BOERNE CITY LAKE PARK

(1 City Lake Rd) 100-acre park that offers swimming, a fishing pier, boat dock and ramp, bird observation blind, volleyball court, covered playground, 9-hole Frisbee golf, picnic units with grills, trails, fire rings, and more. Motorized watercraft are not permitted, but paddle boards and kayaks can be rented on site during peak season. Public restrooms available and the large pavilion can be rented through the Boerne Parks and Recreation Department.

BOERNE CITY PARK

(106 City Park Rd) A unique athletic facility and park. Includes tennis courts, playground, municipal pool, The AgriCultural Museum and Arts Center, and The Cibolo Center for Conservation. Public restrooms.

BOERNE SKATE PARK

(524 Adler St) Includes a 7,500 sq.ft. plazastyle skateboard park, playground, open space for free play, and a public restroom.

CIBOLO CENTER FOR

Conservation

(140 City Park Rd, 830.249.4616) 100 acres of Hill Country trails, wilderness, and the Historic Herff Farm Homestead that provides education, research, entertainment, and outdoor activities. The weekly (Mar.-Nov.) Saturday Farmers Market is located at the Herff Farm; 33 Herff Rd. Public restrooms.

Hit The Trails

CIBOLO TRAIL

(North Trail head: 100 N Main St, South Trail head: 106 City Park Rd) 3.15-mile linear park. The Cibolo Trail follows Cibolo Creek and extends from Main Plaza and The Kendall to City Park. Users can move in and out of the famed Hill Country Mile from this trail.

KINDERPARK

(111 Water St) The most child-friendly park in town. The completely fenced-in play equipment is shaded by century-old oak trees and is appropriate for a wide range of ages.

NORTHRUP PARK

(37550 IH-10 W) A premier sports facility that offers a variety of sports fields, sand volleyball and basketball courts, playground, public restrooms, and more. Facility rental is available through the Boerne Parks and Recreation Department.

Main Plaza And Waterworks Terrace

(100 N Main St) Located in the heart of Downtown Boerne, many events are held on the lawn where the gazebo takes center stage. Public restrooms.

CIBOLO NATURE CENTER TRAILS

(104 City Park Rd) A network of trails throughout the Cibolo Center for Conservation property looping through the marsh, tall grass prairie, woodlands, and creekside.

Currey Creek Trail

(1017 Adler St) 0.5-mile linear park. The Currey Creek trail head is located at the Boerne Parks and Recreation Office and winds 0.5 miles to Blanco Rd.

RIVER ROAD PARK

(415 River Rd) Located on the banks of the Cibolo Creek, the park is home to Boerne’s famous wild ducks and geese, walking paths, picnic tables, public fishing, and lots of photo opportunities! It's not a surprise to find a local artist painting en plein air as you stroll along the trail. During the warmer months, grab a snow cone from The Stand at the intersection of Main Street and the trail. Public restrooms.

VETERANS PLAZA

(801 S Main St) This park includes a Walk of Honor, memorial plaques, is handicapped accessible and is the location of Boerne's annual Veterans Day ceremony.

OLD NO. 9 TRAIL

(358 Esser Rd) 1.4-mile linear park. This trail follows the Old No. 9 Railway through town. The Patrick Heath Public Library is connected to the trail by a bridge! Occasionally the library posts "Story Walks" for kids and families to enjoy together.

GUADALUPE RIVER STATE PARK

(3350 Park Rd 31)

A mere 20 min. drive on Hwy 46 East. Hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, and camping. Adjacent to Honey Creek State Natural Area.

OLD TUNNEL STATE PARK

(10619 Old San Antonio Rd, Fredericksburg, 866.978.2287)

Located in Kendall Co., 13 miles north of Comfort. Bats emerge nightly (May-Oct.) from a 930-foot abandoned railway tunnel. Bat viewing is open to the public. Call 866.978.2287 for the most current emergence times.

JAMES KIEHL RIVER BEND PARK

(118 River Bend Rd, Comfort)

A secluded park perfect for fishing, paddling, hiking, swimming and relaxing along the Guadalupe River.

JOSHUA SPRINGS PARK & PRESERVE

(716 FM 289, Comfort) Stocked pond, bird blinds, two miles of walking trails, picnic areas, and pavilions.

KREUTZBERG CANYON

(143 Mark Twain Dr)

A 117-acre scenic canyon with Guadalupe River frontage allowing public river access. Trails, birding, wildlife viewing, as well as fossil and nature exploration.
