Creating breeds more creation - That’s what I literally always say. At the 2026 Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival™, I met a lovely couple, Bryan and Calebe™, who not only bought my first oil painting ever (Cat House™), but reached out later about a possible commission. I’ve always made art as gifts and favors for the people in my life, but I’ve only recently opened myself up to painting commissions... transactionally. I will not
tell a lie, there’s quite a bit of the imposter’s syndrome that comes with asking someone you just met for a significant amount of money in return for your time and skill. And just like that, the voices are quieter... Saying it out loud, typing it into copy - that’s what a transaction is baby! Anyway, Bryan prompted this beautiful piece out of me. Not only is it the largest oil painting I’ve ever put to canvas, but it’s bright and meaningful and very special.
