OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
June 23, 1972
On behalf of the Saint Franc is College community, I congratulate the members of the Class of 1972. Your years at Saint Francis were coincident in time with four years of turmoil and unrest in American society. You have challenged the values of the broad society concerning war, civil rights, poverty, environmental pollution, etc. - To some extent, at least, your challenge has been successful in awakening the American conscience. But problems of yesteryear remain, and the past is now your legacy. How will you, in turn, respond to the challenges? Will you prove yourselves to be Iiberated? Wil I you respond free of irrationality, prejudice, and pure self interest? Will you give of yourselves openly - perhaps completely - toward the resolution of human problems? We are anxious about your responses, for the measure in which you respond, individually and collecti'vely, will be one measure of success achieved in the task that brought us together on this campus. Thus we wish you well. We pray that the influence of Saint Francis, the person and the institution, sustains you in the important work that lies ahead. May your I ives be both happy and profitable. Cordially,
•
Ernest R. Therrien Acting President

For his eighth consecutive year, Dick Dourghty did his thing at St. Francis. This is the only college on Dick's tour. The MOTUS would like to extend great thanks to Dick and his gro up for all of the good times they hove brought us here at St. Francis. It seems no matter what the atmosphere is like on campus before Dick comes it is always better after he has been here. We all hope that the future will bring bigger and better weekends.

We wanderers, ever seeking the lonelie r way, begin no day where we have ended another day; and no sunrise finds us where sunset left us.
