Complexo da Maré, Rio De Janeiro - Brazil.
The main idea now is reshaping the future for Mare’s expansion and to make the best use of the expected futuristic densifying. Then came the idea of providing dwellers with an expansion plan for the coming decade or further. The higher density will be achieved by introducing alternative housing typologies into the urban fabric, breaking class bound aries and diversifying demographics.
The expansion plan is divided to two phases, ‘intensifying Mare’ and it requires mainly filling the gaps, creating housing pockets in empty lots and would act as the direction where dwellers could seek when increasing in number and “industrial embeded’ which requires looking for old abandoned warehouses and using them as a shelter or exoskel etons for occupation.

Complexo da Mare’ is persistent. Throughout the past decades. Mare’ has been home for almost 130 thousand residents with a significant increase starting the year 20002010. Yet, it has been surviving and providing humble homes for its dwellers. Expansion is expected, the need for homes and essential needs would always be a priority since smaller favelas find their way within the walls of bigger ones.

02 Arctic Gateway
Rovaniemi - Finland. Takes the visitor to the parallel world of Santa Clause where the laws of climate meet their new limits. Our approach was to define the characteristics of the Ounasvaara Mountain and to make the project the bridge of architecture between the visitors and the standalone character of the site which on its own is a place no one should miss seeing. The project is a landscape hotel which integrates nature and exhibits magnificence of the sky .It begins from an analysis to the site and its accessibility and then our vision was defined by layers of new routes, zoning and built environments and raised upon a northern oriented dry river. Spread out in the site are the resting spots that target hikers and are placed according to the overlay of the star the stargazing quiet room along with spots that are for people to interact with animals. In the entry belongs the Astronomical sculpture that celebrates the sky of Rovaniemi in front of the Visitors center that has a reception and then a flexible visitors space with a restaurant. Behind it is the Stargazing quiet room, and around the site are the Cabins for the visitors laid according to the topography with a Clubhouse serving its occupants. The floor plans are constructed in the form of pocket with sky oriented openings.

Introducing E-cars through showrooms, museums and providing maintenance area and research labs to always renovate the technology and discover new and better ways to achieve Designingsustainability.thebuilding to fit the required goals and to maintain a safe structure was the biggest challenge, through creating interior spaces that reflects on the facade to show the variations of functions of the building from outside. Integrating design and structure is the main challenge for this building.

1) 9th Street because it is the most active spine that goes through el Mokattam.
Secondly, the existing infrastructure main roads which surround el Mokattam such as: The Ring Road, East Entrance and West Entrance, The main entrance which comes from Alsayeda Eisha bus stop. We had enhanced the quality of those Roads using soft & hardscape areas and taking advantage from the existing public destinations starting from Giza Zoo, as El-Azhar Park and the Citadel. Those treatments are to qualify Al Mokattam with a clear Mobility ThisNetwork.Network
3) Deviated Street which connects the core of Al mokattam with the Cornich. As our Idea was to make Mokattam a destination For those Spines we tackled the intersection points and enhance them with bus stops and some masses like a Museum a Transportation hub, Library and a market. Those Masses are not only giving strength to the network but also gives Al Mokattam a chance to be a Destination.
consists of 3 main spines: 9th street ,Cornich ,Deviated Street.

2) Cornich Al Mokattam as it is a unique spatial feature that have a great view over Cairo.
At first, we observed the most dense nodes, such as Sakr Koriesh, Abd Elmoniem Reyad, Sayeda Eisha, El Ghaz stop.

District is isolated from the surrounding urban fabric of the city due to its topographical situation, so our main strategy is to integrate Mokattam with the rest of the city: using the surrounding mobility nodes & existing Infrastructure.

Urban Transformative Syntax

Studying the current situation and evolution of Isthmia can help revive its importance and facilitate a connection between the eastern and the western world. Constructing the Corinth Canal turned from being a big economical step into a failure. Studying the Corinth Canal’s effect on the city can help developing its goals in order to offer a better future for the city. A comparative analysis between the old and new city’s urban fabric, understanding the evolution of the city before and after the Canal was dug, studying how the city’s citizens are using the waterfront areas and its benefits to the city, and compar ing the city’s population in the ancient times and nowadays.
The study aims to reviving the Corinth Canal and highlight its importance back to the world. This research would also add a piece to the puzzle to the Mediterranean studies.
The city of Isthmia is located on the Isthmus of Corinth in Greece. The isthmus is a nar row strip of land connecting two large islands, Peloponnese and Athens which gave the city a strategic location and importance.
