IHSFAN Magazine proudly celebrates our 8th anniversary in 2022. In early 2015 it was our belief that Austin was in need of its own preview magazine that would shine the spotlight on area High School football players, coaches, and teams. Our very first magazine showcased young men that have since graduated high school, then college, and are now starting their careers and even their own families. When I moved to Austin as a 9-year-old in the summer of 1975 Austin was a small town of just 250,000 and was the 50th largest city in the United States. Today Austin is the 10th largest city in the country! The growth of the area has been amazing. Just since we started our magazine, we have seen many NEW High Schools open and begin their own traditions. The Austin area continues to show the rest of the state that our area teams can compete with the elite programs from around this great football state. Jerry world has seen MANY area teams hoist championship trophies on the field in mid-December. We have all spent the last couple of seasons worried about the global pandemic; and we are hopeful that the term “Covid protocol” will not be in our vernacular this year. It is our hope that no team will have to cancel any games and no player or coach will have to miss any practice or game. It is also our hope that all the school community will be able to enjoy the incredible pageantry of high school football in its full glory. Once every two years the UIL realigns all of the schools into the districts that they will compete in for the next two years. Many area teams will find familiar opponents and a few others will need to update their GPS systems as they will be traveling to new stadiums as they face new rivals. Once again, we have put together 40+ Team previews for your enjoyment. We want to thank all of our advertisers who support IHSFAN and area High School Football…. Many of which has been with us since day 1.

Welcome to the 2022 IHSFAN MAGAZINE!
