We continue our series of publications designed to help you improve your Ukrainian language skills. Each time, we strive to make every piece not only useful but also engaging for those who want to enhance their communication. Making mistakes is normal; the most important thing is to aim to correct them and move forward. Together, we break down language barriers while enriching and diversifying our speech.
In this issue, we’ll look at common speech mistakes that occur during everyday business communication, along with some fun additions to expand your vocabulary.
1. Use Ukrainian in your work environment. Make it a habit to discuss work matters in your native language.
2. Read in Ukrainian more often. This could include fiction, articles, news – anything you enjoy. For instance, this magazine or publications on www.erc.ua.
3. Write down new words. Keep a small vocabulary notebook and regularly update it – over time, these words will become part of your active vocabulary.
4. Watch your favourite films in Ukrainian.
It’s not only useful, but also entertaining.
5. Add some humour. Learn colourful Ukrainian expressions and idioms that will amuse your conversation partners.

Here are some common speech mistakes that occur during business communication in Ukrainian.
1. «Бізнес-план» or «план бізнесу» The recommendation to replace «бізнес-план» with «план бізнесу» is based on the fact that «бізнес» is a noun, not part of a compound adjective. However, the phrase «бізнес-план» is an established term in the Ukrainian language, widely used in business vocabulary. Therefore, both versions can be considered acceptable (depending on the context).
2. «Реалізувати проєкт», «здійснити проєкт» or «виконати проєкт». The word «реалізувати» is more appropriate when referring to ideas or plans, while for projects, verbs like «здійснити» or «виконати» are more suitable. This helps avoid misunderstandings in speech.
3. «На даний момент», «на цей момент» or «наразі». The word «даний» literally means "that which is given," so in the sense of "current," it is better to use «цей» or «наразі». This contributes to clarity and linguistic accuracy.
4. «Лідер на ринку», «лідер у галузі» or «перший у галузі». The phrases «лідер у галузі» or «перший у галузі» are more precise, as they clearly define the field of activity and emphasize the leading position of the subject.
5. «Зробити ставку на нову ідею» , «зосередитися на новій ідеї» or «зробити акцент». The phrase «зробити ставку» is a calque from Russian. When speaking Ukrainian, it's more appropriate to use constructions like «зосередитися на новій ідеї» or «зробити акцент» , which sound more natural and conform to linguistic norms.
6. «Через місяць» (meaning "in a month") or «за місяць» . In Ukrainian, the preposition «через» is used to indicate april 2025 / ERC Content /
overcoming space or obstacles, whereas to express the time remaining until an event, «за» should be used. Therefore, «за місяць» is correct.
7. «Більше, чим» or «більше, ніж». In comparative constructions in Ukrainian, the conjunction «ніж» is used rather than «чим» . So the correct form is «більше, ніж»
8. «Дівчата з хлопцями» or «дівчата і хлопці» . The conjunction «з» indicates joint action or possession, while «і» simply connects homogeneous parts of a sentence. So for listing people, «дівчата і хлопці» is the more appropriate option.
9. «Це є» or «це». In modern Ukrainian, the verb «є» in the present tense is generally not used unless special emphasis is needed. Therefore, the more correct and natural option is simply «це»
10. «Самий кращий» or «найкращий». The construction «самий кращий» is a direct translation from Russian. In Ukrainian, the superlative degree of adjectives is formed using the prefix «най» , so the correct form
is «найкращий» . If you follow these recommendations, you will be able to improve your speech culture and avoid common mistakes.
Here are some words that will add colour to your speech.
• Куштувати – to savour, to try a dish.
• Поготів – even more, all the more so.
• Чепурний – neat, tidy.
• Тямити – to be well-versed in something.
• Бриніти – to ring or resound clearly.
• Лаштувати – to prepare or arrange.
• Каламбур – a play on words, pun that conveys humour.
• Крамниця – a shop, but with a cozy, homely atmosphere.
• Розмаїття – a wide variety or diversity.
• Відлуння – an echo, a sound that repeats or reflects.
• Розсвіт – dawn, the time when the sun rises.
• Манівці – roundabout ways, an indirect path to a goal.
Let’s practise together, as expressive and articulate speech is the key to mutual understanding and success.

Let’s take a closer look at why Windows 11 Pro is the logical next step, and how it can positively impact your workflow.
What Does the End of Support for Windows 10 Mean?
If your employees already have newer computers running Windows 11 Pro, everything is going smoothly! If you have computers with Windows 10 Pro (version 2004 or later) that are compatible with Windows 11, you can upgrade for free via the update menu or by manually downloading Windows 11. But if neither of these options works, there are still a few other paths worth considering.
This is quite a common question among users. The Windows 10 EOL date has long been set and has passed without much fanfare. Many people use the terms EOL and EOS interchangeably, but the
Windows 10 EOS date means something quite different, which is why it’s being mentioned more and more often.
Here’s the answer most people are waiting for.
After 14 October 2025, Windows 10 will not suddenly disappear from PCs. You can continue to use it. However,
it will no longer receive any free security updates. In other words, the longer you continue using Windows 10 past its EOS date without a plan to address security issues, the more you’re putting your systems, data, and overall device functionality at risk.

End of Life (EOL) marks the point when a product is no longer being manufactured, sold, or updated by the vendor, although limited support may still be available for a certain period. End of Support (EOS) indicates the end of all product support, including technical assistance and updates (at least not for free). Understanding these milestones helps you plan timely upgrades and avoid potential risks from using outdated or unsupported technologies.
Autumn 2025 might seem far off, but major IT transitions often require time to plan and implement. And depending on how well your business keeps up with technological progress, delaying the transition could end up being quite costly.
There are several clear reasons why delaying the transition is not a good idea:
• You may discover a lot of hardware that needs replacing.
• Some devices may pose greater risks than others and require prioritisation.
• Costs can be spread out over time.
• Unexpected issues during the process, such as software being used that also needs upgrading.
• Using unsupported software may lead to non-compliance in highly regulated industries.
• Starting to plan now gives you more time to consider available alternatives.
Windows 10
Microsoft has repeatedly communicated the approach of these dates. However, most organisations have been focused on other technological upgrades.
The tricky part is that older
computers won’t be able to run Windows 11.
To quickly assess compatibility, use Microsoft’s simple PC Health Check
App . You need to consider four options for computers that can’t run Windows 11 Pro.
Microsoft isn’t forcing anyone to buy new computers. And if it were 2010, the advice might be different. But it’s 2025, cybercrime is spiralling out of control, and unpatched software is responsible for 60% of data breaches.
So yes, you can continue using Windows 10 after 14 October, but it’s a very risky move. And
the longer you do it, the higher the risk.
Microsoft has made paid security update extensions available for Windows 10 for an additional three years. This interim solution can buy you a little more time.
There are other operating systems, and many of them are free. But switching to a different system isn’t that simple, even if you have IT professionals who can handle the task. From market experience and with regard to corporate standards and established business processes, migrating to a new corporate OS costs a company significantly more than upgrading to a new version of Windows. This option is unlikely to be the best choice for most organisations or users.

should be a bit easier, as it’ll be clearer which devices need replacing. If not, keep reading!
In an ideal world, every business could choose option No. 4 – simply replace outdated equipment by autumn 2025. But if the budget is limited or it’s difficult to identify what exactly needs replacing, consider the following steps:
1. Assess your current infrastructure.
2. Analyse the compatibility of any devices or components purchased before October 2021.
3. If the budget allows, plan to replace incompatible devices or components, including outdated Windows 10 ones, by October 2025.
4. If some incompatible hardware cannot be replaced by October 2025, identify critical systems and prioritise their replacement.
5. Determine the risks associated with each
device or component that cannot be replaced in time and try to minimise their potential impact on the business.
This phased approach to replacement may also offer several pleasant benefits, such as giving employees more time and attention for end-user training where needed, making the transition less disruptive as a result.

Dell Cyber Recovery as a cornerstone of cybersecurity.
CYBERSECURITY is a comprehensive strategy that encompasses not only standards and guiding principles, but also a set of recommended business processes and technological solutions. A notable example is the NIST Cybersecurity Framework from the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology, designed to help organisations assess and improve their capabilities to prevent, detect, and respond to cybersecurity risks.
Overview of the Cybersecurity Strategy
Even before formalising a Cybersecurity strategy, back in 2015, Dell Technologies
developed an Isolation Recovery solution for a customer affected by a ransomware attack. This solution was designed to minimise future losses from similar incidents. It laid the foundation for the development and enhancement of the modern Dell Cyber Recovery Solutions portfolio.
Sheltered Harbor
Dell is a recognised market leader in data protection across hardware and software. Moreover, Dell Technologies is the first technology partner of
the U.S. initiative Sheltered Harbor – an industry effort aimed at protecting critical consumer financial data and preserving trust in U.S. financial markets – and offers a certified turnkey solution. By creating a dedicated, physically isolated environment separate from corporate networks and backup systems, the critical data sets that Sheltered Harbor participants must protect are stored in a standardised format, enabling rapid recovery of essential banking or financial services. Deployment is measured in weeks rather than months, fully aligning with Sheltered Harbor’s specifications.
Data Vault – nightly backups of critical data in the standard Sheltered Harbor format, created by the participating institution or a service provider. The data vault is encrypted, immutable, and isolated from the institution’s infrastructure, including backup, disaster recovery, and other data protection systems.
Isolation and Management – an isolated, secure environment that is disconnected from corporate networks and restricts users except for those with appropriate authorisation. Automated data copying and isolation management ensure the integrity, availability, security, and confidentiality of the data.
Recovery and Remediation – if the «Sheltered Harbor Resiliency Plan» is activated, the participating institution can rapidly recover data from the
vault to enable the fastest possible restoration of banking or financial services.
Production environment –the production aspect of the solution assumes that the data to be protected within Cyber Recovery is available in a format supported by the DD series and CyberSense. The data must be stored on a DD series MTree within the production environment.
Vault environment –
Cyber Recovery includes the PowerProtect DD series platform and a Cyber Recovery management host, on which the software itself runs. Data from the production environment is transferred to the Cyber Recovery vault environment via MTree replication of the PPDD platform. This environment may also include various
physical or virtual hosts for recovery and analytics/ indexing, integrated with the solution.
Specifically, Cyber Recovery is integrated with the Integrated Data Protection backup solution to store critical business data in a secure vault environment for data recovery.
The server infrastructure is deployed within the vault environment; it is not shared with or connected to the production environment. Keeping the vault server hardware separate from the production environment ensures that any ongoing issues (cyberattacks, operational failures, etc.) do not reach the vault environment.
Additional protection measures include an automated operational air gap, which ensures network isolation and removes management interfaces.
The Cyber Recovery solution consists of the following components.
PowerProtect DD series platform – contains the production data protected by the Cyber Recovery solution.
Vault DD platform – the DD series system in the Cyber Recovery vault serves as the replication target for the source DD series platform.
Cyber Recovery software –manages synchronisation and multiple copies of the data stored on the DD series in the Cyber Recovery vault, locks them, and organises recovery. The software also manages the additional data analytics process on the data stored in the DD series using the CyberSense feature.
Retention Lock software (Governance or Compliance) – the Data Domain Retention Lock technology ensures data immutability for a defined period. The Retention Lock function is enabled based on the Cyber Recovery policy configuration.
Cyber Recovery management host – the management host is where the Cyber Recovery software is installed. This server is deployed in the vault environment.
Recovery hosts – the backup application recovery server is a dedicated server used to restore the backup application (NetWorker, Avamar, PowerProtect Data Manager or other applications or a combination thereof) and the backup catalogue. Multiple servers can be deployed depending on the
recovery requirements of the solution. The recovery server is appropriately sized to support recovery of all backup applications protected by the Cyber Recovery solution. If Cyber Recovery protects a physical single-node Avamar system in the production environment, then such a system must also be present in the recovery vault.
Analytics/Indexing host (CyberSense) – Cyber Recovery is the first solution to offer full integration with CyberSense. CyberSense adds an intelligent protection layer to detect data corruption when an attack reaches the data centre. It is deployed in the Cyber Recovery vault environment. This innovative approach provides full content indexing, applying machine learning (ML) to analyse backups in the vault with over 100 content-based statistical models to detect indicators of compromise due
to ransomware. CyberSense detects corruption with up to 99.5 % accuracy, identifies threats and diagnoses attack vectors, all while protecting business-critical content within the secure vault environment.
The term «air gap» refers to physical isolation from an unsecured system or network. A logical air gap describes physical connection with logical network isolation. It adds an additional layer of protection by reducing the attack surface.
Cyber Recovery offers an air gap feature to keep the Cyber Recovery vault disconnected from the production network. The Vault DD platform in the Cyber Recovery vault remains disconnected (air-gapped) from the production network most of the time and is only connected when replication is initiated via Cyber Recovery.
• Data leaks protection. Robust encryption and data isolation prevent unauthorised access and data breaches.
• Regulatory compliance. Dell Cyber Recovery helps organisations comply with international data protection standards and regulations. This minimises legal risks and fosters trust from both clients and regulators.

Security in Oracle Cloud begins with granular access control for IT professionals to internal cloud resources, made possible by a fully featured and free Access and Identity Manager (AIM) system.
Oracle has long been a leader and innovator in identity and access management systems,
and now this functionality is freely available to all cloud users. This enables cloud administrators to control user access to infrastructure resources in real time, monitor their activities, and respond quickly with necessary changes.
Oracle Cloud is a global cloud
platform where the Zero Trust model is implemented across all its data centres (over 150 worldwide).
To support the Zero Trust model, Oracle has introduced the concept of Compartments This allows organisations to grant access to specific specialists for individual services based on clearly defined policies, instead of granting access to the entire cloud environment.
For example, database system administrators can be given access only to infrastructure components hosting the databases, while network administrators can be granted access solely to networking services. An unlimited number of Compartments can be created, supporting the core principle of granting no more access than is necessary to perform one’s duties.
To address potential gaps
in cloud technology and security expertise, Oracle has implemented best practices and standards developed in collaboration with the Center for Internet Security (CIS Benchmarks). Additionally, Oracle has automated the creation and deployment of the initial infrastructure landscape, known as the Landing Zone. This approach not only reduces deployment time but also eliminates configuration errors and ensures that IT infrastructure is launched according to internationally recognised best practices.
Oracle Cloud is the first cloud platform to implement an off-box virtualisation approach, separating the virtualisation core from internal network management. This significantly reduces the risks associated with hypervisorlevel attacks.
In practice, everything that
manages Oracle Cloud’s network runs on a separate hypervisor layer, and network virtualisation operates directly on dedicated hardware. This enhances network performance and, crucially, provides network isolation, improving the overall security posture. Even in the event of a hypervisor breach, the attack is contained within a single virtual network and cannot spread to others. Oracle’s physical network architecture adds another layer of protection to virtualised networks by providing physical isolation for each customer, thus limiting the risk of lateral threat propagation. The physical components –racks, routers, and switches – make up the physical cloud layer. Access Control Lists (ACLs) are applied to Top-of-Rack (ToR) switches, forming a simple flat network connected to virtual ports within a Virtual Cloud Network (VCN). This structure reduces the
complexity of managing permitted data flow paths and improves visibility into attempts to bypass security controls.
Oracle’s ACLs are specifically designed to prevent IP spoofing by binding expected IP addresses of isolated virtualised network devices to the physical ports they are connected to. Moreover, the destination device verifies the return path of packets to prevent header encapsulation spoofing.
To further mitigate firmwarelevel threats, Oracle Cloud includes hardware-based protections, such as a Hardware-Based Root of Trust , which is used to wipe and reinstall server firmware. This process is automatically performed every time a server is provisioned for a new customer, regardless of the hardware type.
In Oracle Cloud, all data is encrypted by default, both at rest and in transit. Users can opt to use either
automatically generated Oracle encryption keys and certificates or manage their own corporate ones. For greater control, Oracle offers the Oracle Vault service, enabling centralised management of encryption keys and sensitive credentials used to securely access cloud resources.
Customers may also integrate Oracle Cloud with external Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) or lease an Oracle HSM, available in both virtualised and physical versions. Oracle does not have access to customer data and does not index it for internal use.
To enable secure access to private resources without needing to connect via restricted hosts, Oracle provides the free Bastion service. Additionally, for secure cloud-to-on-premises connectivity, users can leverage the free IPSec VPN service.
Oracle Cloud Firewall: Free Internal Network Protection
Oracle offers firewall-based protection of internal networks at no additional cost, allowing customers to configure firewall rules at the subnet and VNIC level. This includes protection through both internal and external Network Load Balancers. Oracle’s network firewall is a deeply integrated Palo Alto technology. For organisations with internal compliance requirements mandating Cisco, Check Point, or Fortinet solutions, those can be deployed as well, thanks to Oracle's flexible Bring Your Own License (BYOL) policy.
To strengthen protection against unknown threats at the perimeter, Oracle provides the unique Zero Trust Packet Routing technology, free of charge. This allows organisations to define security attributes for resources and create access policies using humanreadable terms (e.g., App-1 can access DB-1), which
restricts network traffic accordingly.
In 2020, Oracle introduced the Oracle Cloud Guard console to improve overall security monitoring in the cloud environment. By 2022, Oracle expanded its offering to include threat detection and threat intelligence, which aggregates data from various open sources to
provide recommendations for threat identification and to help prevent and mitigate potential impacts in the cloud environment.
The Oracle Threat Intelligence Service provides indicators of compromise, such as IP addresses associated with malicious activities. The Threat Detector, a new feature in Cloud Guard, continuously monitors cloud audit events for malicious activity. It can detect activity patterns
indicating potential attempts to access resources in the customer’s environment and misuse them. Additionally, the free Cloud Guard service includes a built-in vulnerability scanner, which helps identify open ports and systems that require patch updates. This scanner supports basic Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) or can be used to create a Custom Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP).

HPE MSA is positioned as entry-level or general
purpose storage, where the user gets the most out of the hardware for a relatively low cost. Of course, Hewlett Packard Enterprise also offers storage systems such as Business Critical and Mission Critical, but these are intended for different tasks and a completely different budget. MSA is a budgetfriendly storage option, but not at all budget in terms
of functionality. That is, many additional features are available for a reasonable price, which is why these storage systems are in such high demand on the market.
The release of the 7th generation MSA offers new standards of performance, flexibility and enhanced functionality.
HPE MSA is based on three pillars – simplicity, speed and affordability – which makes it especially relevant in the SMB segment, though it is also in demand among larger businesses. It is most often used for storing media content, CCTV, backups. Nowadays, it is often used for virtualisation, even working with SAP HANA, and so on.
However, this is still evolution rather than revolution. While it used to be possible to upgrade from older versions up to the 6th generation of MSA without issues, this became impossible with the release of Gen6 due to significant architectural changes. Now (starting from Gen6), longterm upgrades from generation to generation without data loss are once again possible. The

same chassis, the same drives, the same expansion shelves, and the same form factor for modernisation are retained. At the same time, there are many improvements, primarily in performance and speed. Overall, when comparing the
performance of MSA Gen6 and MSA Gen7, the new system is significantly faster and offers nearly twice the IOPS (from up to 370,000 to up to 783,000), while sustained bandwidth has increased from 13.1 GB/s to 14.1 GB/s. The
system’s scalability has also been expanded to 7.37 PB thanks to new modern drives and additional shelves. The controllers are now more powerful and use a dedicated offload ASIC for RAID. This provides the user with highperformance RAID 5, 6, and MSA DP Plus RAID with minimal performance impact in the event of disk failure and accelerated fault recovery.
Previous generations featured two hardware platforms –the 1000 and 2000 series (e.g., 2050, 2060 and 1050, 1060). In Gen7, it was decided to keep only one hardware platform, the 2070, and introduce several bundles. This means that three versions will now be available, designed to handle various tasks –from basic data storage, such as video surveillance, to workloads requiring high speed and performance.
2070 Storage. The bundle includes a controller shelf (SFF or LFF) with a pair of controllers, to which additional shelves can be added later for system scaling. It is suitable for large archives and, for example, media data storage, as well as when the user wants the disks to be encrypted by the array itself.
Storage. This bundle includes MSA 2070 (only SFF here) and two 1.92 TB SSDs with all licenses available for this platform. This solution is cheaper than purchasing the 2070 and adding more disks later if needed. The disks included with the 2072 are not encrypted. So, if encryption is required, the 2070 should be purchased and configured accordingly.
HPE MSA 2070 Flash bundles. This platform comes with 12 SSD drives (various capacities available) and RAID. The disk sets are available at a significant discount, much cheaper than purchasing them separately. You can start with 23 TB or 46 TB of high-performance flash memory, with the option to expand the capacity at any time using HPE SSD 6-pack disk sets or single disks.
The basic internal software the user works with is the management console. HPE MSA Gen7 introduces an interesting and useful new feature – the Smart Assist internal framework, which allows specialized additional system software to be deployed and run within the system. Users now have access to software such as –HPE MSA Health Check ,
which helps detect potential issues and ensures the stable operation of the array. Users receive valuable advice and recommendations: what to pay attention to, where and what might be wrong, and understand what actions need to be taken to resolve specific issues.
