President's Welcome

The Fenimore family WELCOMES your family to the 76th Annual Fiesta Flambeau Parade, America’s Largest Illuminated Night Parade.

It is our privilege to have earned recognition as the "Best Parade in the World" by the International Festivals & Events Association, and we are proud to have reached an audience of millions through our broadcast and digital platforms.

You will witness a yearlong effort by members of our association along with help from our ambassadors, all dedicated to bringing a great celebration to life with lotsa family fun to celebrate the diversity that makes San Antonio our beloved city.

So, sit back, relax, and enjoy America’s Largest Illuminated Night Parade!

VIVA FLAMBEAU!

When the sun goes down, the Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association turns on the lights!

The 76th Annual Fiesta Flambeau Parade, featuring thousands of colorful lights, floats, dancers, marching bands, and community dance groups. This year's parade, themed "Lotsa Loteria," will showcase over 66 illuminated floats and 37 marching bands, including The University of Texas Longhorn Band.

Mayor's Greeting

James Fenimore President Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association

The Lights Will Shine!

¡Bienvenidos a Fiesta 2024!

I am honored to welcome you to the 76th annual Fiesta Flambeau, America’s largest illuminated night parade. This year’s parade will be led by the premier University of Texas Longhorn band, and will celebrate with the theme, “Lotsa Loteria.”

The word ‘flambeau’ is a French word meaning “burning torch,” and we can think of no better way to describe the stream of performers and floats that light up the streets of San Antonio. Inspired by the night parades of Mardi Gras, Fiesta Flambeau has become a treasured tradition for over 750,000 annual spectators since its debut in 1948. Many thanks to the Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association for putting on this spectacular event year after year.

Fiesta was first celebrated in 1891 in honor of the heroes of the Alamo and the Battle of San Jacinto but has since evolved into a celebration of San Antonio’s community spirit. The festival is made possible through volunteers, local nonprofits, and local military organizations. Funds raised through these events enrich our city throughout the year, making Fiesta the largest annual fundraiser for local nonprofits.

¡Viva Flambeau! ¡Viva Fiesta!

¡Viva San Antonio!

2024 Grand Marshal MICHAEL QUINTANILLA

San Antonio Journalist and "Mr. Fiesta"

Michael Quintanilla has sat front row at runways in New York, Milan, and Paris, writing about international fashion weeks for the Los Angeles Times and his hometown’s San Antonio Express-News. His work has won awards, including his impromptu coverage for the Los Angeles Times of the 9/11 attacks in New York. He contributed reporting about the 1992 Los Angeles riots and the 1994 Northridge earthquake, works that earned the staff of the Times two Pulitzer Prizes.

Michael is a Burbank High School graduate and earned his journalism degree from Trinity University. He is the author and performer of his acclaimed one-man show about writing that has taken him from Hollywood to Harvard, performing before college audiences and fellow journalists.

Many of his newspaper stories (L.A. Times, Dallas Morning News, Dallas Times-Herald, El Paso Herald-Post, Express-News), including investigative reporting (early in his career he returned to high school as an undercover student for a series about drugs in schools) and feature writing, have been published in journals, books and turned into a feature film and optioned for others.

Locally, he is “Mr. Fiesta,” known for wearing his elaborate over-the-top handcrafted hats and costumes that have been exhibited at the former Institute of Texan Cultures. In 2022 he organized more than 300 frontliners and health care workers to march in the Flambeau Parade (his favorite Fiesta event), an idea sprung from his annual scholarship dancing video the year before where he honored frontliners during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Always the entertainer, he also is Hasbro’s Mr. Monopoly, decked out in the well-known tuxedo and top hat costume that promotes the international brand. He also is recognized as a San Antonio ambassador having traveled with Visit San Antonio, promoting the Alamo City’s diversity, culture, and charm. He works with many local nonprofit organizations and contributes his time, talent and energy as a popular emcee across the Alamo City.

2024 Fiesta Flambeau® Parade Association Poster Artist Winner Victoria Lara

Originally from McAllen, Texas, but I've called San Antonio home for the past 11 years. I really never did art too much, but it was always something that I loved doing on the side.

In 2024, I hit a major milestone—I was chosen as the Fiesta Flambeau Poster Artist. It's been incredible to see my artwork appreciated and recognized on such a large scale.

When I'm not drawing, which feels like never, I love to sing, work on my music, and also read. Fantasy books are my favorite.

In terms of who keeps me going and do what I do and why I continue to draw, my friends and family are my biggest motivators. Seeing their support and belief in me pushes me to strive for excellence every day. Growing up fast, I learned to be independent pretty quick, but having these wonderful people in my life motivates me to be better every day.

In 2006, the Fiesta Flambeau Parade Association, Inc. introduced “Torchy” as it’s mascot. Torchy is a year-round symbol for spreading goodwill throughout the community for the parade. Torchy also serves as the ambassador of goodwill for the Fiesta Flambeau Parade Charitable Corporation, Inc. as well.

At each visit, Torchy leaves "Torchy's Adventures" that every child gets to take home. Each page of the book is devoted to making reading a part of everyday life and emphasizes the importance of adding reading to other good habits such as eating right and exercising.

We’re known for offering great-tasting food made with the highest quality ingredients. Our 100% Angus Beef slider is always fresh, never frozen and like everything on our menu – made fresh to order. Our famous chicken fingers are marinated and hand-breaded on-site. You can always choose from our fantastic assortment of sauces to compliment your meal but we suggest our Boom Sauce or Savvy Sauce. And if you want something sweet we have several delicious flavors of hand-spun custard milkshakes. Come check us out, we have something for everyone!
