Corpus Christi Area Zones North Beach Located just across the Harbor Bridge, North Beach is home to two of Corpus Christi’s most popular attractions the Texas State Aquarium and the USS Lexington, an aircraft carrier turned museum. North Beach offers a good variety of places to eat and drink and awesome bayfront views. Sip on a cocktail and dip your feet in the Corpus Christi Bay waters.
Southside Corpus Christi’s Southside is the area’s business district with multiple shopping and restaurant options. Plant and nature enthusiasts will appreciate the South Texas Botanical Gardens and Nature Center where the noise of city life disappears and serenity abounds. Enjoy the stunning floral exhibits and gardens and take a walk down one of the trails where it is not uncommon for birds and butterflies to come greet you.
Bayfront/Downtown Sing your favorite karaoke song, show off your Texas two-step dancing skills or catch a baseball game at Whataburger Field. Corpus Christi’s bayfront/downtown area offers more than 1,200 hotel rooms, some of the city’s finest dining options, a marina and museums. The Sports, Entertainment and Arts District (SEA District) also is part of this area and includes the Museum of South Texas, the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, Concrete Street Amphitheater and Hurricane Alley Waterpark. McGee Beach located on the downtown seawall offers a beach that is perfect for children and fishing along the jetties.
Mustang At Mustang Island State Park, families enjoy a serene environment for camping, shell collecting, and nature watching on five miles of coastline.
Northwest The City’s Northwest side offers some of the best bird watching opportunities for bird lovers. Located on the Nueces River, Hazel Bazemore Park offers hawk watchers and bird enthusiasts a prime location to see birds migrate. Each spring and fall people gather to watch thousands of hawks fly overhead. The 77.6-acre park also includes a wetland, pond, and woodlands. Birding kiosks are located throughout the park. Labonte Park, at the city’s entrance, offers great views of the Nueces River as well as fishing and kayaking opportunities.
Port Aransas You can find Port Aransas between Mustang Island and the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. This quaint city offers beautiful beaches and abundant wildlife. Don’t be surprised to see dolphins jump out in front of the large ships coming in and out of the Corpus Christi Ship Channel. Its fine dining options and nightlife make Port Aransas a must-do when you want the full Coastal Bend experience. Ride the ferry and explore the cities in the North Bay area.
Central Central Corpus Christi features some of the city’s best shopping options such as La Palmera mall and the Shops at La Palmera. Find the latest fashion at the specialty shops at the Lamar Park shopping center. This area also includes many residential neighborhoods and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi, the Island University.

Padre Islands Padre Island features several beach options and a long pier ideal for fishing. Padre Island also is home to the newest waterpark of the awardwinning Schlitterbahn family.
