The Landmark Apartments of Beaumont proudly count themselves among the small but growing number of participants in the Hapi Foundation’s mission to provide free education, nutrition, and fitness programs within apartment communities. The nonprofit Hapi (Healthy Apartment Property Initiative) Foundation was established in 2013 when its founders realized that more than 55 million Americans lived in apartments, and that American rates of obesity and chronic diseases were on the rise as a result of unhealthy lifestyle decisions. Hapi brings health-related programs and nutrition solutions directly to the doorsteps of these families, helping them to establish and maintain a wellness routine that is sustainable for life. Landmark’s Hapi contact, Trish Thierry, has been thrilled with the success of the program but notes that there is always work to be done. “We need volunteers in the community who know how to cook healthy food.
