Oppidan Breaks Ground off Hardwood Avenue Construction is underway at Oppidan’s new 171-unit market rate multifamily apartment building off of Hardwood Avenue. With easy access to the 80th street commercial corridor, also known as Gateway North, these apartments will not only provide more diverse housing in the community, but will be within walking distance to restaurants, retail opportunities and the Park Grove Library, just to name a few. City and state and officials joined the Oppidan and Trilogy teams on July 14 to
break ground on the project. “We appreciate [working with] Oppidan because this is a very unique property.” “They worked with us on access points, the topography, saving as many trees [as possible], having neighborhood meetings, and sharing information with the public” said Mayor Myron Bailey at the groundbreaking.
Night to Unite a Success
Night to Unite encourages residents to get out into their neighborhood on the evening of the first Tuesday in August, and get to know each other better. Some neighbors have driveway cookouts, others close down the street for a block party, while some simply pull up a chair outside. There’s no right way to celebrate. The importance of the night is to promote police-community partnerships and build relationships with one another. Cottage Grove Public Safety teams visited 59 Night to Unite parties and three ‘Noon Out’ parties at senior living communities this year.
