Serpentine Green is getting bigger and better Next to expand and M&S Simply Food to join line-up at Serpentine Green as £7 million extension works commence bringing a 100 jobs boost to local area.

C

onstruction work is starting on a £7 million extension to Serpentine Green, with Next signed up to open an expanded 10,000 sq. ft. store in one of the new units being created. The fashion retailer will open with M&S Simply Food moving into the space vacated by Next, and due to open in time for Christmas 2017. The extension will result in an additional 100 new jobs. The works, including a further three stores to the front of the existing building, will add to a varied retail line-up which includes River Island, Clarks, Boots, H&M, Outfit, New Look, and Tesco Extra. Additional work is being carried out to improve the public space directly in front of the centre, with a new pedestrian square including cycle

parking linked to a cycle route through the car park. David Wait, centre manager for Serpentine Green, commented: “We’re excited that this project to extend and improve Serpentine Green has started and look forward to welcoming new retailers, as well as familiar faces relocating within the scheme. “It’s important for us that Serpentine Green evolves in line with the needs of retailers and customers, creating the right space for people to shop, eat and drink as well as providing more choice.” Over the coming year, parts of the car park will be re-routed to allow the works to take place. Some adjustments to the car park layout will be made, however disruption will be kept to a minimum.

Have you discovered Hampton’s independent coffee shop? Nestled within Hampton Parish Church, Chimes Coffee Shop is proving extremely popular with residents and those further afield! Now open for over year, it has grown within the community and we are so lucky to have this café here. Chimes caters for everyone; ehether it’s mums and tots visiting the purpose built crèche whilst sampling delicious homemade cakes, or friends meeting for breakfast, lunch or just a quick coffee, Chimes can cater for everyone. Chimes caters for individuals, groups of friends and small community groups, so just speak to Tony, the coffee shop manager, and he will be more than happy to discuss your requirements. A variety of cakes are available including some that are made on site. Tony’s homemade scones have become legendary! For lunch, there is a selection of freshly made paninis, sandwiches or hot soup that is made daily and is

served with croutons and a bread roll. If you’re an early bird you can enjoy a croissant or bacon sandwich for breakfast. Speciality coffees and teas are served all day long, with a choice of tasty snacks and biscuits. If you prefer cold drinks, an excellent selection is available. It's a fantastic place for toddlers! Chimes has a purpose built crèche which makes it a perfect venue for parents and toddler to meet. There is no additional charge to use this crèche facility. Comfort is also key when you visit and if you’re lucky enough to bag one of the comfy, cosy sofas you won’t want to leave! Pop along and pay Chimes a visit and experience this hidden gem within our community. Chimes has been awarded a 5 star food hygiene rating.

Would you like to find out more about your local running group? We're a familiar sight around Hampton on a Monday evening. You've probably seen us running in our lycra and luminous yellow jackets on a cold winter's night, or sprinting around one of the estate's lakes in wind and lashing rain. For those of you who don't know who we are - we are Yaxley Runners. Despite the name, we meet every week in Hampton, on Mondays for seniors, and Fridays for juniors. 2016 is a special year for the club as we celebrate our 30th anniversary. In that time, we must have run millions of miles, but the philosophy of the club has remained the same over the past three decades. We're a friendly running club, open to runners of all abilities, whatever your speed. Our Monday night sessions will see some three hour marathon runners joined by those who will be running and walking just a mile or two. We especially enjoy welcoming people who are new to running. The thought of turning up to a running club

full of fit, fast runners (we wish!) can be pretty intimidating when you've only been lacing up your trainers for a couple of weeks and can barely run around the block without stopping. But we've all been there - everyone was new to running at some point, and we always try to ensure that newcomers are made to feel welcome. Each week we have two runners on a beginners' rota, who will accompany any newcomers at a pace they feel comfortable with. The senior section of the club meets every Monday, at 6.30pm, at the Hampton Hargate Sports Facility, in Beaumont Way. Membership costs just £10 a year, but feel free to come along for a couple of sessions before deciding if you want to take the plunge and join! Our Monday night sessions generally involve a different route each week, with several different options of length. Two Mondays a month we also offer the option of a structured

training session with one of the club's qualified coaches. The club also meets at various venues for a run every Thursday, to add a bit of variety! One of the things we are most proud of at Yaxley Runners is our thriving juniors' section. This meets every Friday, at 6pm, and children from the age of 8 are welcome to attend. We really do have some excellent young runners at the club, and it is fantastic to see so many of them out enjoying running every week, rather than being sat inside playing on their XBoxes or Playstations. All sessions are taken qualified UK Athletics coaches and coaching assistants, all of whom are fully CRB checked. As with the adults, membership costs just £10 a year, and children are welcome to come along to see if they enjoy it for a couple of weeks before joining. Children of all abilities are welcome to join, we are not an elitist club in any way, so your

son and daughter does not need to be the fastest in their class to come along and join in the fun! Away from our club nights, we have members taking part in races across the country every week. From marathons down to 5ks, the chances are you'll see one of our yellow and green vests if you're at a race anywhere in the region. We've had some amazing results over the past year, with our members continuing to put in superb performances. Recently, our club's marathon record was broken at the London Marathon, when James Mogridge crossed the line in a fantastic time of 2:36:22. And it's not all about running! Perhaps the best part of being in a running club is the camaraderie and friendships formed, and we have a thriving social scene, with plenty of nights out and events across the year. If you're a keen runner, or you just want to give running a try, we'd love to hear from you.

Just pop down on a Monday night if you're interested. Or visit our website at yaxleyrunners.org.uk for more information. 8

Hampton seniors Well it's getting to that time again with Christmas on our minds. Where does the time go? The clocks will have gone back, Halloween will be over, and we'll be looking forward to bonfire night. I will be liaising with Mrs Yeeles, asking once again

if the children can come over to the Seniors' Club to sing carols for us in December, which is such a treat. Parents, grandparents and friends are all welcome to listen to the children. A date is still to be confirmed. Watch this space! Dianne Dearden

HAMPTON COMMUNITY WILDLIFE

Hampton nature reserve Hampton Nature Reserve (HNR) is a huge wild space nestled between the Hamptons and Orton Goldhay.

The site’s rugged terrain and 300+ ponds are artefacts of its industrial heritage as a clay pit. However, this uniquely manmade landscape has proven to be perfect for wildlife, chiefly the great crested newt, playing home to the largest population in the world. Froglife and a team of volunteers manage HNR on behalf of the landowners, O&H.

Teams go out every Thursday and two Saturdays per month to cut back the encroaching scrub to burn on bonfires (which are also great for baking potatoes and roasting marshmallows!). Although the volunteer teams were set up to manage the site they quickly evolved into a social event with members dropping in whenever they can and often becoming regulars.

For more information about volunteering on Hampton Nature Reserve please contact us t: 01733 602102 or e: info@froglife.org www.froglife.org/what-we-do/froglife-reserves/hampton-nature-reserve/

Lakota (Lover of Nature)

Spiders can produce webs of the most intricate beauty but also engender real fear in many people It is at this time of year that spiders’ webs can be seen most clearly highlighted with the early morning dew, but also the time of year when they seek refuge from the cold in our homes and become most unwelcome houseguests. House spiders remain in their webs, which are most commonly found in sheds, garages and wood piles during the summer months. But at the beginning of autumn the males go wandering off in search of a mate. Although some spend all of their lives within our homes, often unseen and unnoticed. When the male finds a web, and if the signs are right, he starts to woo the female

10

spider. He pulls gently at her web, being careful not to be mistaken for potential food, and if accepted mates with her. He stays with her for some while but as winter approaches he dies. As spring approaches the female produces a series of silk-covered eggs sacs which are hung near the web. Depending on the temperature the eggs take between 30 and 50 days to develop into baby spiders. Often there are 50 or more of them to each sac. After about a week they disperse to construct their own webs and live independent lives. Initially, being small, they feed on fruit flies and midges but as they

grow move to larger creatures such as wasps, moths and flies. Interestingly, spiders only need to feed occasionally to survive. The web of a large house spider can last for a long time if not disturbed. In an undisturbed place such as a garage or shed it can last for many years and over its lifetime have many different occupants. Rather like our own homes. There are approximately 650 species of spiders in Britain with four of these being house spiders. If it makes any difference then about your feelings towards that spider running across your front room, it is looking for love!

Christ the Servant King The shops are full of Advent Calendars – including lots with chocolates. Have you bought yours yet? We don’t have an advent calendar in church, but we do have an Advent ring, sometimes called an Advent Crown, consisting of four red candles around the edge of the ring, and one white candle in the middle. Advent is the first season of the church year, leading up to Christmas and including the four preceding Sundays. The first Sunday of Advent this year is on Sunday 27 November. The word 'Advent' is derived from the Latin word ‘adventus’, meaning 'coming'. The dictionary definition describes the meaning of advent as 'the arrival of a notable thing or person'. Whilst Advent is certainly a time of celebration and anticipation of Christ’s birth, Jesus giving up the glories of heaven and coming

to earth as a baby to reveal who God is, it is also a reminder that Jesus promised He would return once again. During our 10am service, one candle will be lit on the first Sunday of Advent, two are lit on the second Sunday, and so on. Each candle has a different meaning. On Sunday 25 December we will light the central white candle that represents Jesus, the Light of the World. Do come and join us during Advent at our 10am service to find our more and look out in the December issue of the Gazette for all the extra services and events we will provide at CSK to celebrate together, when we will be singing traditional carols such as ‘O Come O Come, Emmanuel’, Emmanuel - ‘God with us’.

Hello from Hampton WI What a busy few months we’ve had and with lots more to look forward to why don’t you pop along before the end of the year to “try us out for size”? September’s meeting found us listening to Stuart Orme (Head of Operations at Peterborough Cathedral) telling us all about the history of Peterborough from prehistoric times to the present. One of the most striking things we learnt was the fact that our Polish, Italian and Asian communities have been part of Peterborough for hundreds of years and there are more findings of international importance in Peterborough than perhaps anywhere else in the country. Peterborough is a hugely significant historical site which we at Hampton WI didn’t fully realise. Can we say a huge thank you to everyone who came to

our Crafternoon Tea. It was a great success and will definitely happen again for all of those who wanted to come but couldn’t make it. We loved it. It was brilliant to see adults and children learning new crafts while chatting and laughing. Our October meeting saw us welcome Muni Arselani. Muni is an incredibly talented local mosaic artist (www. munismosaics.com) and she told us all about mosaics, how she got into it and showcased some of her beautiful pieces. We then had the opportunity to make our own mosaic coasters. The results were brilliant and I think some of the ladies are now hooked! Lastly, we just want to let you know that our HAMPTON WI CHRISTMAS FAIR is coming up soon and will take place on Saturday 3rd December from 2:30pm ‘til 5:00pm. There will be the usual scrumptious WI cakes, tombola and raffle along with some fab commercial stalls.

Winter car care with Excel Auto Care With shorter days and colder weather approaching us, it’s important to keep up to date with your car maintenance to prevent breakdowns or even accidents. Excel Auto Care offer free winter health checks to ensure you and your family don’t get caught out Here are a few essential tips to keep you safe this winter: Tyres should have at least 3mm of tread for winter motoring. Consider winter tyres for improved safety and check tyre pressure regularly. Battery - the most common cause of winter breakdowns. A battery more than five years old may struggle in the cold - get it checked and replaced if necessary to avoid the inconvenience of a breakdown. Antifreeze Check the coolant level and if required, topup with the correct type of antifreeze. Your garage should check concentration to ensure adequate cold temperature protection.

Fuel keep at least a quarter of a tank in case of unexpected delays or traffic. Lights check and clean all lights regularly to make sure you can see and be seen clearly. Carry spare bulbs, your garage will be able to provide the correct sort. Windscreen reduce dazzle from the winter sun by keeping the screen clean inside and out. Ask your garage to check if wiper blades need renewing. Screen wash use a 50% mix of a good quality screen wash to reduce the chance of freezing in frosty weather. Carry de-icer with you. Locks and door seals help prevent doors freezing shut with a thin coat of Vaseline on rubber door seals. A squirt of WD-40 in locks will help stop them freezing.

PETS

Fireworks can frighten pets

Happy P ws

Other pets such as Cats and Dogs can be kept inside with windows, door, and cat flaps kept close to save them going outside in a panic. Make sure you allocate a space for them to go the toilet. Make sure they have somewhere to hide for example under some furniture. If your pet starts acting fearful then try to ignore them and do not comfort as fearful pets can sometimes prefer to be left alone. If you are worried that your pet is taking a long time to recover from the firework festivities, speak to your vet. Your vet may also wish to refer you to a behavioural therapist.

HAMPTON BASED

Fireworks Night is just around the corner and as much as we all love to go out an celebrate and watch the pretty colours in the sky this can be a very anxious time for pets, many pets will be easily spooked by the flashing lights, and loud bangs of the fireworks. With just a few practical changes at home your pets should feel much more calm and relaxed. Outdoor pets such as guinea pigs and rabbits can be brought into the house for the night and left in a secure box with plenty of hay for comfort. If you do decide to leave them outside then make sure you cover their cage and give them extra bedding so they can burrow.

Were you a Hampton pioneer?

Your guide to

Living in Hampton

At the end of next year, Hampton Hargate will celebrate its 20th birthday, so 2017 is a special year for the Hamptons. Planning permission was granted in 1993, but O&H Hampton put a special brick into the first home on 17 July 1997, and on 12 December 1997 the first residents moved into homes on Holly Walk, Hampton Hargate in time for Christmas.

Did you buy one of those homes? Are you among the first residents of the Hamptons? We’d love to know if the first pioneers are still here, and to hear your stories of Hampton Hargate in the earliest days.

In association with

Hampton Hargate, 2016 The first of the Hamptons to be built, Hampton Hargate has matured into a peaceful and relaxed village community designed around village greens, crescents and parkland settings, with thriving allotments, extensive playing fields and children’s play parks. Visitors are drawn to Hampton Hargate’s neighbourhood centre, shops and restaurants, the Tump offering views over the countryside, and beautiful Serpentine Lake.

Hampton Hargate, 1996 The first homes are under construction. A developer and planning authority with less vision might have chosen just to level the site, reclaim all this land and cover every inch with houses. Instead, O&H Hampton has worked closely with landscape architects and wildlife organisations to preserve a rich historical and environmental legacy for everyone to enjoy.

Send us your stories, and photos if you have any, to O&H Hampton at enquiries@ohhampton.co.uk

If you have an idea for a subject you’d like to see featured here let us know by email at info@hamptongazette.co.uk You can also follow @ohhampton on Twitter For further updates, please visit: www.ohhampton.co.uk Hampton Gazette | November 2016 | E: info@hamptongazette.co.uk | www.hamptongazette.co.uk

YOUNG GAZETTE

EDUC ATION Little Acorns

Hampton College (Primary Phase) Wow! What a lovely start to school life for our two Reception classes. We began our ‘transition to school’ journey with home visits, which gave our Early Years team the opportunity to meet the children in their home environment, and to meet some very friendly pets too! It was a great experience for all and something we could talk to the children about during their first few days at school. During our Stay and Play session in June 2016, where our children came to visit school for the first time, we set the children a challenge of making their very our treasure chest over the summer holiday, ready to bring to school with them. It was a lovely way to support the children in feeling happy in

their new classroom by having something to comfort them, and it was a great conversation starter. During the first week the children spent half a day at school, and loved exploring both classrooms and the outdoor learning environment. The children have now had two full weeks at school and have enjoyed taking part in a wide range of activities. These have mainly focused around Traditional Tales with which most of the children were familiar. Outside the children have enjoyed creating various flavours of porridge for the Three Bears in our eco-kitchen, as well as building a new chair for Baby Bear using our large construction blocks. The children have also enjoyed re-enacting various

stories using story masks and props, and puppets they have been busy making. With support from their Year 3 ‘buddies’ the children have adapted well to their lunchtime routine, and are looking forward to continuing their transition journey by joining in with school assemblies. We are very pleased with how well our children have settled into Hampton College and have been impressed with the way they have begun making new friends and demonstrating good co-operating skills. The children will soon have completed their first half term at school, and we are excited for more chilly Autumn days next term.

The Hampton Macmillan Fun Run 2016 was as always a great event too. Our wonderful Sixth Form helpers entertained the runners and spectators and made wonderful stewards. The school raised lots of money to support Macmillan with activities such as non-uniform, the coffee morning and lots of traditional games and stalls. The PE Department held a hugely successful themed Community Project. The project was run in conjunction with Get Set Community Action and Age UK Peterborough. Forging partnerships within the Hampton Community. The event was about bringing the local community together to celebrate the successes of the GBR team in the Rio Olympics and Paralympics. Elderly residents who suffer from dementia, Alzheimer's and

other mental health problems were invited to HC to take part in a multi-skills/sensory circuit alongside students from the primary phase. The activities were led by secondary Sports Council Leaders. It was a chance for the residents in the community to interact with young children and teenagers encouraging all involved to develop socially, morally, culturally and spiritually, instilling important British Values and Olympic Ideals.

Hampton college primary reception teachers.

Hampton College The autumn term is well underway at HC with lots of exciting news. The Business Studies students have submitted their Business Plans to Peter Jones in the Tycoons in school competition and trading begins this week for those involved in the Student Investor Challenge – Good Luck! HC wins award for young carer support. We have been given a Silver award for our work in making sure that students don’t miss out on an education because they are young carers. The Young Carers in Schools programme helps schools improve outcomes for young carers and celebrates good practice. On Saturday the Primary Phase held its second Autumn Family Fun Day – another great success! 20

September has been a busy month at Little Acorns; we have lots of new children who we have welcomed to the nursery together with their families. The babies have been enjoying the change in seasons, they have been exploring the leaves in the garden which are now falling from the trees and they have made autumn pictures using their hand and foot prints the leaves they have collected . Our toddlers and pre-school have enjoyed taking part in “The Little Acorns Bake Off.” They have made different treats throughout the week which they have had for their snacks and also taken them home for their families. The Pre-school have been out in the village for a Nature walk where they collected conkers, leaves and twigs, they have also been learning about road safety. If you are looking for a place to start this school year, please call or email the nursery on 01733 244000 or (littleacorns.daynursery@ yahoo.co.uk) for more information.

Hargate Primary Our autumn term continues to be busy and we have been enjoying everything going on so far. We have had classroom visits, class assemblies, parents evening, Roald Dahl day, trips to the Harry Potter Studios and our Harvest Festival which took place at the end of September. Thank you to everyone who brought in donations for this, which were sent on to the Peterborough Food bank. In fundraising news, a massive THANK YOU to everyone who collected sponsorship money for the Macmillan Run which took place in Hampton on Friday 23 September. The weather was once again kind to us and the

children did a fantastic job at running round the lake. The money is still coming in but we are delighted to announce that so far we have raised over £1000! November will be another exciting month with lots to look forward to. We have Powerdown fortnight , Children in Need, a visit to Flag Fen and lots of preparation for all of our Christmas performances. And finally, congratulations to Aaiza in Year 2, one of the winners of a recent Oxford Reading Tree Story writing Competition. Aaiza was one of 30 winners who have had their 12 page stories printed into books. Well done Aaiza!

Busy Bees children are dentists in the making

Pre-school children from Busy Bees nursery in Hampton Hargate recently paid a visit to the Pepper Clinics dentist on Hargate Way to explore the importance of teeth hygiene and wonders of dentistry.

Staff and children were given a guided tour of the practice by British Dental Surgeon, Dr Barry Healy, while the children also had the opportunity to sit in the “We can’t thank Diane, Dr Healy dentist chair and learn how to and the rest of the team at the correctly brush and look after their Pepper Clinics enough. SPECIAL

The Brangelina breakup So Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt and it is reported that she has reached the end of her tether with Brad’s abusive behaviour and his marijuana and alcohol excesses. Brad’s alleged behaviour can be used in establishing the cause of the breakdown of the marriage if Angelina cites allegations of unreasonable behaviour against Brad. It is also reported that there may be a disagreement as to who the couple’s six children live with and that Angelina is set on taking the matter to Court. Brad’s use of Marijuana can be used as an important factor in the decision making by the court if the substance abuse takes place in front of the children. This also applies to any abusive behaviour irrespective of whether it is caused by drugs or alcohol. If the Court finds in Angelina’s favour it

may also impact on the time that Brad spends with his children. Sorting out a financial settlement may also get messy if there are no pre or post nuptial agreements in place, if tensions remain high between this couple, even if their net worth is millions of dollars and ownership of several properties. With the assistance of their Lawyers it is hoped that Angelina and Brad will adopt a conciliatory approach to resolving the issues concerning the children and a financial settlement which has to be in everyone’s best interests. It would be excellent publicity for collaborative law if the Brangelina divorce was dealt with collaboratively – check out the Best Divorce Options Group website for how we do it this side of the pond. www.bestdivorceoptions.co.uk

WHAT’S ON EVENTS GUIDE

Whats' On The Fletton Railway Children comes to Hampton Eastern Angles return to The Undercroft this autumn with Julie Mayhew’s The (Fletton) Railway Children - an imaginative retelling of E. Nesbit’s muchloved classic. Siblings Bobbie, Phyllis and Peter had to leave London and “play at being poor for a bit” when their father was wrongly imprisoned. Now, back in the capital, the family reunited, the children turn storytellers and recount their lives as ‘Railway Children’, living in the New England railway worker ‘barracks’, absorbed into the lives of the characters at Peterborough East station and its neighbouring goods depot. The (Fletton) Railway Children explores loss of

innocence, nostalgia and a sense of belonging in an era of great change and new, uncertain beginnings. Expect Beatlemania, teenage rebellion, sibling solidarity and heaps of train enthusiasm all set against the backdrop of Dr. Beeching’s drastic railway cuts. Writer, Julie Mayhew says “The (Fletton) Railway Children is based on a 1960s Peterborough where railways had catapulted the city from rural obscurity to a busy, vibrant, transport hub. The show will be performed at The Undercroft at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre. Firework fiestas!

Top tips for making your fireworks party go off with a bang Food and decorations

A warming autumnal soup is sure to go down well with guests, and mini sparklers are a great way to liven up sandwiches. For pudding, you could decorate cakes with coloured icing in the shape of fireworks or rockets, and don’t forget the toffee apples! To make an easy firework rocket, roll a rectangle of coloured card into a tube and stick in place with double sided tape. Cut out a circle of card, with a wedge missing, roll and tape to make a cone for the top. Stick it on and attach a wooden barbeque skewer (with the point cut off ) to the inside of the tube. Fill the tube with sweets, close the bottom with a circle of card, and glue on some paper streamers. Display several in a tall glass vase. Decorate the table with layers of coloured tissue paper in red, yellow and orange, rather than a table cloth, and string party lights around the walls. You could also try attaching streamers to colourful paper lanterns to hang from the ceiling.

Drinks

Games

If you have children coming, why not keep them busy making a Guy? You’ll need to provide plenty of old material, plus stuffing. You could also pre-make a papier-mâché head using paper, glue and balloons, or buy it from a craft store or eBay. Alternatively, you could have a Guy making competition, where everyone makes a smaller Guy, or decorates a gingerbread man, with a prize for the winner. Kids and adults alike love a piñata, and you can buy them in a variety of shapes. Fill yours with sweets or small treats, such as stickers and balloons, and hang it outside from a tree. Make sure you give whoever’s swinging the stick plenty of space!

Fireworks

Most people will want to watch the fireworks from outside, so you might want to dig out some spare blankets, gloves and hats for anyone who isn’t prepared. If you’re setting off your own fireworks, take time to explain the danger to children, and make it clear how far back they need to stand. You’ll also want to ensure that any pets are safely inside. Of course, it’s safer and cheaper to take advantage of a nearby firework display. They can be Kate seen for miles, so you may By Duggan well be able to stay in your own garden, avoid the crowds and make the most of those warming drinks...

Hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows is sure to prove popular with children and drivers. You could also make a warming alcoholic drink for adults, such as mulled wine, liqueur coffee or hot toddy. Hampton Gazette | November 2016 | E: info@hamptongazette.co.uk | www.hamptongazette.co.uk

Changes for Landlords of Buy-to-Let Properties: From April 2017 the way landlords receive tax relief on their mortgage or loan interest will change. Landlords will no longer be able to deduct their mortgage interest relief from rental income before calculating their tax liability. Instead they will get a tax credit equivalent to 20% basic rate tax on the interest amount. All mortgage interest tax relief will gradually be cut back to 20% between 2017 and 2020. In addition to this if they receive child benefit they will have to pay an additional charge as their income level subject to tax will have increased. One way around this could be to incorporate a limited company but many factors have to be taken into account and professional advice should be sought before doing so. A landlord could also transfer ownership of the property to a spouse or partner who is a lower rate tax payer, but again there are CGT implications to consider before doing so. The generous wear and tear allowance on furnished lettings was abolished in April 2016. Landlords will now be able to claim relief on a replacement basis, but no relief is available for the initial expenditure. Restrictions will also apply to integral fixtures. Landlords providing furnished holiday accommodation will not be affected by these changes and they will continue to receive relief under the capital allowance regime.
