The new setting also presented him with his future partner in life, German born and raised Margareta Reeve. The two immediately connected despite the fact that she was German, something Dirk Marwig never thought possible.

He slowly began to put a new body of work together consisting of smaller format, paintings, drawings and objects. Recapturing what he thought long lost; Dirk Marwig’s new work was a return to humility, along an untainted, newfound abstract avenue in which the personal self-healing phase he just lived through was described. In 2008 with the title “Neue Arbeiten 2007-2008” (“New works 2007-2008”) Dirk Marwig was to have his last show at the Nikolaus Fischer Gallery, which officially closed its doors to the public that same year. Here is the invitation and a few pieces exhibited in that show: From top Left to bottom Right: Invitation “Neue Arbeiten 2007-2008”, “Transparent Mechanism”, “Loose”, “Safety Zone”, “Back to Square One”, “Nine”, “Wild-son” object, “Inside”, “ Impakt”, “Twirly” object, “NONRONG Diplomat” object , “A Tragic Story” and “One Way Only”
