The World’s Tallest Horse, Who Held A Guinness World Record, Has Died at Age 20 The World’s Tallest Horse has died at the age of 20. The Wisconsin 6 ft. 10 inch horse that weighed in at 2,500 lbs passed away at the farm owned by Jerry Gilbert, “Big Jake’s” owner stated. Big Jake entered the Guinness Book of World Records certifying him to be the world’s tallest living horse in 2010. A native of Nebraska, 240 lbs at birth, normal colts weigh 100 lbs at birth, is being memorialized by keeping his stall empty and inserting a brick on the outside of it with his picture and name.

There’s A New Kid In Town (Las Vegas) The Vegas strip is welcoming in its newest casino family member as pandemic recovery continues in Sin City. The Malaysianbased gaming operator, Genting Berhad, launched The Resorts World Las Vegas as a $4.3 billion investment property. Gamblers will be able to use cashless wagers at the casino slots and gaming tables through the Resorts World App on their smartphone. They are also working on getting cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, to see how one day guests can gamble and pay at multiple locations as well as pay for property amenities & dining. 6

BACK TO SCHOOL LUNCH IDEAS

HOW TO MEAL PREP A WEEK'S WORTH OF EASY SCHOOL LUNCHES We are officially a couple of weeks away from school starting. With that, all of us are re-finding our routines and putting a few new systems into place that correlate with this busy season of life. Let's takes some of the stress out of our busy lives and learn some tips on how to prep our kids' school lunches (& get them out the door faster in the mornings!)

TIP #1 The first thing I did this year is sit down with my boys and figure out what each of them enjoys most. My biggest problems leading into this year have been over-purchasing foods, trying to overcater to their specific taste buds, then ending up in a hamster wheel of packing the same things on repeat with very little variety. So, I sat with the boys and asked them what their favorite foods are, and wrote down all of the items that they could all agree on. We took some time to look for quick ideas online together to come up with 15-20 different lunch options as well as a variety of quick and tasty sides. Now, when I am grocery shopping/meal planning for the week, I can glance at their list and be sure to stock up accordingly. This list has items they will all eat, so I can now quickly put together lunch ideas without over purchasing food while offering some variety from week to week.

TIP #2 Keep it simple! One of the primary goals is to be speedy about lunch making. Whether in the morning or the night before, I don't want to have to invest much time in putting everything together. And really, the best case scenario is that I give the boys the tools they need to be able to do everything themselves. That might mean giving into some pre-packaged items or creating my own quick snack packs that we can all just grab-n-go. Typically I portion off crackers, popcorn, fruits, veggies, protein bites, etc... Whenever I can, I select fruits and veggies that I know I will get the longest life from (I have found that grapes, carrots, celery, cucumbers, pea pods, oranges, peppers, melon, and apples will typically stay fresh throughout the course of the week without concern of spoiling, and are easy to portion out). THIS IS HUGELY IMPORTANT AND PROBABLY MY BIGGEST TIP. Aside from the fast fruits and veggies mentioned above, we all really love berries as well. So, while putting groceries away and doing my weekly meal prep I will soak/rinse them in a bowl of water and vinegar for a couple of minutes. They seem to last longest if I do a quick soak and then let them air dry before refrigerating.

TIP #3 OK, so basically the first step was to select the simple sides that can easily be tossed into a lunch, and next, I like to do a little prep. Again, I am putting groceries away anyway, why not just put them away in individual grab-n-go packages to make the entire week go smoother? All of the pre-prepped snacks and sides are put together in a section of the fridge that the boy's love to grab from.

After experiencing the weirdest eighteen months of our modern existence, we’re “shot girl summer” ready and have our schedules ready to pack. We are saying ‘yes’ to every single event we are invited to, every project that comes our way. You have that new idea that you’ve been wanting to tackle along with your current obligations. Before you know it, you’re staying up late at night, running on fumes, and not wanting to let people down. Sound familiar? That wall that you hit when you’re overwhelmed is something millions of individuals are feeling at this moment. Sometimes you just truly do need a break. Does this sound like a luxury? Sure. If you’re in a professional space where you can ask your boss for time off, like a sabbatical, ask for it. Last year’s COVID Crisis (and currently the delta variant is taking Texas by storm) taught us incredible lessons, many unexpectedly and challenging. Whether you’re waiting for your job to come back or a new opportunity to surface, these are all lessons that you can take with you.

Yes, that stressful life you’re leading will turn your hair gray but GOOD NEWS ... it's reversible! Picture this, Paris 1791 and you’re expecting to see Marie Antoinette in her beautiful blonde hair when overnight her famous hair turned gray. Well, that’s how the story goes at least. However, hair that has already grown out does not change colors, a new study from researchers at Columbia University offered actual data linking psychological stress to graying hair in people. While stress can speed up the graying process, they were shocked to see that it can be reversed, that your color can be restored when stress is eliminated (although more on that in a bit). The study’s senior author Dr. Martin Picard stated, “just as the rings in a tree trunk hold information about past decades in the life of a tree, our hair contains information about our biological history.” Scientists reviewed the calendars from individuals and monitored the graying of their hair. They found that one person who went on vacation had five gray hairs that reverted back to dark during that vacation. Unfortunately, this hair re-pigmentation is only possible for some. While reducing stress in your life is a great goal, it isn’t the key to everyone. There is a threshold to stress when it turns gray. "In middle age, when the hair is near that threshold because of biological age and other factors, stress will push it over the threshold and it transitions to gray," Picard says. Obviously, reducing stress in someone that’s over 70 and has been gray for years, their hair may darken just a bit but not much. "But we don't think that reducing stress in a 70-year-old who's been gray for years will darken their hair or increasing stress in a 10-year-old will be enough to tip their hair over the gray threshold."

Let’s just keep on trying to take breaks and remember to breathe a bit more.

Everyone experiences stress, which can be triggered by a range of events, from small daily hassles to major changes like a divorce or job loss. Upon seeing the reviews, I decided to check it out to see if this place is really this amazing. And it 1000% is better than what you've read. I didn't know what to expect but it absolutely exceeded expectations. I was skeptical about the non-dairy ice cream, but I can't wait to go back. The fruit flavors actually tasted like real fruit and was so fresh and light. The more decadent chocolate flavors were perfectly creamy and indulgent yet still very light. The place is vibrant and bright just like the ice cream, and the employee was so helpful in telling me about the ice creams and how they're made with the freshest ingredients.

It was hard to decide which flavor since they have so many options, so I decided to order tiny sizes and try four different ones: coffee, horchata, mango and watermelon. They were all so delicious, I cannot possibly pick a favorite. The topping selection is also great, from condensed milk to tapioca and m&ms. Sno is like sweet, airy, feather-like ice flakes. It's a great summer dessert, it's super yummy and relatively healthy.
