The Best Internet Security Brand 2018 award was won by Kaspersky for its advanced security solutions. Best Structured Cabling Brand & Best Wireless Router Brand 2018 attained by D-Link.

Seagate won key storage award for Best HDD & External Drive Award along with other brand awards. Western Digital also bagged two awards for Best SSDs Brand 2018 and Best Surveillance Storage Solution Brand 2018 Award while SanDisk was named for Best Flash Drive Memory Brand 2018 at the award night. Lack of Digital Skill Sets is The Greatest Barrier to Transformation Infosys released global research, The New Champions of Digital Disruption: Incumbent Organizations, that reveals that under a quarter of organizations surveyed, understand that commitment to digital is at the heart of true transformation.

And, it is these organizations that are reaping rewards from digital disruption.

According to the research, more than half of all respondents surveyed, rank focus on digital skillset as the most important factor in successful transformation, followed by senior leadership commitment and change management, implying the need for a conducive organizational culture.

Visionaries, Watchers and Explorers The research identifies three clusters of respondents based on the business objectives behind their digital transformation initiatives.

• Visionaries (22 percent) understand the potential of the digital revolution to completely transform their business • Explorers (50 percent) commit to digital programs driven by the need to enhance customer experience • Watchers (28 percent) see digital transformation through the prism of efficiency

Lack of digital skill set – greatest barrier

Visionaries believe that true transformation comes from the core and without this in the background, digital technologies will not perform to their potential. The study reflects that their commitment to modernizing from the core will yield benefits, such as improved productivity and efficiencies.

Transforming from a low risk organization to an organization that rewards experimentation (43 percent) and lack of change management (43 percent) were the second and third greatest barriers, showcasing the turbulence and resistance to change associated with digital transformation.

Agility in championing digital disruption Visionaries watch and explore futuristic trends which currently escape the notice of the other two cohorts. They boast of increased clarity on opportunities and threats of digital disruption over Explorer

When ranking barriers on the path to digitization, building digital skill sets was found to be the most prevalent (54 percent) challenge for organizations, highlighting the lack of digital skill set available.

The importance of establishing an ecosystem

on acquiring digital native firms, to quickly gain the digital skills that 71 percent of the Visionaries believed were lacking in-house.

IoT devices are becoming a part of the mainstream electronics culture and people are adopting smart devices into their homes faster than ever. Growing need for real-time monitoring, tracking and automation coupled with favorable government initiatives has driven Internet of Things (IoT) market in India. In just one year alone, we went from having 5 million IoT devices connected to the internet to billions. India is projected to grow at a CAGR more than 28% during 2015 – 2020 in IoT market. IoT is believed to change the entire way people communicate, work and live. Its connectivity for everyone, everything and everywhere. It is going to have an influential impact on how the businesses and government interact with the world.

Growth in the market is anticipated on account of ongoing technological developments in IoT technology for providing better connectivity and coverage as well as real-time monitoring & tracking of services and systems across diverse industry verticals to reduce operational and manpower costs. Huawei Replaces Apple to Become No 2 Smartphone Vendor Globally Huawei Consumer Business Group (CBG), the global smartphone giant, overtook Apple in second quarter of 2018, to become number two smartphone vendor globally for the first time.

According to International Data Corporation (IDC) Worldwide, Huawei earned 15.8 per cent market, ahead of Apple at 12.1 per cent. The entry of Huawei in the second position marks a turning point for the smartphone industry as it delivered shipments of 54.2 million units with a record high market share of 15.8%.

Huawei has recorded 41% year-on-year growth leaping ahead of the other two brands globally during the same period last year. Huawei is leading the innovation space in the smartphone industry. It is important to highlight that the company is the sixth biggest spender in R&D globally, with $45 billion spent over the last 10 years and a whopping $12 billion last year only. Sophos Introduces Intercept X for Server Blocks Cyber Attackers from Hitting the Business Bullsey Sophos announced Sophos Intercept X for Server, next-generation server protection with predictive deep learning technology that provides constantly evolving security against cyber threats. Once inside a network, cybercriminals can use persistent and lateral moves to target and takeover servers to access the high-value data stored there, such as personally-identifiable information (PII), banking, tax, payroll and other financial records, proprietary intellectual properties, shared applications – all of which can be sold on the Dark Web or used for other types of attacks and monetary gain. Servers can also suffer collateral damage from ransomware and run-of-the-mill cyberattacks. Attacks reaching servers can be more devastating to a business than attacks on endpoints, due to the critical data they hold.

Xiaomi Launches Its Latest Mi A2 Smartphone in India with 20MP Front Camera Moreover, Mi A2 supports Google’s Project Treble, resulting in faster and easier system updates than other Android devices so users can get their hands on the latest features.

Xiaomi expanded its Android One lineup today with the introduction of Mi A2, which features powerful photography capabilities and a host of notable upgrades from the previous generation. Starting INR 16,999, Mi A2 encapsulates Xiaomi’s commitment to offering amazing products with honest prices to let everyone in the world enjoy a better life through innovative technology.

Key features of Mi A2:

The wildly successful Mi A1 was launched in September last year as Xiaomi’s first Android One device. Mi A2 is now set to take the Android One series to a whole new level, with its wide repertoire of low-light features including portrait selfies in low-light.

Mi A2 is a photography powerhouse, sporting a 12MP + 20MP rear AI dual camera and a 20MP front camera. It is powered by the Qualcomm® SnapdragonTM 660 SoC with the powerful Qualcomm® Artificial Intelligence Engine (AIE). As a benefit of the Android One partnership, Mi A2 will have unlimited high-quality photo storage with Google Photos to ensure users will never have to worry about running out of photo storage.

Mi A2 features a stunning 5.99-inch 18:9 Full Screen Display, protected by a 2.5D Corning® Gorilla® Glass 5 panel, in a beautifully-designed aluminum unibody with a curved back panel that is tapered towards the four sides. Measuring just 7.3mm thick, Mi A2 offers great aesthetics and ergonomics at the same time.

Another unique feature on Mi A2 is manual selection of the rear lens -- the 20MP or 12MP rear camera, according to environment lighting. For example, switching to the 20MP sensor when shooting in low-light situations takes advantage of the large 2.0µm pixels for brighter photos.

At the same time, Mi A2 is a dream come true for those who love selfies.
