HAWK’S SHADOW WINERY NEW WINERY ON ITS SECOND YEAR

7XFNHGDZD\LQWKHUROOLQJKLOOVZHVWRI'ULSSLQJ6SULQJVLVJHPRI a winery. Located just south of the Pedernales River at 7500 McGregor Lane, Hawk’s Shadow Winery is making a name for itself. It’s a young estate, having just opened in 2014, but they are producing approximately eight varieties of wines, both reds and whites including an Orange Muscat that is unlike your typical sweet dessert white. It’s more of a dry wine. $W+DZNĂšV6KDGRZ2ZQHUV'RXJ5HHG7RP5HHGDQG&KLS&RQNlin do it all, from growing grapes to bottling their own wine. Paying a visit to their tasting room is a real treat. You can grab a glass and sit on the patio which has breathtaking views overlooking a valley and one of their vineyards. Be sure to spend some time underground as well. Ask to take a ORRNDWWKHFHOODUZKLFKKDVEHHQH[FDYDWHGÄ IWHHQIHHWEHORZWKH tasting room. You can see where their barrels are stored and you may even see some fossils in the limestone.
