SABOR Announces 2016 Real Estate Award Winners

The San Antonio Board of REALTORS® recognized the outstanding achievements of several of its members during the Awards and Installation ceremony on December 8th at Pearl Stable. John Craig was recognized as the 2016 Broker of the Year. He is the broker for Key Realty and is dedicated to serving his agents and helping them to achieve their goals. He leads not just in his office but also in the real
estate community by being an instructor for the Real Estate School at SABOR. He has served at SABOR on committees such as REALTOR® Builder and Government Affairs, and he will also serve as a Director for the Texas Association of REALTORS® in 2017. Denise Graves won the award for 2016 REALTOR® Salesperson of the Year. A member of SABOR since 1991, Denise is a REALTOR® with the Phyllis Browning Company. Denise is known for her extraordinary service to her clients by offering expert guidance and a warm personality. Denise is currently the chairman of SABOR’s Small City and Towns Forum and in her spare time, she gives back to the community through participation in SA 2020 and the Hill Country Animal Defense League. Jeffery Shaffer received the award for 2016 Rookie of the Year. Jeffery is with Ultimate Realty and holds his GRI designation. His passion is helping people achieve their homeownership goals and he leverages his experience in operations and business development to serve his clients.
Marla Luciano was named the 2016 Affiliate of the Year. Marla works for Old Republic Home Protection and serves on the Affiliate Partner committee. Marla can be seen regularly at SABOR functions where she not only attends but often participates as an advertiser. She goes out of her way to stay involved with the real estate community because she genuinely cares about making this the best place to buy and sell property. Janice Lerma-Lozano was recognized as the 2016 Property Management Specialist of the Year. Janice is a Property Manager/Broker at Rental Property Pros and has been an active SABOR member for over a decade. She has previously been chairman of SABOR’s TREPAC and Property Management committees and has also served on the Government Affairs committee and the Political Advocacy subcommittee. Marietta Alba received the 2016 Lifetime Distinguished Service Award. Currently the broker/owner of the Apartment and
Relocation Center, Marietta served as SABOR’s Chairman in 2010. Throughout her years with SABOR she has served on the TREPAC, Government Affairs, REALTOR® Image, Program and TRLP committees. In addition to her involvement at the board, Marietta has served the San Antonio community through participating in charitable organizations. She is a leader in the real estate community as well as in the San Antonio community because of the professional example she sets. Greg Jones was name the 2016 Good Neighbor Award winner. Greg is with the Phyllis Browning Company and is a member of the Jones Real Estate Group. For six years Greg has been involved with J-Jireh Ministries and serves on their Board of Directors. Through his tireless efforts, he helped collect and deliver over 1,600 Christmas Shoebox gifts last year to distribute to abused, neglected and abandoned children and teens who are living in foster care and shelters. He has helped raise over $20,000 for the organization and has contributed thousands of hours of his time to volunteer. His compassion and integrity have helped shape San Antonio children and families lives for the better.
