AN ADOPTION STORY About five years ago, Marc and I decided to start the adoption process to have children of our own. Although a difficult process, we stuck through it. Upon finishing foster classes, we were matched with two brothers. After many visits, DCFS placed them with us in our home. We were so excited and so were they! On June 20, 2018 we were finally able to adopted them, and it was one of the best days of our lives. Two years later, we received another call that our boys had a new baby brother. Even though we didn’t get him until he was a year old, it was worth the wait and the adoption is pending. Our goal is to give these brothers every opportunity in the world that we can possibly give them– education, travel, extracurricular activities, SLU/ LSU sports games, summer camps, movies, proper health and dental care, and a family that loves them. Our boys even became Catholic this year! It doesn’t matter if you’re 20 or 60...these children love unconditionally. You don’t have to have alot of money, just love, support, structure and plenty of hugs! Contact your local DCFS office and sign up for fostering classes. Being a foster parent is not only brave, but it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Though the road has been rough at times, Marc and I agree that we are better people because of our fostering to adoption journey. AN ADOPTION STORY About five years ago, Marc and I decided to start the adoption process to have children of our own. Although a difficult process, we stuck through it. Upon finishing foster classes, we were matched with two brothers. After many visits, DCFS placed them with us in our home. We were so excited and so were they! On June 20, 2018 we were finally able to adopted them, and it was one of the best days of our lives. Two years later, we received another call that our boys had a new baby brother. Even though we didn’t get him until he was a year old, it was worth the wait and the adoption is pending. Our goal is to give these brothers every opportunity in the world that we can possibly give them– education, travel, extracurricular activities, SLU/ LSU sports games, summer camps, movies, proper health and dental care, and a family that loves them. Our boys even became Catholic this year! It doesn’t matter if you’re 20 or 60...these children love unconditionally. You don’t have to have alot of money, just love, support, structure and plenty of hugs! Contact your local DCFS office and sign up for fostering classes. Being a foster parent is not only brave, but it will be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. Though the road has been rough at times, Marc and I agree that we are better people because of our fostering to adoption journey. We love our boys with all our hearts and wouldn’t trade this experience for anything. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have about the fostering/adoption process. Every child deserves a loving home, no matter what situation they come from. Could yours be it for one of them?
