✶✶✶✶✶ I really recommend Deep in Aesthetics.

They made me feel really relaxed and they were very thorough in explaining the procedure and aftercare. They answered all of my questions and I won’t hesitate to go back to them in the future." DarcyB-7

Welcome to your November Issue

A warm welcome to our penultimate issue of the year … and what a year it has been! Back in January, there was a one-liner doing the rounds: “How do I know what this year’s going to bring? I haven’t got 20/20 vision!” Little did anyone realise … ! We’ll have all learned many things this year: just how an hour of exercise during lockdown can be so beneficial; how a group of sewing-machines and their wonderful operatives can produce so much fabulous PPE in record time; and how everyone now realises the immense value of our NHS, hoping that all of those “Thursday evening clapathons” will not be forgotten, once the pay rounds begin! The list could go on, with all of our educators and “key workers” deserving immense praise too. This month, we see many references on our pages to Christmas, barely ten weeks away, and so there is hopefully some bright light for us all, as we peer through this (admittedly very gloomy) tunnel! I hope you are all keeping safe and sane, and that our magazine can help you through these troubling times. Claire x

So, they warned us about a second spike in the virus and, at the time of writing, all the statistics are indeed going the wrong way. It’s sad to see so much being disrupted, including this month’s traditional Remembrance Day services and “poppy collections”. The customary, accelerating pre-Christmas fervour and countdown to the big day has hardly surfaced yet, with concerns over whether restrictions on gatherings will actually rule out that big Christmas dinner, with all the family around the table, whilst returning students may have to be quarantined in their rooms! Yet, there is still optimism out there, as our wonderful contributors and advertisers continue their battles for survival in these trying times. A number of new businesses are appearing each month in our towns, and surely, the downturn will soon be here! And finally, a little something to keep the spirits up, (and before you see them in your Christmas crackers!) • This Covid business is nothing new. The Russian physician, Ivor Chestikov was treating the composer DryCoughsky years ago. • If Covid-19 has forced you or a loved one to wear a mask with your spectacles, call our help-line - you may be entitled to condensation! Enjoy the read. John
