Community News Belly Dancers raising money for local girl

Dog Owner?

Great work by April and the ladies who attend the Belly Dance classes at St.B’s on a Wednesday night. They raised enough money from the classes to pay for a Pamper Day for a local girl who is recovering from cancer treatment and her mum, who has supported her through all the illness and treatment.

Would you like to make a difference to someone’s life? Do you enjoy knitting or crocheting?

Researchers from the University of Lincoln and Glasgow Caledonian University are collecting information on the walking and sitting time of people aged 65 or over living in Cambridgeshire who are dog owners. Thanks also to Tammy from Beauty Box for her support and Donna from SiennaX Using a small specialised activity monitor similar to a pedometer, we can Spray Tanning who have donated tell you about your activity patterns additional treatments to make the day without interfering with your daily life. extra special. In addition, CPLT who support the classes as part of the National Should you wish we can also send you a profile of your activity? Lottery funded Learning for Wellbeing If you want to be involved or know Project which is running in Yaxley and more information please contact Farcet. Anyone wanting to join in with Thomas Devine. Telephone: 01522 the group is welcome at St’B’s on a 835488/E-mail: tdevine@lincoln.ac.uk Wednesday evening at 6pm”.

We’re looking for people to make baby hats for Berega Hospital, Tanzania where the babies often die from hypothermia as there aren’t the facilities to keep them warm. Volunteer UK doctors who work at this hospital say that lives would be saved if only the babies could be kept warm, so here’s our chance to help! The hats can be any colour, pattern or wool – they just need to be sized for a premature or newborn baby. Yaxley library has kindly agreed to have a collection box, along with hat patterns, so when you’ve finished a hat or two, just pop them in the box. We’ll send them to KOFIA, the charity that runs this wonderful scheme. If you can’t see the box, please do ask at the library desk. As this is a long term project we plan to be collecting hats for many months. Please help us to knit or crochet hats and save the lives of malnourished and premature babies - just by keeping them warm.

Charity Ball for FASD While most people now are accepting the fact that drinking alcohol when pregnant is maybe not a good idea, what the majority of people have still not realised is that if you do drink when pregnant you are running the risk of your child being born with a condition called FASD (Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders).

Ricky steams ahead! A passion for restoring vintage engines has resulted in a collection of nationwide winning trophies for local enthusiast, Ricky Kemp.

Alcohol is an “interference” that can cause the normal development of the foetus, particularly the brain, to be disrupted. Unfortunately, once this damage is done it cannot be repaired or cured. This means that those born with FASD will struggle with behaviour, learning and physical difficulties for their entire lifetime. The FASD Trust is the only national charity supporting those affected by FASD, their parents / carers and wider family. As FASD as a condition is not well-known, many people affected feel isolated, which is why The FASD Trust runs support groups across the UK including one in Peterborough for local families, to which the children come along. International research has shown that the adults with FASD who do best are those who “know and own” their condition, which is why The Trust has developed and continues to develop, a range of resources specifically for children and young people explaining to them, and those around them, what FASD is and what it is like to live affected by FASD. We are very grateful to Jo and the rest of the team who are organising the Ball in March in Peterborough to raise funds towards the work of The FASD Trust. The monies raised will go directly towards our work supporting children and young people with FASD. You can find out more about FASD and the work of The FASD Trust at www.fasdtrust.co.uk or feel free to call us on 01608 811599. (See advert on page 30)

Ricky, who is a member of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club, currently travels all over to show his engines that date from 1914 to the 1930’s. His hobby started with visits to steam rallies, but he had no knowledge about them until he spoke to local retired farmer Tim Micham, from Holme Village, who happened to have an engine in his garage and gave it to Ricky! Six years later, with trophies mounting, he hasn’t looked back. His success is also featured in specialist magazines.

Divorce & Separation Cohabitation Disputes Pre-Nuptial Agreements Mediation Financial Matters Children Matters

For further information contact our local Family Law Specialist, Abby Smith

Protect Your Future Before Marriage or Cohabitation Valentines Day is nearly upon us bringing a time of love, happiness and engagement for some couples! Many couples may have assets and money they wish to protect. Nobody wants to think about what happens if their relationship ends unhappily, but preparation can prevent heartache and arguments at what will be a very stressful time – it is like an insurance policy. Pre-nuptial agreements are prepared and signed before the wedding. Both parties should obtain independent legal advice on the terms and legal meaning of the agreement and it should be prepared at least 3 months before the wedding itself. A pre-nuptial agreement is not automatically legally binding in England & Wales but the views of the court are changing and each case is considered on its own individual circumstances. A pre-nuptial agreement shows what each party intended to happen if they were to ever separate and it is better than having no written agreement at all. Equally couples who choose to cohabit, but not marry, can protect their financial assets by preparing a Living Together Agreement. Abby Smith of Setfords Solicitors always approaches matters in a sensitive but proactive way in the hope of assisting couples to reach a swift, amicable agreement specific to their needs. For any Family Law queries please contact Abby Smith for a FREE initial telephone consultation. Thereafter meetings can be arranged at a time and venue convenient to you, with competitive charging rates.

Community News Holme Afternoon Tea Club The many changes the village of Holme has seen were depicted in a slide show and talk presented by Sue Knight at the February meeting. Some of the photos dated back to the 1910’s but many alterations have taken place in times that are more recent and the photographs reminded us of how things altered in the last few years. A tea of sausage and mash and bread and butter pudding followed the talk. The next meeting will at Holme Village Hall, on Wednesday 12 February at 2.30pm when Tom Davies will speak (this talk was postponed from January’s meeting) Contact Sue Knight 01487 830768

St. Peter’s Church Pledges Auction If you have been in St Peter’s Church over the Christmas period, you cannot help but have noticed how bright and clean it looks after its redecoration early last year – and the efficient new lighting system, with its great atmospheric effects. Well, we are still raising money towards paying for this, and are having a Pledges Auction in the evening of Saturday 15th March. The finer details will be circulated next month, but pop the date in your diary, and let all your family and friends know about it, as there will be some great items to bid for. Pledges to-date is too many to list, but include: French/Italian lessons, Having a room painted, Piano lessons (any ability), A summer wildflower walk and picnic for six people, Reflexology sessions, A trip to Huntingdon Racecourse, Maths tuition, A winter week for two in a catered ski chalet (wow!), a place on a communicator-guide course to work with deaf blind people (wow again!) If you would like to offer a pledge, contact Fran Russell on 244493, or at fran@lancersgap.co.uk Look out for further details next month!

Holme WI A number of our members attended a lunchtime meal at Peterborough Regional College in December; the students had worked hard to produce a good standard of food and also great service. We also had a very good night out at the Admiral Wells for our annual meal at the end of January; great food and excellent company. Our next meeting will be on Thursday 6th March, 7.30pm at Holme village hall when we will be hearing about “puppy walking”. Visitors are very welcome, come along and give us a try.

Yaxley WI We had a very nice meeting in December when 27 members and 11 guests attended. After enjoying a buffet and drinks we were entertained by Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo courtesy of Rob Lancaster and which brought back lots of memories. To add to the fun there were fabulous prizes such as ‘tea for 2’ at a venue of your choice and a ‘washer/drier’ for the lucky winners! Our January meeting saw us at our new venue of the Lancaster Club, Main Street where 22 members and 1 visitor heard an interesting talk by Chris Donaldson from the East Anglian Air Ambulance service. It is amazing to think that this service has been operating for 14 years and is funded entirely by donations. We should be justly proud that it was the first in the country to have equipment to enable it to fly at night after its original start of flying only 1 day per week (Friday). At our meeting on 13th February we are welcoming back Dr Tom Davies, always a very interesting speaker and visitors are most welcome.

WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER

Streams in the Desert

Perfect for a romantic date Perfect for a romantic date

Women’s World Day of Prayer is an international, interchurch organisation which enables us to hear the voices of women from all parts of the world: their hopes, concerns and prayers. The preparation for the day is extensive. An international committee works from New York and each participating country has its own national committee. Regional conferences meet to consider the service and then local groups make their plans. Finally, at a church near you on March 7th, women and men will gather to celebrate using a programme of worship offered this year by women in Egypt. The theme of our service is ‘Streams in the Desert’ and we are asked to reflect on our Christian role of being a ‘stream in the desert’ for those who experience spiritual ‘drought’. We believe that the service from Egypt has universal appeal. One of the oldest civilisations in the world, Egypt has long been home to Coptic Christians. Since the uprising in 2011 there has been conflict between religious groupings. Political change affects individual lives and we pray with the women of Egypt for peace. We envisage a great wave of prayer, rising with the sun over the island of Samoa and sweeping across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas, coming to rest in American Samoa some 36 hours later. By then WWDP services will have been celebrated in over 170 countries. All are welcome to attend, men and women and people of all ages. For further information and resources, together with details of services in your area, see the WWDP website: www.wwdp.org.uk

Pamper your Pet at Mucky Hounds Show your pet some extra love with a pamper session at Mucky Hounds Dog grooming salon, based in Haddon. We offer a full grooming service including hand stripping, clipping, scissoring and nail clipping for all breeds in a clean, safe and relaxing environment. A collection and delivery service is also available for an extra charge. As well as keeping your pet looking smart there are many benefits to getting your dog groomed whether they are long or short coated. Regular grooming will keep your pet clean and remove dirt and dead hair. Grooming stimulates new coat growth and prevents the formation of knots which could lead to skin irritation. It is also a great way to check for any parasites or suspicious lumps or bumps and it is an important part of your dog socialisation activities and gets your dog accustomed to being handled. It is especially important to get your puppy into a regular grooming routine. At Mucky Hounds we understand the fears your puppy may face on their first visit to a salon so we offer a free introductory groom for all puppies under 4 months old once he or she is fully vaccinated. This free taster will allow your puppy to become familiar with the sights and sounds of the salon and will include nail clipping, ear cleaning, introduction to brushes and being brushed, a spray of doggie perfume, a bow or bandana and of course plenty of treats and cuddles.

Churches Yaxley Methodist Chapel Foodbank in February 2013 I wrote in the Gazette, that we had collected a vast amount for the Peterborough Foodbank. One year later I am delighted to say that the generosity to this worthy cause knows no bounds. I would like especially to say a special thank you to the Manager and residents of Snowhills. They have been giving items from their weekly shop which culminated in an enormous donation of non-perishable items for the Soup Kitchen and Foodbank before Christmas and they are continuing this generous way of helping the less fortunate. I wonder how many people found hope for the future by knowing there are people who really care about them. Women’s Day of Prayer is on 7th March at St Peters Church this year. Coffee morning held on 8th February when we will be selling our delicious homemade cakes. Come along at 10 a.m. Services are held on Sunday mornings at 10.30 except on the 9th when a lovely service followed by a shared tea is held at 4pm. All are welcome to join us. St Peters Church A group of 14 of us are very excited as we leave for 2 weeks in Rwanda at the beginning of February. We will spend a few days in the capital city Kigali and one of the anticipated highlights will be going to the Star School. I have been to this amazing school before and am very much looking forward to going back. Many of the children are orphans and their lives have been transformed by this school. We will be meeting Hope, the boy whom St Peter’s sponsor and many other children sponsored by members of this and other churches. We have also been promised a game of football after lunch (which as on every other day will be rice and beans). We then have a very long drive by bus through breathtaking countryside to Cyangugu in the south west of Rwanda. This is the area where Nathan Amooti, whom some of you will have met, is the bishop. We will be there for 10 days and have a very full programme of projects which we will be assisting with. Working with the local community we will be building a house for a widow and her family. May I say a big thank you to the local businesses and others who have contributed to the cost of building this house. As well as house building we will be teaching in a primary school, helping at the medical clinic (our team includes 2 GPs), helping to feed children, visiting people at

home and much more. If you are interested in hearing more about our trip we will be “reporting back” during the 11am service at St Peter’s on February 23rd. You are all very welcome. Not long after we return, on February 28th, we are starting our next Alpha courses. Alpha looks at the basics of Christianity and is an opportunity for you to ask questions too. We will be running the course at both 9.30am and 7.30pm. There will be a crèche available for the 9.30am course which will be held in the church. The evening session will be at the Vicarage. Please feel free to come along to whichever time works best for you. If you would like further details please get in touch with me. Finally, we are having an auction of pledges at St Peter’s in the evening of Saturday March 15th. Proceeds will be helping to pay for last year’s rewiring and redecoration of the church. Further details are in the article elsewhere in this month’s Gazette. I hope to see many of you there. Can be found on page 10 With my prayers. Gardening

February February is a month that can bring heavy snow and if it does it is a good idea to take a brush and gently brush the snow off your trees and shrubs to prevent damage to branches. Prune your wisterias if you are lucky to have one - cutting back the side shoots to two or three buds. Prune back winter flower and Jasmine (Jasminum nudiflorum) after it has finished flowering. Take off all dead flowers from winter flowering pansies and generally keep tidy and if you have space in your garden for a nice easy to grow shrub why not plant a vibernum xbodnantense or a sarcococca to fill your garden with a wonderful scent. In the vegetable garden continue chitting your early potatoes for which I am told there will be a shortage of seed potatoes this year. Sow onions, beetroots, broad beans and leeks in modules but take care to allow them plenty of light or they will grow tall and spindly. Continue pruning soft fruit such as gooseberries, cut back main shoots to three buds of last seasons growth and cut back all other shoots to seven and a half centimetre of the base, low branches grow into the centre of the bush can be removed altogether and white currants and red currants prune back by about seven centimetres and prune all other side shoots back to one bud. Choose up to three of the oldest branches of the well established branches and cut those back to young vigorous shoots. Try not to trample over your lawn too much as you risk damaging the grass particularly through frosty periods and repair any damaged edges. Last but not least - Don’t forget to feed the birds and give access to plenty of clean water and why don’t you make a log pile to help small mammals and insects to thrive. Heres hoping February is not too dreary and that you have a good gardening month! “In his garden every man may be his own artist without apology or explanation” Louise Beebe Wilder

Schools Yaxley Infant School Our whole school theme this term is ‘Nursery Crimes’ so if you see the dish running away with the spoon or Wee Willy Winky running through Yaxley please let us know. The children will also be looking carefully at the case of ‘Humpty Dumpty’ did he fall or was he pushed? The terrible work of Jack Frost and how the North wind doth blow!

about the mystery and intrigue behind nursery rhymes.

The ‘Friends of Yaxley Infant School’ have had a successful Festive period, raising almost double their target. This will enable us to purchase some much needed staging for our budding thespians and a cooking station for our master chefs. Thank you for all their hard work, kind contributions locally and the Our theme will be launched with a visit from Cambridge Folk Museum continued support of our parents who will be helping us find out more past and present. The past year has brought us fabulous fetes, a Hawaiian day complete with indoor beach, Pirates and Princesses Day, and visits from the Police and the Life Bus. Fantastic learning experiences!

Stilton Playgroup

A Wonderful Year! In January, we waved ‘goodbye’ to 2013 and had much to be thankful for. A great era ended as we bid farewell to Jane, our long-time Playgroup Leader. She is now enjoying her retirement with her granddaughter. We welcomed Lesley as the new Supervisor and she is now settled in her new role.

We continue to fund-raise and are very grateful to our villagers for their generosity, particularly in December. Our Christmas Fete and two-day Santa Float raised approximately £1000! Special thanks to Darke Steel for their help in providing transport for Santa! So, on to 2014! One month in, we are looking forward to many more exciting events and opportunities!

Fourfields We are very pleased to have been invited to become a partner school with the Royal Horticultural Society in recognition of the success of our School Garden. This means we are a showcase garden for other schools and the base for garden workshops in our area. Congratulations to all our staff, parents and children who help keep our garden looking so fantastic – and with new potatoes freshly dug from our garden on our menu – so tasty! During the half term our garden will be extended to increase the opportunities for more children to be involved. Meanwhile we have started working towards the bronze level of the ‘Food for Life’ plan which recognises how schools’

promote healthy food including how they grow it and cook it. Each half term we will focus on a seasonal fruit or vegetable and this half term we are learning all about the carrot. These are featuring in our school lunches as vegetables, snacks and even as Carrot Cake! In addition, members from our Cookery Club have been learning about the fun of cooking – while touching on maths, science and social skills! Young Interpreters on hand to help with translation A team of 28 Young Interpreters who speak a total of 10 different foreign languages have been assisting other Stanground Academy students, parents and staff. These inspirational young leaders, who wear purple ‘Young Interpreter’ badges on their school uniforms, are on hand to act as buddies for pupils who have just started at school and do not speak English as their first language. They also help with support, interpreting and translation around school. Between them, the Young Interpreters speak Lithuanian, Polish, Russian, Latvian, Czech, Slovak, Hindi, Urdu, Punjabi and Greek. Students value the opportunity to be an active part of the Academy community. Young Interpreter, Lukasz Grzech, who is in Year 13 and speaks Polish, said: “It is a great idea for bilingual students to help newly arrived students. I was new once and I really needed this kind of support”. Teacher of EAL, Anna Godzisz, who launched the Young Interpreters scheme said: “It has really helped to raise the profile of our multinational community. The scheme equips them with new skills they may use in their future professional career.” SENCo Matthew Tee said: “It is nice for the students to give them additional responsibility and also the students might feel more comfortable speaking to an interpreter who is another student rather than an adult.” This new leadership opportunity complements our range of leadership opportunities offered at Stanground. These include; Sports Leaders, Business Leaders and the Academy Student Council.

Although Christmas is perhaps a distant memory there are a few excellent memories worth recounting to you. Good won out over evil, as it often does, in the Year 4 performance of “Hagbane’s Doom” as the children performed with such gusto to the school and to parents and friends, who came along to see the play. Parents and friends also watched the youngest members of our school, perform the nativity in St Peter’s church and commented what a lovely service it was. Since returning to school, Year 4 have been to visit the Leicester Space Centre as part of their topic this term “The Universe and Beyond!” The children experienced what it was like to be an actual astronaut and carried out moon rock analysis to find out if it supported life forms using ph. as their measurement – isn’t amazing what you can do with vinegar? Following their return to planet Yaxley, they were so struck by their experience that they were inspired to write to the children at Fourfields Primary School to try and persuade them to go to the Space Centre too. One child wrote “You got to visit the Planetarium and it was awesome!” You never know, this experience may have inspired a child, or two, to venture into space in the future… Year 5 this term are learning about the Greeks (both ancient and modern) and they wondered if any of the readers of the Yaxley Magazine could teach them a few words of the language. So if there is anyone who could help the children with their learning they would be most grateful; please just contact the school office if you can help. As you may remember from last month’s issue, Mr Cooper retired as Head-teacher and the governors have appointed Mrs Kay Corley as interim Headteacher. Mrs Corley has a great deal of experience of where our school needs are right now and we are all looking forward to working together to further improve our school.

Holme Village Pre-School

Stilton Primary School

This term we are focusing on the “people who help us”, we have enjoyed a visit from one of our children’s grandparents, who read a story and we are looking forward to future visits from different people including a policeman, teacher, carpenter.

The spring term is now well underway at Stilton Primary School and the children are busy exploring their new topics. In Key Stage 2, the children are learning about Europe. They have been thinking about how different European countries compare and contrast with each other, including their language, landscape and climate. Hedgehog class have been focusing on Germany and thinking about biographies of iconic German people, such as Anne Frank.

The children are also making their own food. They have enjoyed decorating gingerbread men and making fruit salads for snack time. This helps them understand counting, using equipment safely and making choices. They have also made pizzas as developing our own recipes has linked in with meals we eat at home with our families and helping to understand that food is important to us. We have also welcomed some new children to our PreSchool and hope they will be very happy with us. Finally, as we are a charity, we have a range of fundraising events coming up, please contact us for information, and see our website or Facebook page.

Children in Key Stage 1 are learning about materials this term. They have been thinking about the differences between natural and manmade materials. In art, they have been making collages and sculptures using a range of different resources. In DT, the children have been designing their own playgrounds and have made model playgrounds out of junk materials. The topic in Reception this term is toys. The children have been thinking about different toys for inside and outside, as well as old and new toys. They have used Paint on the computer to draw pictures of their favourite toys, which are now on display in school.

Schools Farcet C of E School Christmas seems a long time ago now but it is worth mentioning how well the children performed in their Christmas plays and how much we all enjoyed the Christmas Carol Service at St. Mary’s Church along with other members of the community. This term, we are excited about our new topic ‘The Elements’. There is a buzz around the school as the children are getting stuck into the inspirational science work. We are also looking forward to being involved in events outside the school such as a bible exhibition, cross country event, athletics competition and a residential at the Stibbington Centre.

Little Acorns Day Nursery and Montessori School At Little Acorns day nursery we have been taking advantage of the bad weather by jumping and playing in the lovely big muddy puddles we have. The children have been having lots of fun exploring the different weather changes.

Goldilocks, the Three Little Pigs and Peter Pan. The children have taken part in a range of activities such as making porridge, pig masks and many more. Linking with this theme a small group of our children visited the library for story time.

Pre -school children have been looking at the gingerbread man story, and have been making their own gingerbread people. Throughout the month the children have looked at a range of stories such as

Taxation “Did you file your 2013 tax return and pay any tax on time”? If not you should do so now to avoid incurring additional penalties, interest and surcharges. Question: What is considered a reasonable excuse for filing your tax return late? Answer: Generally, a ‘reasonable excuse’ is when some unforeseeable or unusual event beyond your control has prevented you from filing your return on time. For example: • •

a failure in the HMRC computer system; your computer breaks down just before or during the preparation of your online return; a serious illness, disability or serious mental health condition has made you incapable of filing your tax return; you registered for HMRC Online Services but didn’t get your Activation Code in time;

• •

The following bizarre, exotic and flimsy excuses have all been used by taxpayers without success: 1. 2. 3.

My pet goldfish died (self-employed builder); I had a run-in with a cow (Midlands farmer); After seeing a volcanic eruption on the news, I couldn’t concentrate on anything else (London woman); 4. My wife won’t give me my mail (self-employed trader); 5. My husband told me the deadline was 31 March, and I believed him (Leicester hairdresser); 6. I’ve been far too busy touring the country with my one-man play (Coventry writer); 7. My bad back means I can’t go upstairs. That’s where my tax return is (a working taxi driver); 8. I’ve been cruising round the world in my yacht, and only picking up post when I’m on dry land (South East man); 9. Our business doesn’t really do anything (Kent financial services firm); and 10. I’ve been too busy submitting my clients’ tax returns (London accountant). All of these people and businesses received a £100 penalty from HMRC for filing late. They appealed against the decision using these excuses, but were unsuccessful. HMRC’s Director General of Personal Tax, Ruth Owen, said: “There will always be unforeseen events that mean a taxpayer could not file their tax return on time. Dates to remember: 19 February PAYE due for the tax month ended 5 February 2014 if paying by cheque or 22 February electronically. 28 February is the date you may incur a surcharge plus interest on any outstanding tax for the year ended 5 April 2013 and first payment on account for the tax year ended 5 April 2014.

PULLED PORK ANYONE? If I were to choose my dream job, it would undoubtedly be to be a food critic. Can you imagine how much fun it must be? To turn up at a restaurant, be shown to the finest table in the house, have the world’s finest chefs slave over a pristine platter of magnificence just for you, all for you to write ‘I don’t like fish’ and dismiss their entire efforts? That would be perfect. Sadly, this is unlikely to happen. Mainly because I don’t like fish and I don’t like mushrooms; two ingredients that feature prominently in many recipes. So instead, I thought I might try my hand at celebrity chef. Boys and girls you are in for a treat as I am going to share with you the most indescribably delicious pulled pork recipe your taste buds have ever experienced. • Take a large piece of pork. It doesn’t matter which sort as you’re going to cook it for 8 hours, but a bit of shoulder works well. • Cut off any excess fat, as this will taste disgusting after 8 hours cooking. Like cellulite on a plate – seriously you don’t want it. • Swear profusely as you nearly chop your thumb off, and feel disgusted that a bit of raw pig went on your wound. • Swear even louder as you rub the chilli, brown sugar and cumin marinade all over the pork, wondering at what point you had added the brimstone fresh from hell itself that is now burning its way through your newly acquired hand wound to the mix. • Having stopped crying, place the pork in your slow cooker, add half a carton of tomato passata, turn to a medium heat and trudge drearily off to work. • Return home 8 hours later having been driven out of your head with the hunger all day, and weep as you realise you have forgotten to turn it on at the plug. • In temper throw pork in the bin, go to Harvester and order pulled pork. If you’ll excuse me I’m off to sit by the phone, I’m expecting the food network to be calling me any minute now…

Cosmic Katie‘s Stars

FEB 2014

By Katie Lancashire, Clairvoyant and Astrologer

Aries March 21-April 20 You are striding forwards as you mean to go on and you are almost unstoppable, what has once held you back and made you feel insecure is now in the past. Show peoples exactly what you are capable of. A certain someone will catch your eye around the 12th; this could be the start of something really lovely. Taurus April 21-May21 Wow, this really is a month to set plans into action for you, planetary activity around the 16th sees you being unstoppable, aim high and reap the rewards. If your relationship has been a little neglected or you feel stifled, talk things through, you may well be surprised at how easily it can be remedied. Gemini May 22-June 22 Thinking of heading in a new direction and having a fresh start? That may be all very well and good, but ask yourself, ‘what are you running away from? Is your current set up so bad? Or are you simply chasing a dream?’ This is not a month to be impulsive, bide your time and see what comes. A relationship needs extra TLC at the moment, pull out all the stops. Cancer June 23-July 23 You are finally letting go of all the things that have held you back for so long and its full steam ahead for you this month. Plans are put into action, and there will be barely anytime to stop and reflect. A meet up with old friends should be snapped up; you will have a great time. Romantically, your time to sizzle is around the 25th, enjoy!
