♯What a Day That Will be when my Jesus I shall see. When I look upon His face, the one who saved me by His Grace, What a Day, Glorious Day that will be. And when He takes me by the hand and leads me to the Promised Land, what a day, glorious day that will be.♯
I’ve had this tune on my mind all day. It began this morning when my grandson, his wife and daughter and his Daddy (my youngest son) came over to celebrate my son’s Feb 14th Valentines Day birthday as well as Papa’s birthday on the 16th My oldest son made it special by sending some delicious BarBQ with his brother. The kids did all the work including clean up so I had a great time.

This family time was so meaningful to me because when I was younger and head of my family, I hosted lots and lots of family get togethers. When my sons and my brothers became grand parents, that stopped. They don’t do it on purpose but they have their own large families to celebrate with now. My youngest daughter still includes us with everything she does but her children are grown now so soon she will have a gang that she is the matriarch of. This precious family time I had today with us sitting at the table together thanking God for His goodness is just a sample of that great glorious day when I will gather with family members that have gone before me. O what a day that will be.

Join us for an unforgettable evening that explores courage, faith, and the enduring light of remembrance.
Upstanders Arise: Courage, Silence, and the Stars will illuminate extraordinary stories of resilience—from the Torah scroll that journeyed into space aboard the Challenger, to the astronaut who honored Shabbat among the stars, to the child of the Holocaust whose drawing of the moon still speaks across generations. Through these remarkable connections between heaven and earth, we reflect on the silence that allowed evil to thrive and the courage that breaks it.

Deborah Elum, Producer
When my friend Jackie looked at me across the table at the restaurant and said, “My husband and I are moving to Alabama,” I nearly dropped my fork. We’d been friends for more than twentyfive years, and nothing in our long history prepared me for that announcement.
I tried to gather my thoughts. Alabama? Jackie didn’t know a soul there. She was Texas through and through—born here, raised here, educated here. Her roots ran deep in this state. Yet she was preparing to sell her home, buy a mobile home in a town she’d never lived in, and leave behind her daughters, her sister, and every friend she had ever known. I felt the weight of it immediately. I knew I would miss her. Why did she have to go?
As I began asking questions, Jackie surprised me with calm, thoughtful answers. She explained that her children and sister rarely visited and seldom called. Jackie had grown weary of being the only one reaching out, the only one trying to hold relationships together. I could hear the years of disappointment behind her words.
Jackie is one of the kindest, sweetest, most generous people I know. She wasn’t running away— she was reaching for something new. A fresh start. A place where she could build community instead of chasing it. And when she told me she believed God had instructed her to move, everything suddenly made sense.
Her story reminded me of Abram—later called Abraham—when God spoke to him and told him to leave everything familiar behind. His family, his home, his culture, and even his former religion he had grown up with. God called him to step into a new land and a new life. I imagine his family and friends were shocked too. Yet Abram obeyed, and that single act of faith changed generations. Jackie felt that same divine nudge toward a new beginning just like Abram.
Genesis 12:1 says that God instructed Abram to leave everything he knew and step into the promise of something greater. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most life— changing journeys begin with a single, unexpected step of faith. So it is with the launch of Deborah’s new single, performed by Ava Grace, which will culminate into an album this spring.

During March, April and May, a portion of the proceeds from the single “My God is Bigger Than That” will be donated to support the mission of TiMMark Angels. You can also visit TiMMarkAngels.org to learn more.
For more information, please contact Deborah Elum at P.O. Box 1594, Humble, Texas 77347-1594 or call (281) 570-4947.
Deborah Elum has loved the Lord and served Him all of her life from having dreams and visions at the tender age of 4 until she began writing books of faith and common-sense wisdom. She has also used her time and talents serving as an Associate Pastor for many years.
Following is her testimony about one of the songs she has written.
“After attending the same church for more than 23 years, it suddenly closed its doors. The loss felt overwhelming—like standing before a mountain so tall I couldn’t see anything beyond it. I didn’t know where my family or I would go next.
But God was already preparing the path long before I realized it. He led us to a new church, Cross Over Church in Humble, Texas where Pastor Stephen Brantley’s heart, personality, and spirit reminded me so much of my former pastor who had gone to be with the Lord. The congregation welcomed us with the same warmth and acceptance we had known at the previous church. In just a few months, I was placed in the very same position, as one of the Assistant Pastors.
Looking back, I can see now, how God was working everything out when I couldn’t see a thing. His plans are always bigger than any obstacle in front of us and that inspired the message behind the song, “My God Is Bigger Than That” was born out of one of the most uncertain seasons of my life. It’s a reminder that even when life shifts suddenly, God is already on the other side, making a way.”
About Ava Lyn Grace
Ava Lyn Grace is the digital artist born from Deborah Elum’s calling to share God’s Word through music and creativity. More than a stage name, Ava Lyn Grace serves as a vessel — a way for Deborah’s songwriting, testimony, and God-inspired messages to reach hearts that need hope. Through Deb’s Club Studios, Deborah produces music that reflects her faith, her story, and her desire to uplift others. Ava Lyn Grace becomes the artistic expression of that mission, carrying songs shaped by prayer, purpose, and the belief that God uses every gift for His Glory. In every melody, every lyric, and every release, Ava Lyn Grace stands as a reminder that when God places a calling on your life, He also provides the voice.

If sin can undo the cross, then the cross was never finished. Let’s ask the question honestly. If you keep on sinning, do you lose your salvation? Most people are taught some version of Jesus saves you, but you have to maintain it. That’s where the fear starts. Every failure feels dangerous. Every struggle feels like you are getting closer and closer to the edge.
But here’s the problem with that line of thought. If salvation is preserved by your performance, then it was never grace to begin with.
The New Testament never says salvation is sustained by your behavior. It says salvation is secured by Christ.
Does sin matter? Absolutely. Just not in the way religion taught you. Sin does not threaten your salvation. It disrupts your experience of life. Your peace. Your clarity. Your freedom. Your joy. That’s why Scripture talks about sin producing death. Not because God withdraws, but because sin is life lived disconnected from trust.
Salvation is not fragile. Transformation is relational.
You do not lose salvation by sinning, but you can live blind to what you already have. That is why Paul never motivates believers with fear of hell. He reminds them of who they are. You do not stop sinning by being scared enough. Sin loses its power when you see clearly enough.
If fear is what keeps you obedient, that is not transformation. That is survival.
The gospel does not say try harder so God will not leave. It says you were already brought near. Learn to live from that.
Sin does not kick you out of salvation. But believing lies about God will keep you from enjoying it. Freedom does not come from fearing the loss of Jesus. It comes from realizing He never left and He never will. Praise God. He knows my prayers, He knows my needs, and He knows the path He has created for me. Even when I do not fully understand His plan or trust it the way I should, He remains faithful. I am flawed and do not always place my full faith in Him, yet He has blessed me beyond measure. I am truly grateful for the blessings I have received, and I pray for every opportunity to lift up Christ. For that, I will continue to strive to lay everything at the foot of the cross

Bryon has been an active member of World Outreach Church in Murfreesboro, and he remains deeply committed to seeking the Kingdom of God, placing his faith in Christ, and striving daily to lay everything at the foot of the cross.

When you walk into Crockett Insurance Service at 206 South 5th Street in Crockett, Texas, you’re greeted by more than just a team of insurance professionals — you’re stepping into a legacy built over decades, shaped by three generations of the Jones family. What began as a small local agency has grown into a trusted source of
protection for families and businesses across Houston County and beyond, and it continues to evolve as the newest generation steps up to carry the tradition forward.
Although Crockett Insurance traces its roots to the years following World War II, it was when Don C. Jones joined the firm in the early 1970s that the modern chapter of the company began. Don brought with him a passion for personal service and a commitment to community values that would define the agency for years to come. Over time, Don worked his way up from partner to owner, becoming president of the company and establishing Crockett Insurance as a local institution.
Under Don’s leadership, the agency grew its offerings and strengthened its relationships with both individual and business clients. His dedication to providing personalized coverage solutions — from auto and home insurance to life and health policies — became the cornerstone of the agency’s reputation.
Son Takes the Helm: Carlton Jones
Following in his father’s footsteps, Carlton Jones became a key figure in the business. Carlton’s leadership reflects a seamless continuation of the values his father instilled: integrity, care, and a deep understanding of what local residents need from their insurance provider. Today, Carlton serves as President of Crockett Insurance Service, bringing over two decades of experience to the role.

Carlton embraces the challenge of building coverage options for customers of all walks. Clients and colleagues alike note that Carlton’s approach is both professional and personal, combining skilled risk analysis with the kind of hometown trust that only comes from being part of the community you serve. Whether he’s tailoring a commercial insurance package for a large firm, finding the right farm package for a local rancher or helping a young family understand their coverage options, Carlton’s focus remains on building long-lasting relationships.
The Next
The Jones family legacy took another big step forward in late 2023 with the addition of Sam Jones, Carlton’s son and Don’s grandson, as the most recent generation to join the agency. Sam’s decision to enter the family business wasn’t immediate — after high school he explored college at the University of North Texas and worked in other fields, including construction, and operating heavy equipment at a local sawmill. But the call to return home and build something lasting eventually led him back to Crockett Insurance.
Sam completed his insurance licensing and began training under the guidance of Carlton and

Don, embracing both the opportunities and challenges that come with working alongside family. “It’s a lot to take on,” Sam said, acknowledging the legacy he’s inheriting. “This business has been good to my family and in turn they have provided a lot of excellent service to our clients and community. So, there’s a lot of pressure that I’m putting on myself, but I think it’ll drive me to do as well as they did, and, hopefully, more so.”
This last year Sam and his wife Madison welcomed their first-born son, Priestly, named after Don’s father, with hopes of potentially passing the family business down to a fourth generation one day.
With more than 150 years of combined staff experience and a strong suite of insurance partners, Crockett Insurance Service offers a broad range of coverage options tailored to meet the needs of its clients — from personal auto and home policies to business and life insurance. The agency’s long tenure in the community has fostered deep trust among clients, reflected in glowing customer testimonials praising the team’s responsiveness, professionalism, and local understanding.
The Jones family isn’t just running a business — they’re protecting neighbors, safeguarding investments, and helping families navigate life’s uncertainties with confidence. As Sam continues to learn the ropes and take on new responsibilities, the future looks bright for this homegrown agency. The legacy that Don began, the foundation Carlton strengthened, and the path Sam is now walking stands as a testament to the value of commitment, family, and service — in Crockett and far beyond.

Personal growth can be very challenging at times. Changing the habits and mindset that you’ve maintained for years requires a great deal of effort and commitment. I don’t think there is a single person that doesn’t want to become the best they can possibly be, yet too many of us give up along the way.
We have a friend who turned 90 years old this year. Despite the challenges of aging, he leads a positive and fulfilling life. Recently, Noble was doing some land clearing on his land and came across a huge cedar tree. He brought our friend to see it, telling him “I found something older than you.”
As I saw him standing under that majestic cedar tree, I thought of how trees are symbolic of our growth. It has a way of teaching us valuable lessons.
To be like a tree is to build strong roots in your beliefs and character, allowing you to stand during life’s storms and challenges. Trees and people carry scars from past damage. They are a reminder of your strength, that you survived and grew stronger. They are a part of your story.
Just as trees shed leaves, we must let go of old habits, insecurities, and regrets to make room for new growth. Letting go doesn’t mean forgetting or discarding. It means honoring what has been, blessing it with gratitude, and then gently setting it down. Just as fallen leaves enrich the soil, our past mistakes and lessons we learned from them will continue to nourish our growth. Like a tree that never stops expanding, keep learning and striving to reach new heights, regardless of your age or position. When you look at a tree, you don’t see the amount of growth that it undergoes every day. But it is still growing.
If you devote the necessary time and energy in your personal growth, you’ll be amazed at what it will blossom into

Success is not final; failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.

She is the author of the book “Lessons From My Mirror - Change Begins With Me.” Paula and her husband Noble, began having Bible Studies in their home when Covid-19 restricted public gatherings in church buildings. When their group began to grow, they founded the Family Worship Center of Plum Grove, Texas. In 2022, they moved into a building but continue to keep the home setting inside with couches, tables and chairs. Their motto is “Doing Church Differently”. They count it as their greatest privilege to share the love of Jesus to each person they come in contact with daily.
