Parents encouraged to register nursery children for September term
Parents of babies, toddlers and pre-school children are being encouraged to register their children for a place at nursery following the re-opening of settings in the UK.

Childcare providers say the benefits young children will gain from being in a social setting are huge and with additional safety measures in place parents should feel confident about enrolling their children.
Tony Driffield, who owns the Mama Bear’s Day Nursery and Pre-school group, along with wife Bev, an expert in early education, says children who have been kept in lockdown since March will thrive in a more dynamic environment.
“I’ve really felt for the children and families who have been at home since March. It is important for children to experience new surroundings, have interaction with their peers and enjoy activities that parents can’t always provide at home,” said Tony.
“With schools returning to the ‘new normal’ in September there is no reason nursery children shouldn’t also reap the rewards of early education.
“It is particularly important for children due to start primary school next year. Experiencing a year in pre-school where we begin their educational journey and encourage them to build relationships with others, will help children in many ways become confident and ready for that vital next step. “We believe the benefits of nursery are incredibly valuable to a child’s development - socially, emotionally, educationally and physically. Children who have been kept in isolation for months need the support we can give them to start getting back to normality.”
Mama Bear’s is a family-run nursery group with 24 settings across Bristol, Somerset and Devon. Providing a home-from-home environment for children, the settings cater for ages 3 months to five years.
All 24 Mama Bear’s sites are accepting registrations for children over the summer and for the September term.
Tony continued: “Since we reopened our doors to all children in June the demand has slowly but surely increased as parents feel more confident and are happy with the safety measures we have put in place. There’s also the practical element in that many parents are returning to work so childcare for some is essential.
“Places are quickly filling for our September term, which is a fantastic sign of parents’ confidences growing. Those who haven’t secured a place for their child yet should give us a call and our nursery managers can talk through everything including our new Covid policies.”
