Tami Pickens, President of ISU Insurance Services ARMAC Agency, is no stranger to the High Desert.

Born and raised in Apple Valley, CA Tami has a legacy of supporting the HD community At the age of 12, with a work permit in hand, Tami held her first job at Via Verde Arabians working 30 hours per week. With a love for animals Tami was certain she would become a horse trainer. After attending Apple Valley Christian School and graduating from Apple Valley High School in 1992, Tami pursued culinary school Tami graduated from Scottsdale Culinary Institute (a Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts) at the age of 18 and worked at one of the top restaurants in Phoenix, AZ.

Tami began her career at ARMAC Insurance in 1995 answering phones and filing client records After receiving her license, Tami worked in personal lines insurance and transitioned to commercial lines when her brother, Ryan McEachron, decided to run for City Council.

ISU ARMAC Insurance has a deep history in the community and has been insuring the High Desert for 60 years!

Hesperia Lake Park is the perfect day trip for any day of theweek.

Camping at Hesperia Lake Park is available throughout the year with 50 campsites (complete with a picnic table and fire ring) to accommodate RV and tent campers. Hesperia Lake is a pay to fish lake so a state fishing license is not required. Trout is scheduled to be stocked during the first week of November. The Victor Valley Museum, founded in 1976, moved from Victorville to the current location on Apple Valley Rd in Apple Valley, CA in 1992

Spend an extraordinary day at the Victor Valley Museum where the fascinating history, culture, and natural history of the region comes alive! The county is the largest by geography nationwide, and encompasses lively urban areas, gorgeous panoramic mountain ranges, and world class deserts with countless stories of the indigenous and migrant populations that have lived and traveled to this place over 1000s of years. Visitors are encouraged to imagine, share, create, discover, and explore fascinating permanent and changing exhibits to connect with the natural and cultural history of our region.

The museum's core exhibits and public programs focus on areas of history, art, biodiversity, and earth sciences. Semi permanent exhibits feature our remarkable mineral and mining collection, historical artifacts about the United States Armed Forces in the High Desert, and the amazing animals and fossils of the Mojave Desert
