After I spent one month in Villalba on the practice days of my master, I got to know Pablo He wanted to self build a place where he could manage his beekeeping tools, and he wanted to build it with natural materials
The first stone on the way were that the village’s planning regulations were not updated to the national and regional ones, so we started a conversation that lasted months with the town hall until we could move on with the project.
We learn together how to use different materials and discuss which method he would be able to build by himself We decided to go for a full straw bale structural walls
Pablo is still building his house, having a slow life style He already built up the cimentation on lime concrete and then raised the straw bale walls. He made wooden frames for the openings to then compress the straw bale walls
Some time after starting Pablo’s project, a college sent me the contact of Alberto. He was looking for a while for an architect who could help his family to build their dream house on bioconstruction methods
Judith and Alberto had worked before on construction sites and they started to create a local network based on sustainable building Consequently, they invited Sento to be part of the building process Sento had recently created his company Prefuspa, where he develops prefabricated panels of wood and straw bale We designed the panels and started shaping the house
We de entry to the house to the or sting together, and a separe
This family will soon start to build their house They will take tasks to also build themself with the knowled they have. The kids included!

As an a oper of the post-in he dinning room,
The project respects the traditional way of living inbound of the city, proposing at the same time an interior private path that comunicates the sourrandings of the city with the historical center
We are on a neirghborhood mostly residential but with preexisting elements with strong presence: the train station and the Vardavar lake, aligned forming the exe that organises the neirghborhood, also, it is perpendicular to an exe that vertebrates the city and that conects to the city center.
The building we have to rehabilitate is just beside the train station and in front of a big empty space on the cross of these two exes.
The proposed exercise was to put more residences inside the building Moreover, knowing the elements mentioned, I decided to insert a more comertial space linked to a future economic development of theis capital city
This involved a divergence of opinions with my tutors during the classes It was finally accepted by them, even though it rebounded on the final mark.
On the chosen environment of the project, it is visible the repercussion of inconscious actions of the human beeing on the planet
We see a brutally transformed landscape
It should be inevitable from our proffession not to face how can we reverse this problem.
This prints caused by extractivism of marble, a material used mostly by architects
The denunciation and critic of pernicious operationson the territory is necesary to raise environmental conciousness
This final degree project has as purpouse to put in the spotlight the environmental degradation caused by architecture amongst others.
These are places we have abandoned, and they do not have other way out than be transformed again, to be given back to society.
Moreover, we have to be aware that we live on a continously changing society, so the permanent architecture might not be the correct answer
Anyway, projects on places like this one, should show what we feel when we contemplate an human-altered landscape as a reminder of our capacity to damage.
For developping this concept, I then set up three examples of uses that we could give to this places: Water reservoirs, natural pools and, the one I developped into architecture, a bamboo forest.
On a flexible structure we will hace a Bamboo processing plant. We contemplate also the posibility of visitors, for example from Woofing, could stay on resting modules inside the structure or more equipped ones for longer stays
This structure hangs over the clift of the quarry and every floor of it would hold the different phases of processing bamboo.
The resting spaces are distributed in between floors to have balanced routes on the structure.
A self-construction module is proposed for the resting areas It will be made up of bamboo pieces manufactured on the plantation itself and reusable metal profiles.

Collective mural in lime, sgraffito technique - Potries 03/22
As part of the “Moradas en Construcción” collective, we created a protest mural about women workers in the construction sector on the 8th of March. The mural was made of lime using the sgraffito technique, that is, several layers of lime were plastered with color pigments and the different layers were poured according to the design to obtain different levels and textures
Design and construction of ephemeral structures - Madrid 11/22
In order to denounce the mass consumption created by the Black Friday, I worked for an environmental NGO to create mountains of garbish for standing on the streets during the day and raise awareness of the people passing by
Myself and my partner Daiana held a weekend workshop on the theory and practice of lime and clay finish. We carried out the practice in an old stone house from the collective Mas del Potro. They have the objective of making attractive again for young people their territory and recovering local heritage
