Welcome Sports Fans!

On behalf of Columbus High School, its athletic teams, coaches, band, cheerleaders, and dance squads, the Discoverer Sports Booster Club welcomes you to this athletic event. We hope you enjoy yourselves and enthusiastically support your athletes. The Discoverer Sports Booster Club has been in existence since 1992 and has donated over $925,000 to support the athletic programs at CHS. This money supports ALL of the CHS athletic teams with equipment purchases, spirit committee projects, and facility upgrades. Our weight room is one of the finest in the state and our extensively remodeled training room provides a facility to help our student athletes stay physically fit.

PLUS, the Booster Club and the School District are joining efforts impacting the CHS football and track area to provide improvements to the field. The Booster Club has committed $100,000 in funding over the next four years. These accomplishments are a result of the support of our numerous business and family members. Please support those business members listed in this program! If you get the chance, thank those businesses in person.

We encourage you to attend as many high school events as you can to support our students. We know participation in extracurricular activities builds on the academic foundation established at CHS and helps our students become solid citizens. We are proud of the high standard of academic excellence our student-athletes achieve.

Since being named the Director of Athletics and Activities five years ago at CHS, we have focused on serving our student athletes at the highest level. We have an amazing group of coaches and staff, and our incredible student-athletes are doing the work to be competitive in the classroom and in their competitions. In one way or another many of us attending today’s activity have a connection to Discoverer Nation. That passion is at the heart of what it means to be a Discoverer. As an athletics and activities department our objective is to be transparent and responsive. We know there is always room for improvement, and we are committed to providing the best experiences for our student-athletes. Over the years I have valued the great friendships that we have formed and the powerful sense of community that exists in our athletics and activities department. I knew I was coming back to a special place, but Columbus High School and the community of Columbus has far exceeded my expectations in so many ways. The quality of our people, the significance of our history, the passion for our traditions, and the collective commitment to excellence is evident in so many ways. As I begin year five, I am even more optimistic and confident about the future of Discoverer Athletics and Activities.

The Discoverer approach to athletics and activities is to offer a balance that channels our student-athletes to success for years past high school. Though we work hard to be triumphant, we are also coaching our young men and women for their years outside of high school activities. These connections furnish our student-athletes with the life teachings of teamwork, fellowship, and determination that athletics and activities instruct so well. These conducts will support everyone throughout their life no matter their journey. At Columbus High, we ask our student-athletes to always “Discover Something Greater Than Yourself.”

I would like to take an opportunity to thank you for attending CHS activities. Your endorsement and encouragement of Columbus High Athletics & Activities are truly treasured. Because of the numerous sponsorships that we receive from fans like you, as well as the businesses and individuals listed in this program, we have been able to maintain outstanding Athletics and Activities Programs. Columbus Community Hospital’s comprehensive sports medicine team includes Columbus Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Clinic, Rehab Services at the Columbus Wellness Center, Premier Physical Therapy and Sports Medicine and athletic training services.
