Riser Floors
Probably our biggest seller, Step on Safety’s RiserDeck® is a complete riser flooring solution for easy installation within mechanical and electrical service riser vents and smoke risers. It provides a modern, highspec alternative to traditional galvanised steel and ply board service riser duct flooring and is easier to install and adjust as additional services are fitted. The complete system comprises of our Universal™ Angle, I-Beam, C-Section GRP profiles and QuartzGrip® GRP open mesh grating, cut precisely to fit the size and shape of the riser vent . It can be installed during construction or retro-fitted to older buildings to bring them up to code . More and more, architects, developers, site managers and contractors are specifying GRP for their riser floors . • It’s lightweight so can be manoeuvred into place by hand – no heavy lifting gear is required • It’s non-sparking, so if it needs to be cut onsite, hot works licenses are not required and there’s no
fire hazard • It’s non-corrosive and lowmaintenance with a life expectancy of decades • The flooring is anti-slip, reducing the risk of slips and falls • It can be cut to any shape and installed to suit your timetable – whether that’s as the building goes up, at the end of construction or in an older, completed building • We can install it for you or provide pre-cut sections for your own teams to fit

Cast-In System Our latest and most efficient system, Cast-In Riser Floors are installed BEFORE the floors are poured which means there is never a fall risk working at height . Risers Floors are built to your specification in our workshop and supplied to your site ready to fit . Simpy fix them into position, pour the floor and the job is done . Not only does this eliminate a hazard but there’s no need for barriers or towers, reducing cost . They can also be installed by your own site teams at a time that suits you - no need to schedule around another supplier (us) - reducing the number of people onsite . Post-Fix System Once the floor is poured we come in and install the Riser Floors . This is the traditional method but does mean that, for a period of time, the riser voids are open presenting a considerable hazard . Barriers are needed to prevent falls and a tower needs to be be built below the riser void to give installers safe access . However, working closely with developers, we can install the risers as the building goes up, keeping the risk to a minimum . Retro-Fit System Buildings built before the 1980s are likely to still have riser voids, presenting a considerable hazard to HVAC engineers . GRP is lightweight and easy to cut on site, which makes it easy to work with, even when access is difficult and services are already in place . We spend a lot of time working in older buildings during fit-outs and refurbishments, ensuring the riser voids meet all Health & Safety requirements going forward .
