Welcome Sports Fans!
On behalf of Columbus High School, its athletic teams, coaches, band, cheerleaders, and dance squads, the Discoverer Sports Booster Club welcomes you to this athletic event. We hope you enjoy yourselves and enthusiastically support your athletes. The Discoverer Sports Booster Club has existed since 1992 and has donated over $900,000 to support the athletic programs at CHS. This money supports ALL CHS athletic teams with equipment purchases, spirit committee projects, and facility upgrades.
Our weight room is one of the finest in the state and our remodeled training room provides a facility to help our student-athletes stay physically fit through continuous upgrades to equipment such as newly purchased state-of-the-art AEDs. These accomplishments are due to the support of our numerous business and family members. Please support those business members listed in this program! And if you get the chance, thank those businesses in person.
We encourage you to attend as many high school events as possible to support our students. We know participation in extracurricular activities builds on the academic foundation established at CHS and helps our students become solid citizens. We are proud of the high standard of academic excellence our student-athletes achieve.
If you are not a member of the Discoverer Sports Booster Club, you can join us by contacting Activities Director, Tim Kwapnioski at (402) 563-7050.

Welcome Fans!
Our student-athletes and our coaching staff make Columbus Athletics and Activities extraordinary. Outside of competition, our studentathletes are changemakers committed to their learning. They understand the importance of their education in creating change. Many of our student-athletes volunteer in the local community and participate in service opportunities. Likewise, our dedicated Columbus coaching staff is as committed to teaching, mentoring, and leading by example as they are to their incredible acumen as skilled coaches of their specific sport.
Many of you in attendance today have a connection to the rich history of the Discoverers. Your excitement is at the center of what it means to be a Discoverer. As an athletics and activities department, in partnership with the Columbus High Sports Booster Club, we have unified around the vision for what a successful, comprehensive, values-driven, and integrity-based athletics and activities program can mean, even one with an existing reputation as robust as what we have at Columbus High School. Our shared journey has been far from linear, but the progress we have made is undeniable. Words can hardly express how thankful I am for the role that each booster member plays and that each of you plays. There is always room for perfection, and we are dedicated to offering first-class experiences for our student-athletes. As a graduate, The Discoverer Family has permanently altered the course of my life. The friendships I have forged over the years, the experiences I have gained, and the memories made have molded me into the person I am today. As I begin year six as the Director of Athletics and Activities, I am even more enthusiastic and convinced about the future of Discoverer Athletics and Activities.
The Discoverer approach to athletics and activities has been to offer a balance that funnels our student-athletes to success for years past high school graduation. Though we strive to be victorious, we are also mentoring our young men and women for their years beyond high school activities. These influences equip our student-athletes with the life teachings of grit, camaraderie, and determination that athletics and activities teach so well. These qualities will encourage everyone throughout their life no matter their journey. At Columbus High, we ask our student-athletes to always “Discover Something Greater Than Yourself.”
I would like to announce the newest addition to the Columbus High School Athletics and Activities Department. Turner Trofholz has been hired as the new Assistant Athletics and Activities Director. As a graduate of Schuyler HS, he is very familiar with the storied traditions of Discoverer athletics and activities. Turner spent time at Grand Island NW and Logan View as a teacher and coach. Most recently he has been the Director of Athletics and Activities at Shelby-Rising City. We are excited to bring someone with his knowledge, background, and experience as a school administrator and love for high school activities into the department. Turner’s wife, Emma, is a teacher at Columbus Middle School.
I would like to take an opportunity to thank you for attending Columbus High Athletic and Activity events. Your patronage and inspiration of Columbus High Athletics & Activities are genuinely valued. Because of the numerous sponsorships that we receive from fans like you, as well as the businesses and individuals listed in this program, we have been able to maintain outstanding Athletics and Activities Programs. Please take time and review the various exceptional merchants and individuals who have made a direct contribution to the Columbus High School Sports Boosters for the 2024-2025 school year. We want to thank each of them for their financial partnership.
I am pleased to introduce our coaches for the 2025 Spring Season. I know this crew is excited for a great spring season. Scott Bethune (Boys and Girls Track & Field), Anner Robertson (Boys Golf), John Reidmiller (Baseball), Zach Wayman (Girls Soccer), John Arlt (Boys Soccer), and Kim Liebhart (Girls Tennis).
On behalf of the Columbus High Athletics and Activities Department, the Columbus High Sports Booster Club, the entire activities staff, all our student-athletes and their families, as well as our loyal CHS alum, thank you for your continued investment and attendance at all CHS activities.
Come

Thank You!
This award honors families or individuals for their incredible dedication they have shown to the CHS Booster Club and CHS Athletics over many years. It is impossible to list all the contributions that Pinnacle Bank has made and this is just a small token of our appreciation.
With the continued support from our Championship sponsors and many others like them, the CHS Booster Club will continue to provide financial support to our athletic programs, enhancing the experience for our young student athletes.
The CHS Booster Club announced this year’s winner of the Championship Award at our annual golf tournament in August.
