Reminders for Visiting our Coastline

Please keep these recommendations in mind when visiting ecologically sensitive coastal locations in Nova Scotia: Leave no trace. Take only photos, and pack out what you pack in.

Dunes are delicate. Avoid walking and driving on sand dunes.

Steer clear of the birds. Shorebirds and seabirds use the coastline as nesting habitats and migration stopovers to rest.

Don’t forget about ticks! Ticks can transmit Lyme Disease, so check yourself during and after exploring.

The Nova Scotia Nature Trust (NSNT) allows responsible recreational access to the 100 Wild Islands. As the NSNT works to protect these lands forever, we would like to thank you for keeping them safe and pristine. To learn more, please visit nsnt.ca
