LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT Hello fellow residents. I want to take a moment to wish everyone in Timberwood Park Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays. I hope that everyone gets to spend time with family and friends during the holiday season. I’ll jump right in with a quick report on some of the recent events. The Halloween event was another success. I received many positive comments from residents regarding the addition of the security officers in the park. The parking situation worked well and many residents reported feeling safer than in previous years. The brush and bulk waste cleanup was well attended also. This event is a great service provided by the HOA for residents. I want to give a big “THANK YOU” to the over 25 volunteers that took time out of their Saturday to help residents remove brush from their vehicles and the volunteers that helped at the Halloween event. Thank goodness that’s over. The election this year was hotly contested and on many occasions, emotional. I’m talking of course about the national election. As I write this letter a few days before the election, it seems to me that the mudslinging and character bashing reached an all-time high. Regardless of the outcome, either Clinton or Trump has their work cut out for them. Hopefully the winner can find a way to make some positive changes for our nation. As I write this letter, our neighborhood election is quickly approaching. Regardless of who is elected, I wish them luck with all the future planning for the neighborhood. In addition to the candidate elections, the clubhouse vote is also nearly complete. IF the result of the vote is to continue forward with the clubhouse project, architects will be interviewed and one will be chosen to do preliminary drawings and designs.
Budgets will begin to take form, specifications on the finish out will be discussed and determined, and the process will move forward, with a final vote being taken later to determine if we proceed after budgets and plans are established. IF the results were to stop the process, the newly elected Board will plan some new projects. I’d like to recognize a few residents you may not know, but should. They volunteer countless hours of their time for the community. Paul Rutkowski is the chairperson of the Neighborhood Watch Committee. Paul and his committee members collect information and communicate about the safety of the neighborhood. Mary Ann Cox and Marilu Lee are the co-chairpersons of the ACC (Architectural Control Committee). This group spends hours of their time each week handling the many project requests submitted to them every week. Christy Foy, the park activities coordinator, is doing a fantastic job. Robert and Matthew, our park maintenance crew, do a wonderful job keeping the park looking great, maintaining the facilities and building new projects. Barrett and Ashleigh Pepper continue to do a great job as our Continued inside
