New Children’s Author

How can you ensure that your children face life with confidence and positivity? Read on...

Elaine Slade, a retired teacher living in Peterborough, talks to Term Times about how she made a childhood dream come true when she became a successful children’s author.

Do you have a childhood dream you are still waiting to fulfil? That was how I felt when I retired from my teaching career as a Deputy Head of a large primary school in Surrey. I had longed to be a children’s author ever since I sat at the top of a tall elm tree in my garden in East London and made-up stories in my head. We moved to Werrington three years ago to support elderly relatives and I put my energy, teaching experience and creativity into fulfilling my dream to provide quality, children's story books which support parents and teachers to raise youngsters’ self-esteem. They are aimed at three to eight-year-olds, although the reviews state the theme is applicable to all ages and abilities.

"An ideal present to help the children in your family, among friends or in your school face life confidently and positively!"

Two books are already published; ‘Oh No Charlie Farley!’ (theme: everyone is special and unique) and ‘Don’t be Scared Charlie Farley!’ (theme: discovering courage inside to face fears), with a third ‘You Can’t Play Charlie Farley!’ (theme: being yourself rather than trying to fit into ‘group’ expectations), due out in early 2022.
