I Will Never Be Divided Again
I WIll Never
be divided again
Let me start this article out by saying I was called to serve everyone. Doesn’t matter your past, your present. What matters is your future. Everyone reading this article has something that they need to fix in their life, but we run around trying to fix things that distract us from OUR PURPOSE.
The big talk of the day is politics! Over the last year, life has been racial; it’s been health; it’s been business closings; and it’s been control at the highest level because we were slowed down and were able to research and figure out some of what’s going on. Some people took the time to read and research. Others used the time to gain weight and become more gluttonous. Some people actually got closer to family which is something I did. I went from being on a plane three days a week to being in the same bed with my wife for a whole year. Interesting how much closer you get when you are together more, and on the same page more. Some got closer to their creator. For me that’s Jesus. Life is busy, life is messy, life is full of things we don’t understand, but are we really here loving each other instead of hating one another? Some people say bucket up your seatbelts; I ask you if your spirit has been asleep for way too long; is it time to wake up the spirit that called for you to love more?
Every major media outlet is dividing us. Not just one or two or three, but every media outlet is meaning to divide us. Each party in the democratic process is about division. I have my views; I have my vote; I have common sense, but too many of us take it to the far extremes. I have made a decision to love more and divide less. I don’t care what your party affiliation is; I care about your heart and how you’re serving others. WWJD… if you’re a Christian you know what that means, so ask yourself this question, ”Do I follow Him in how I communicate, how I treat my spouse, my kids, and people in my community?
Now when it comes to college football, Aggies, I have a deep distaste for you because I am a Longhorn, but I still love you. My life is on the backend, and I look back at the time I wasted, but thank God I still have time to serve and love more. Vaccines (which by the way I won’t take) are another way of dividing. Your choices are yours, like mine are mine. Don’t judge me; just love me. I will love you. I have learned in this moment in time that I am just called to be present and not called to be disruptive. I can educate, but I can’t change anyone’s mind, I can only disciple those who want more information. As I land the plane today, take a moment to look inside your own heart and see where your love gauge is. I grew up in Caldwell, Texas. I love every member of this community I grew up with. I didn’t get along with everyone back then, but I do love them. From the paddles stinging my behind from Mr Munstik, to Coach Goforth, to Coach Garland, to Coach Lewis, to an English paper I got an F on, I say, “Thanks, Mom. And to all the preachers and teachers and coaches and administrators, “Thank you.” Seeing Johnny Brewer recently was a joy. (By the way, he saved my life one night at a dance hall, but that was another time.) The two of us sat drinking a cup of coffee and talking about Jesus. It was a rich experience for me when I passed through town on 21. This community helped mold me into the human being I am today. My roots are strong because we didn’t divide; we just loved. I will not be divided anymore!!!!
