SISD: Continues to Persevere

Dr. Jeff Burke, Splendora ISD Superintendent While the 2021-22 school year did not start as we anticipated, with the COVID-19 Delta variant disrupting our schools tremendously, I am proud of our staff, students, and community for weathering this crisis and persevering. We have completed our first nine weeks, and have seen tremendous success across our district, with many of our extra and co-curricular programs

earning awards and accolades or advancing to the playoffs. It is a true testament to the spirit of the Splendora ISD community that we pull together and do what is best for our students. Our new Auto Paint and Body program, under the direction of Derek Dugger, is experiencing great success, and we are excited about the future of this program, and the future contributions of our students who are enrolled. The next few years will be very exciting for our district, as we are experiencing tremendous

growth, with approximately 9 different developments underway in Splendora ISD. This growth will require us to construct new campus facilities in the future, and over the next few months, we will begin our community committee process to help shape our next bond, slated for November of 2022. We are excited to welcome our new families to Splendora ISD, and we are thankful that so many are choosing Splendora ISD for their students’ school experience and for employment. As Superintendent of Schools, I continue to remain honored to serve this school district and

this community and look forward to what lies ahead. Although the growth will be challenging, it presents an opportunity for Splendora ISD to continue serving students, who will become the leaders of tomorrow, and it is our job to continue furthering our democracy. Public education always has been and remains the best avenue in which to do this. I am thankful for all the support provided by our community and county and look forward to sharing more of the exciting things happening in our wonderful district. We continue to cultivate exceptional people!
