This program is your guide to all the wonderful sponsors that made possible everything from the Double Shotgun Showdowns and on-course contests to crowd favorites like the Great Helicopter Ball Drop, the Saturday Night Hoedown, and the dramatic $10,000 Final Putt for Gold at The Edge. And of course, the Sunday Wives Wine Tour!

We also extend our heartfelt thanks to our volunteers, and every player who chose to spend Labor Day weekend with us. Your enthusiasm fuels this event—and your generosity creates lasting change.

Here’s to birdies, BBQ, big prizes, and bigger hearts.

Let’s make this the most unforgettable ‘Hill Country Cup’ yet!

Hill Country SPCA: A Legacy of Compassion and Community in

Fredericksburg

Since its founding in 1997 by Ed and Trudy Brune, the Hill Country SPCA has been a leading advocate for animal welfare in Fredericksburg the Texas Hill Country. Established as a 501(c)(3) nonpro t organization, its mission has remained constant: to provide shelter, care, and adoption opportunities for lost, abandoned, and unwanted animals while promoting responsible pet ownership and preventing animal cruelty.

What began as a vision by a group of local animal lovers has grown into a trusted community institution. The founders recognized a pressing need in the region: too many animals without homes and too few resources to care for them. With determination and community support, they established the area's rst no-kill shelter, guided by the belief that every animal deserves a second chance.

Over the years, the Hill Country SPCA has expanded its reach by upgrading facilities, growing its sta , and partnering with veterinarians, rescue networks, and volunteers. Its shelter on Highway 16 South now serves as a haven for hundreds of animals—including cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs, pot belly pigs, and horses—each year. The shelter provides medical care, spay and neuter services, and behavioral rehabilitation as needed.

But the organization’s impact extends well beyond the shelter’s walls. Through educational programs in local schools, pet owner resources, and low-cost vaccination and sterilization clinics, the Hill Country SPCA plays a vital role in reducing pet overpopulation and promoting lifelong, loving pet ownership. Its adoption events and partnerships with local businesses, civic groups, and animal welfare coalitions have helped unite thousands of animals with forever families.

Recent years have underscored the community's deep commitment to animal welfare. Adoptions have increased, and foster programs have expanded, with over 800 animals adopted in 2023 alone—making this one of the most impactful periods in the organization's history. Today, Hill Country SPCA is embracing technology to streamline adoptions and increase outreach, while also investing in shelter improvements and programs to support senior pets and long-term residents.

As Fredericksburg continues to grow, the Hill Country SPCA remains grounded in its founding values of compassion, service, and advocacy. Every rescued animal is a testament to what a caring community can accomplish when united by a shared purpose. Whether through donations, volunteering, fostering, or adopting, the Hill Country SPCA invites everyone to be part of its life-saving mission.

For more information, to get involved, or to meet a new furry friend, visit www.hillcountryspca.org or stop by their shelter at 2981 S State Hwy 16 in Fredericksburg. Together, we can continue writing a story of hope, healing, and happy endings for the animals who need us most.

Peanuts, Rolls, and Heart: The Inspiring Story Behind Texas Roadhouse

“What started as one man’s dream of serving hand-cut steaks and warm hospitality has grown into a nationwide favorite. Discover how Texas Roadhouse founder Kent Taylor built a people-first empire—one roll, one smile, and one bold vision at a time.”

The Texas-Sized Dream of Kent Taylor: The Story Behind Texas Roadhouse

When Kent Taylor opened the first Texas Roadhouse in 1993, he didn’t just dream of building a restaurant—he wanted to create a place where guests felt like family, where the food was hearty, and the atmosphere was as warm as a Texas sunset. Today, Texas Roadhouse has grown into a household name with over 700 locations worldwide, but its story is deeply rooted in Taylor’s relentless vision and humble beginnings.

Born in Louisville, Kentucky, W. Kent Taylor developed an early passion for the restaurant industry. After attending the University of North Carolina on a track scholarship, Taylor returned to his hometown with a vision of creating something different—something authentic. He spent years working in kitchens and restaurants, learning the business from the ground up. But it wasn’t until the early 1990s that his idea truly began to take shape: a place where hand-cut steaks, made-from-scratch sides, and legendary margaritas would set the standard for casual dining.

Taylor’s journey wasn’t easy. His first attempt to launch a restaurant concept fell through due to lack of funding. Determined, Taylor pitched his idea for Texas Roadhouse to over 50 potential investors before finally securing a small group of backers. In February 1993, the first Texas Roadhouse opened in Clarksville, Indiana—just across the Ohio River from Louisville. From day one, Taylor’s guiding principle was clear: “We’re not just in the food business; we’re in the people business”

At the heart of Texas Roadhouse’s success is its culture, which Taylor built with intention and care. Employees, or “Roadies,” are encouraged to treat guests believed that happy employees would upbeat line dancing servers to the free cinnamon butter.

Taylor also believed in a hands-on approach. He was known to travel constantly, visiting restaurant locations to meet employees and interact with customers. His approachable leadership style, combined with his insistence on quality and consistency, helped Texas Roadhouse stand out in the crowded casual dining industry.

Texas Roadhouse

The menu remained simple but strong—Hand Cut Steaks, Fall-Off-The-Bone Ribs, Made-From-Scratch Sides and Fresh-Baked Bread that taste like home.

Under Taylor’s leadership, the company flourished. Texas Roadhouse went public in 2004, but Taylor never lost sight of the brand’s roots. He refused to compromise on quality, even when it would have been cheaper or easier to do so. His passion for giving back also became a cornerstone of the company’s identity. From supporting veterans and first responders to donating to local communities, Texas Roadhouse has always been about more than just good food.

Tragically, Kent Taylor passed away in March 2021 at the age of 65. His death was a tremendous loss to both the company and the restaurant industry as a whole. Yet his legacy lives on—not only through the thriving chain he built but also through his generous spirit and innovative leadership. Taylor personally donated millions to COVID-19 relief efforts and the company’s frontline employees during the pandemic, a testament to his belief that success is measured by how you treat people.

Today, Texas Roadhouse continues to grow, guided by the principles Taylor instilled from the very beginning: quality food, genuine hospitality, and a sense of fun that makes every visit memorable. What started as one man’s dream in Indiana has become a beloved American brand known for its hand-cut steaks, line-dancing servers, and down-home charm. As their slogan says---Legendary Food ---Legendary Service!

Kent Taylor’s story is one of perseverance, passion, and people-first values. Through Texas Roadhouse, his Texas-sized heart and entrepreneurial spirit continue to make an impact, one roll and one smile at a time.

Why Investors Are Flocking to Precious Metals for Security and Growth

8.375 x 10.875

In a financial climate marked by volatility, inflation, and global uncertainty, an increasing number of investors are turning to tangible assets to protect and preserve their wealth. Among these, precious metals—especially gold—have remained a time-tested choice. As digital finance continues to grow and conventional markets become less predictable, the case for gold is stronger than ever.

The Case for Gold in 2025

1. Volatility Protection

The first half of 2025 has been marked by economic turbulence, as stubborn inflation, erratic interest rates, and heightened geopolitical tensions have all contributed to volatile swings in global equities and currencies. In times of uncertainty, gold has historically served as a safe haven asset. When stocks stumble, and fiat currencies weaken, gold often holds its value—or even appreciates—as investors seek stability. Its proven track record during past financial crises makes it a cornerstone for anyone looking to hedge against market risk.

2. A Hedge Against In ation

Inflation continues to erode purchasing power in 2025, raising concerns for anyone holding cash or traditional investment portfolios. The value of a dollar today simply doesn't stretch as far as it did a few years ago. Gold, however, tends to rise in tandem with inflation, offering an effective hedge against the declining value of paper money. Its scarcity and intrinsic value make it a natural hedge, ensuring that wealth remains resilient even when consumer prices soar.

Lo“In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation. There is no safe store of value.”-Alan Greenspan

3. Privacy and Control in the Digital Age

In an increasingly digital financial ecosystem, many investors are growing wary of third-party oversight, data tracking, and limited access to their own assets. Gold stands apart from digital and institutional financial instruments. As a physical, offline asset, it provides unparalleled privacy and autonomy. Owning gold means you retain full control over your wealth—free from government intervention, online tracking, or financial restrictions. For individuals who value discretion and independence, gold offers an unmatched sense of security.

The United States Gold Bureau: A Trusted Partner

Founded with the mission of making precious metals accessible and understandable, the United States Gold Bureau has been a trusted name in the industry for decades. The U.S. Gold Bureau offers investors direct access to high-quality gold, silver, platinum, and palladium products, backed by transparent pricing and expert guidance.

Whether you're a first-time buyer or a seasoned investor, the U.S. Gold Bureau offers personalized service to help you navigate your options and build a portfolio tailored to your financial goals.

The Gold IRA Advantage

BLUE - FINAL TRIM

8.375 x 10.875

One of the most effective ways to incorporate gold into your long-term strategy is through a Self-Directed Precious Metals IRA. This type of IRA allows you to hold physical precious metals as part of your retirement savings—offering both tax advantages and asset diversification.

With a Gold IRA from the United States Gold Bureau, you can protect your retirement funds from inflation and economic instability while enjoying the same benefits as traditional IRAs. The U.S. Gold Bureau offers comprehensive support, including account setup, IRS-compliant transfers, and secure storage through trusted depositories, such as the Texas Bullion Depository, the first state-administered depository.

Final Thoughts

Precious metals—particularly gold—have stood the test of time as a store of value, a hedge against inflation, and a symbol of financial independence. In today's complex and unstable economic environment, precious metals are more relevant than ever. Whether you're seeking stability, privacy, or long-term security, investing in gold with the United States Gold strategic path forward.

Barter: A Strategic Advantage for Texas Small Businesses

In today’s unpredictable economy, small businesses across Texas are being challenged to do more with less. Rising costs, cash flow struggles, and limited access to credit have made traditional ways of doing business more di?icult. That’s why an increasing number of smart, creative business owners are turning to an age-old solution with a modern twist, **BARTER**.

Barter isn’t just about trading goods and services to save money; it’s about opening new doors. By joining a barter network, Texas businesses can leverage their existing products or excess capacity to gain new customers, increase revenue, and build relationships with other entrepreneurs. In a state as entrepreneurial and relationship-driven as Texas, barter creates instant access to a community that believes in mutual growth and smart resource use.

Instead of letting inventory sit or appointment slots go unfilled, businesses are putting those assets to work. Through barter, they’re trading what they have for what they need, whether that’s marketing, dental work, printing, travel, or professional services. Each trade helps conserve cash while providing real value. Barter is also a powerful networking engine. Every transaction is a new connection, often leading to referrals, collaborations, and expanded visibility in the marketplace. It builds a trusted ecosystem where small businesses support each other, not just for survival, but for long-term success.

In this economy, barter is no longer a novelty. It’s a “Necessary and Strategic Advantage. Texas business owners who embrace barter are proving they can adapt, grow, and thrive, regardless of the economic climate. It’s time to think beyond cash and harness the power of what you already have and fuel what your business can become

Crafted Through Generations: The Story of KingWood Fine Cabinetry, Fredericksburg Flooring

Center, and KingWood Suites

In the heart of the Texas Hill Country, tradition and craftsmanship meet under one roof in Fredericksburg—a place where a family legacy has been carved in wood, grounded in design, and elevated through experience. That place is KingWood Fine Cabinetry, a name synonymous with timeless quality and artisan precision for over four generations.

The story begins nearly a century ago with Ezekiel King, a skilled builder and cabinetmaker in the 1920s. Armed with a handmade wooden chest full of tools—now proudly displayed in the KingWood showroom—Ezekiel carried this chest from job to job, leaving behind beautifully built homes and a reputation for doing things right. His son Weldon picked up the trade after WWII building hundreds of homes through the years in the Abilene area, and by the early 1970s, Greg King was building custom cabinets out of the back of his pickup truck.

What started as a trade passed from father to son has now grown into a thriving, family-run enterprise led by Greg’s children, Marci and Dana King—the fourth generation to carry the KingWood torch. Today, KingWood Fine Cabinetry is known for producing high-end custom cabinetry for kitchens, bathrooms, media centers, closets, and commercial spaces across the region. Each piece re ects the values passed craftsmanship, quality materials, and unmatched

Marci expanded the Kingwood vision by found ing Fredericksburg Flooring Center, located alongside the cabinetry showroom. Her goal: to o er a one-stop design destination for homeowners and builders alike. With a broad range of tile, carpet, hardwood, and vinyl plank ooring, Fredericksburg Flooring Center allows clients to coordinate nishes and make con dent design choices—all in one location.

But the King family’s dedication to artistry didn’t stop at cabinetry or ooring. Roughly 20 years ago, Greg King saw potential in the vacant upstairs o ces of their historic building. Just blocks from downtown Fredericksburg, he envisioned transforming the space into luxury guest suites that would re ect the same quality and style his family was known for.

That vision became KingWood Suites—a warm, luxurious boutique B&B that now welcomes visitors from across the country. Guests enter through a stylish main lobby, featuring a gathering room with a large-screen TV and a shared kitchen space. Down a quiet hallway are ve unique and beautifully appointed suites, each designed and decorated by Jill King, Greg’s wife and the matriarch of the family.

With a background in art and a natural air for design, Jill brought her creativity to life through every detail of the suites. From furnishings to nishes, her signature touch is everywhere—most notably on the walls in the lobby. Jill personally faux- nished these walls by hand, using layered techniques to create a rich, leather-like texture that complements the luxurious ranch-style ambiance. The result is a space that’s both welcoming and re ned—an extension of the craftsmanship the King name is known for.

Together, KingWood Fine Cabinetry, Fredericksburg Flooring Center, and KingWood Suites o er more than beautiful interiors—they o er a story of family, heritage, and hands-on artistry. From a wooden tool chest to a fully integrated design destination, the King family continues to build not just homes and spaces, but lasting impressions.

Their story is a reminder: the deepest stories are often carved in wood and passed down through family hands.
