Laura Letinsky and John Paul Morabito Works‌ Laura Letinsky and John Paul Morabito began their collaboration in 2013 to develop Stain, a project exploring the interstices of art and design. Stain is a set of eight napkins that, with use, will develop an ongoing patina. Stain rejects utopic notions of whiteness, and embraces smears and dabs both for their beauty and as evidence of a life well lived. Letinsky and Morabito have continued their collaboration in the Telephone Game Tapestries, a series of photographic and textile abstractions: Sites of trampled floral detritus are filtered through the photographic lens into new digital compositions that meet transgression when rendered in wool. Line by line, these digital screens are consumed by shifting colors, as wool threads hang loose and tangle within the flowers. All is put through the filter of experience of apprehension and digestion. Discordance amongst the flowers is made material. It is a decidedly profane ecstasy.
