On October 19th, 2015 they began their lives together
Mr. & Mrs. Benavidez Jourdan and Daniel HOW DID YOU MEET? We met online through our mutual love of video games! I lived in Houston and Daniel lived in Corpus Christi. After playing our Xbox together online for a couple of months, we decided to meet in person. It was love at first sight and we have been together ever since!

FIRST DATE: Our first date was the day we met in person, October 19th, 2012. HOW DID THE GROOM PROPOSE? Daniel proposed to me in Mexico on October 19th, 2014…so this date is very special to us.

season was finally dying down and no one else was on the beach. We walked the shoreline, collected sand dollars, body surfed, and laughed the entire day away. It’s still a special place to us. We even returned there for our engagement photos!
that I had met the man I would marry. She, of course, said, “you’re crazy! It doesn’t happen like that!” Nine years later, I was right! GROOM: The first night I met Kinsey I thought she was so beautiful and funny. Then I learned she was smart too! It really was love at first sight. I didn’t want to believe it because it all happened so fast, but I knew she was the one when I couldn’t stand to leave her when it was time for me to go back to college in Waco. I wanted to marry her then but the last nine years have made me love and respect her even more. Our marriage was worth the wait.
HOW DID THE GROOM PROPOSE? Jared proposed on our 8th
“dating” anniversary. He was supposed to be at work, so I went and had a long massage at Woodhouse Day Spa and planned to have a relaxing evening. When I came home, I clumsily opened the door and there he was. I was so surprised! He suggested we go to dinner at our favorite restaurant, The PumpHouse, but before I went to change and freshen my makeup, I heard our dogs at the backdoor. I opened the door and there came our three dogs all wearing signs that said, “Will you marry our dad?!” Jared got down on one knee and I said YES!
BEST PART OF PLANNING YOUR WEDDING? We really enjoyed bringing our families together. Jared’s mom picked out my wedding dress, my mom and I spent hours laughing, sharing ideas and making some of the décor, my dad helped design the stage and reception layout and Jared’s dad, quite literally, gave us light by setting up

the generators to power up the band and lighting for our reception. Each of our parents and stepparents has played an important role in making us the people we are today, and they were a huge part of planning and celebrating our big day.
FAVORITE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? We enjoyed every
minute of our wedding day. My cousin, Casey, did an amazing job creating a sincere and personal ceremony for us. We all laughed and cried. I never knew I could feel so many emotions in such a short period of time. After the ceremony, our favorite part was dancing under the stars and our family friend doing the “Alligator”. You can’t beat some old, good-time dancing!
TIPS FOR BRIDES & GROOMS: Having an outdoor wedding
reception was very important to Jared and me. We met dancing under the stars and we wanted going to spend our wedding night the same way. But, hey, let’s face it: weather in south Texas in unpredictable. We thought we had it all covered… rain plan, check! Mud plan, check! Leveling for stage, check! Wind plan, wait…what?! We had not prepared for the 30-mile per hour winds that howled through the fort on our special day. We had wrought iron candelabras, flowers, cocktail tables, and chairs FLYING! If planning an outdoor wedding, make sure you have a wind plan. Bring weights or sand bags to weigh down tables, Velcro to tightly secure candles to candelabras, and washers to pin to tablecloths. Also, go into the day knowing that all details will not be the way you envisioned -- don’t sweat the small stuff. The day is about you, your partner, and sharing your love with your favorite people. Dance your heart out and have the time of your life!
