t’s a sentiment that has taken over the community, because we are strong. Wimberley is resilient.

If you listened to the national news coverage, Wimberley was completely under water but that wasn’t the reality and Wimberley continues to be open for business.

When driving into town on Ranch Road 12, as you cross over the Blanco River Bridge, you realize that the river, which rests some 30 feet below, raged 10 feet above the sdyhphqw1#Wkh#ixu|#dqg# pdjqlwxgh#ri#wkh#Ğrrg#lv#wuxo|# hard to comprehend, even for wkrvh#zkr#h{shulhqfhg#lw#Ľuvw# hand.

Wkh#uheluwk#dqg#frppxqlw|#vslulw# that has happened since that Memorial Day weekend showed why locals consider Wimberley “A Olwwoh#Elw#ri#Khdyhq/Ĥ#dv#wkh#vljqv# say when you drive into town.

It’s a community that came wrjhwkhu#wr#khos#hdfk#rwkhu1#Wklv# year, instead of the normal hustle and bustle of the summer season, ylvwruv#zhuh#yroxqwhhuv1#Wkh|# came from far and wide to lend a helping hand to a community in need.

Many volunteers were the very tourists who enjoy Wimberley year after year. When the call for help went out, they rescheduled ylvlwv#dqg#lqvwhdg#ri#uhod{lqj# around town, they went to work with locals shoveling mud, washing clothes, preparing meals and much more. Hundreds of volunteers who had never heard of Zlpehuoh|#ehiruh#wkh#Äžrrg#fdph# to help.

It proves Wimberley is strong: in spirit, community and resiliency.
