tournament with a narrow 4–3 loss to the Sask East Oilers on Thursday, surrendering the winning goal with just 30 seconds remaining. Undeterred, Eastman responded in dominant fashion on Friday, shutting out the Winnipeg Wild 6–0. match with the Sask East cruising to a decisive 9–0 Oilers. Eastman left no victory to advance to the doubt in the semi-final, gold medal game.

Looking Back at the Reality of 2025

In the championship final, the Selects faced the undefeated Bishops College Prep School from Quebec in a tightly contested matchup. After regulation time failed to determine a winner, the game went to a thrilling 10-minute, three-onthree overtime. Oakbank’s Carson Flock sealed the championship in dramatic fashion, ripping a laser past the Bishops Prep goaltender to secure the gold medal for the Eastman Selects. With the tournament victory, the U17 AAA Eastman Selects continue to build on an outstanding season and currently sit in first place in the Winnipeg AAA League standings.
