Works...

Together with designer Silje Nesdal, Arna Kristine recently exhibited her works at the Furniture Fair Salone Satellite in Milan. In Norway, the wall hanging textile Åkle is usually a woven pattern, depending on the region. Silje Nesdal made her own version based on her travels, and her trysts with the Japanese culture and craftsmanship. Nesdal’s vintage kimono has been an inspiration. By taking fractions of the fine silk-printed fabric and rearranging as well as adding elements, it turned into a composition that Lund-Johnsen wove on a TC2. They used a cotton warp and Norwegian wool from Rauma Ullvarefabrikk as the weft. The piece was woven with satin weave and the density of the fabric was six ends per centimeter. The duo used six shuttles/colors for the piece.
