Furkids Animal Rescue & Shelters set out to create more than just a safe place for animals— they envisioned a welcoming space where the community could gather, interact with animals, and enjoy a peaceful environment away from the stresses of everyday life.

That vision began to take shape in 2017 when the organization discovered a neglected property that once housed Wakoola Gardens. Although the site required significant restoration, Furkids purchased the property in 2018 and began transforming it into a unique destination shelter.

After extensive renovations, the botanical-style headquarters opened to the public in 2019.

The campus has continued to grow since then.

An old barn on the property was carefully renovated and reimagined as Shiloh Gardens Special Events, a beautiful venue that now hosts weddings, parties, corporate meetings, and other community celebrations. Today, the Furkids campus serves as both a sanctuary for animals and a vibrant gathering place for the community.
