BINGO IS QUICKLY BECOMING A YOUNG PERSON’S GAME ACROSS THE POND! While bingo is stereotyped as a game for the over 60, the pandemic has made a new generation of bingo lovers. A British survey found that male under 25 years old are now hitting at around 50% of game players. Online gaming and introduction of our favorite game has allowed a new generation in the game. Many have said that it was a way to ease boredom during quarantine and they were doing it more for entertainment rather than actually winning any money. Another portion said it was a nice way to connect and feel part of a community, which was important during the pandemic.

It will be interesting to see if this trend continues over to North America. We are always here for a new generation of bingo players.

With Governor Abbott’s orders - all Texas businesses are back at 100%. What may have been the most tiring of times over the last year (March 13, 2020 - March 13, 2021), we have been so thankful that you all have been supportive of the proactive changes that we have been making towards keeping customers and employees safe. We are still asking for you to be kind and continue wearing your mask when you’re in a public space in Golden Bingo Family Halls. We will be loosening the restrictions (probably by the time this goes to print) where you can take your mask off while you’re sitting at your table. Please continue to enforce social distancing in order to continue to keep everyone safe. BERLIN (AP) — German police say they have solved a nine-yearold burglary after DNA found on a half-eaten piece of sausage matched that of a man detained in France over an unrelated crime.

Police in the western town of Schwelm said Thursday that the sausage belonged to the victim, and the suspect — a 30-year-old Albanian citizen — appeared to have helped himself to a bite during the March 2012 break-in. It wasn’t clear what type of sausage — known in Germany as wurst — the burglar had nibbled, though police said it was a hard variety. Investigators were recently alerted that French police had taken a matching DNA sample from a man involved in a violent crime. But Schwelm police said the suspect remains free and, in the wurst case, he may escape punishment. The statute of limitations on the burglary has expired, meaning he will likely not be extradited to Germany.

We support a summer camp for children who are physically challenged at the Texas Lion’s Camp. in Kerrville Texas. We partner with the S.A. Lighthouse for the Blind and LVRC/Owl Radio to assist clients that have visual needs.

EDUCATION Ah, On a humid day in May 2011 sitting in a classroom I received a phone call from my new husband. I could paint the picture that you normally see from a multimillion dollar production where the tunnel vision sets, I only hear key words like “cancer,” “tumors,” “testicular.” I didn’t know how this could be with my young husband. We were just married, had gone for a run the day before when he began experiencing what he felt was a pulled groin. We were about to endure the journey that thousands of families (over 9,000 to be exact) endure every year with the target age of 33.

Testicular cancer is the most common cancer in American males between 1535, yet is considered rare compared with other types of cancer. When in the first stages, it is highly treatable, including when it has spread beyond the testicle.

There are different ways to treat that you and your health professional can discuss.

Ladies, just like we’re supposed to check ourselves every month for breast cancer/ changes, gentlemen you are expected to do the same thing.

Symptoms can include: • Lump or enlargement in either of the testicles • A feeling of heaviness in the scrotum • A dull ache in the abdomen or groin • A sudden collection of fluid in the scrotum • Pain or discomfort in a testicle or the scrotum • Enlargement or tenderness of the breasts • Back pain

“I was diagnosed with Advanced testicular cancer on October 2, 1996. I had ignored the symptoms for months; pain comes with professional cycling, so it was easy to dismiss the soreness in my groin, headaches and difficulty breathing. I reluctantly went to the doctor after my testicle had swollen to three times its normal size. I owe a lot to my neighbor—a friend and doctor who insisted I get it checked out. By the time I was diagnosed, the cancer had already spread to my lungs and brain, so it is fair to say I was in bad shape.”

Quote from Lance Armstrong, whose non-profit Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF) is now a leader in the fight against cancer, knows all too well the impact that cancer of any kind can have on an individual. In 1996, his own aggressive form of testicular cancer metastasized into his lymph nodes, lungs and brain. Armstrong underwent two surgeries, one to remove his cancerous testicle and another to remove two cancerous lesions on his brain.

Over a three-month period, he received four rounds of chemotherapy. For these reasons, he understands that defeating cancer cannot be done alone.

When do I see a doctor?

So what exactly should you or your loved one be looking for? Any pain, swelling, lumps, or the sensation of “burning” in your groin or testicle area.

If these have occurred for longer than two weeks, go see a doctor immediately. There is no known reason behind testicular cancer. It just happens when an immature sperm cell goes a bit crazy.

Factors that increase your chances • Abnormal testicle development - Really any condition that may cause testicles to develop abnormally may increase your risk.

• Family history - If family members have had testicular cancer, this could increase your risk.

• Age - For some reason this affects teens and younger men (15-35) but it really could happen at any age.

• Race - More common in white men than in black men.

HOW TO REPURPOSE

Plastic Easter Eggs

There is nothing I love more then reusing or recycling items and turning them into something amazing! Every easter I find it kind of depressing throwing away all of the beautiful eggs we spend so much time decorating.

This year I wanted to find a way to beautify those plastic eggs so we can keep using them for years to come.

Simple Floral Ombre Easter Egg Wreath You will need: - Wreath Form - Paper Streamers - Hot Glue & Glue Sticks

- Plastic Eggs - Artificial Flowers

STEP 1 Wrap the wreath form with paper streamers (I used pink) by securing the starting end with a dab of hot glue and then pulling taut and overlapping the streamers as you wrap them around. Finish with another dab of hot glue. For a sturdier covering, you can use a thick ribbon instead of the paper streamers.

STEP 2 Start adding plastic eggs to the wreath with a generous dab of hot glue.

Mix up the colors and positions of the eggs for a random effect. Make sure to add eggs to the inside and outside edges of the wreath as well!

Keep the wreath flat on a table as you add eggs so that the eggs don’t extend past the back of the wreath form, ensuring the finished wreath will lay flat against a door or wall.

STEP 3 Cut your artificial flowers from their stems using a wire cutter. Leave an inch of the stem at the end of the bloom. This will make it easy to poke it into the wreath form.

STEP 4 Add your flowers to the wreath by poking them straight into the foam.

No glue needed! Use the flowers to fill in any gaps between the eggs, scattering them around the wreath until you get the look you want. A mix of rosebuds, cherry blossoms, and pussy willow and around 75 plastic eggs create the lush look of this wreath!

STEP 5 Hang your new pretty wreath on your door to welcome in spring! Wreaths are one of my most favorite crafts to make.

TIP: This is a delicate wreath, so I recommend using it on a covered porch or keeping it indoors. It would look great over a mantel!

The spring and summer time can be an incredibly busy time for many of us where we neglect to look at some of the smaller items in our health care; I’m talking feet. Foot care is one that many forget about and can become a serious issue in living with diabetes.

Every day you should set aside a time to go over the pressure areas on your feet, focusing especially between your toes. Any breaks in the skin, discharge, change in color, change in odor, painful corns and calluses can be the first signs of distress. When taking off your socks, remember to inspect them for any stones or rough edges. If you have difficulty accessing your feet, have a friend or family member do this for you.

Trimming your toenails falls in line with foot care because untrimmed & infected toenails can cause frequent infections and ulcers. Ask your diabetes doctor how to trim them correctly. Soak and soften your feet first in order to soften nails and then trim straight across. Nails that are thick, crumbly, or discolored may need professional help.

When soaking your feet, make sure that you don’t burn your feet. When you get older, nerve damage inevitably occurs and this can make keeping warm in the winter a big problem.

Lastly, make sure you keep that good moisture around. Nerve damage and poor circulation can cause a decrease of function of the glands that moisturize your feet naturally. Watch out for red, shiny areas. Use a good, thick cream after bathing and avoid leaving too much between your toes.

Wipe away excess with a towel.

The manager is very nice and he remembered me from when i came in on opening day anyway i went in and purchased a shirt he gave me a discount of the shirt for $15 even and gave me a free popsicle since i came in on opening day. I got the mint chocolate popsicle it was good but chewy and the manager said the fruity flavored are less chewy which is good to know in the future but either then that it was good.

They have alcohol pops which is very unique having a alcohol pops i did not try one anyway it is a fairly small location but I will visit again.
